1Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
1พี่น้อง เกี่ยวกับการมาขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าเยซูคริสต์ของเรา และการที่พวกเราจะมารวมกันอยู่กับพระองค์ เราขอพวกคุณว่า
2That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
2อย่าหวั่นไหวทางความคิดหรือตกใจอย่างรวดเร็ว ไม่ว่าจะเกิดจากวิญญาณ จากคำพูด หรือจากจดหมายที่อ้างว่ามาจากเรา ซึ่งบอกว่าวันของพระคริสต์มาถึงแล้ว
3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come , except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
3อย่าให้ใครหลอกลวงพวกคุณไม่ว่าด้วยวิธีใด เพราะวันนั้นจะไม่มาจนกว่าการกบฏ จะเกิดขึ้นก่อน และคนแห่งบาปจะถูกเปิดเผย คือบุตรแห่งความพินาศ
4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
4เขาต่อต้านและยกตัวเองเหนือทุกสิ่งที่เรียกว่าพระเจ้า หรือที่ผู้คนนมัสการ จนเขาเข้าไปนั่งในวิหารของพระเจ้าอย่างผู้เป็นพระเจ้า และตั้งตัวว่าตนเป็นพระเจ้า
5Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
5พวกคุณจำไม่ได้หรือว่า ตอนที่ข้าพเจ้ายังอยู่กับพวกคุณ ข้าพเจ้าเคยบอกเรื่องเหล่านี้แก่พวกคุณ
6And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
6ตอนนี้พวกคุณรู้แล้วว่า อะไรกำลังยับยั้งเขาอยู่ เพื่อให้เขาถูกเปิดเผยเมื่อถึงเวลาของเขา
7For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let , until he be taken out of the way.
7ความลับของการไร้กฎกำลังทำงานอยู่แล้ว เพียงแต่มีผู้ที่กำลังยับยั้งอยู่ในตอนนี้ จนกว่าผู้นั้นจะถูกนำออกไปให้พ้นทาง
8And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
8แล้วคนไร้กฎนั้นจะถูกเปิดเผย องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าจะฆ่าเขาด้วยลมหายใจจากปากของพระองค์ และทำลายเขาด้วยการปรากฏเมื่อพระองค์มา
9Even him , whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
9การมาของคนนั้นเป็นไปตามการทำงานของซาตาน พร้อมด้วยพลังทุกอย่าง หมายสำคัญ และการอัศจรรย์ที่หลอกลวง
10And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
10พร้อมทั้งการหลอกลวงชั่วร้ายทุกอย่างสำหรับผู้ที่กำลังพินาศ เพราะพวกเขาไม่ยอมรับความรักที่มีต่อความจริง ซึ่งจะทำให้พวกเขารอด
11And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
11ด้วยเหตุนี้ พระเจ้าจึงส่งความหลงผิดอย่างรุนแรงมาถึงพวกเขา เพื่อให้พวกเขาเชื่อคำโกหก
12That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
12เพื่อทุกคนที่ไม่เชื่อความจริง แต่กลับพอใจในความไม่ชอบธรรม จะถูกพิพากษา
13But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
13แต่พี่น้องผู้เป็นที่รักขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า เราจำเป็นต้องขอบคุณพระเจ้าสำหรับพวกคุณเสมอ เพราะพระเจ้าเลือกพวกคุณไว้ตั้งแต่แรกเพื่อความรอด โดยการชำระให้บริสุทธิ์ของพระวิญญาณ และการเชื่อในความจริง
14Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
14พระองค์เรียกพวกคุณมาสู่สิ่งนี้โดยข่าวดีของเรา เพื่อให้พวกคุณได้รับพระสิริขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าเยซูคริสต์ของเรา
15Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
15ดังนั้น พี่น้อง จงยืนหยัดมั่นคง และยึดสิ่งที่เราได้ถ่ายทอดแก่พวกคุณไว้ให้มั่น ไม่ว่าเราจะถ่ายทอดด้วยคำพูด หรือด้วยจดหมาย
16Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,
16บัดนี้ ขอองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าเยซูคริสต์ของเราเอง และพระเจ้าพระบิดาของเรา ผู้ที่รักเรา และประทานการปลอบใจที่คงอยู่ตลอดไป และความหวังที่ดีแก่เราด้วยพระคุณ
17Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.
17ปลอบใจพวกคุณ และทำให้พวกคุณมั่นคงในงานและคำพูดที่ดีทุกอย่าง
