1Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.
1ส่วนเรื่องที่พวกคุณเขียนมาถามข้าพเจ้า เป็นการดีที่ผู้ชายจะไม่ร่วมหลับนอนกับผู้หญิง
2Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
2แต่เพราะมีการผิดศีลธรรมทางเพศ ผู้ชายแต่ละคนจงมีภรรยาของตนเอง และผู้หญิงแต่ละคนจงมีสามีของตนเอง
3Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.
3สามีจงให้ความรักใคร่แก่ภรรยาตามที่ควรให้ และภรรยาก็จงทำเช่นเดียวกันแก่สามี
4The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
4ภรรยาไม่มีอำนาจเหนือร่างกายของตนเอง แต่สามีมี เช่นเดียวกัน สามีก็ไม่มีอำนาจเหนือร่างกายของตนเอง แต่ภรรยามี
5Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.
5อย่างดมีความสัมพันธ์กัน เว้นแต่พวกคุณตกลงกันชั่วระยะหนึ่ง เพื่ออุทิศตัวให้กับการอดอาหารและการอธิษฐาน แล้วจึงกลับมาอยู่ร่วมกันอีก เพื่อซาตานจะไม่ทดลองพวกคุณเพราะพวกคุณขาดการควบคุมตนเอง
6But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment.
6แต่ข้าพเจ้าพูดอย่างนี้เป็นการผ่อนปรน ไม่ใช่เป็นคำสั่ง
7For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that.
7ข้าพเจ้าอยากให้ทุกคนเป็นเหมือนข้าพเจ้า ถึงอย่างนั้น แต่ละคนก็มีของประทานของตนจากพระเจ้า คนหนึ่งอย่างหนึ่ง อีกคนอย่างหนึ่ง
8I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I.
8ส่วนคนที่ยังไม่ได้แต่งงานและแม่ม่าย ข้าพเจ้าขอบอกว่า ถ้าพวกเขาอยู่อย่างข้าพเจ้าต่อไปก็เป็นการดี
9But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.
9แต่ถ้าพวกเขาควบคุมตนเองไม่ได้ ก็ให้แต่งงาน เพราะแต่งงานยังดีกว่าถูกความปรารถนาเผาร้อน
10And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:
10ส่วนคนที่แต่งงานแล้ว ข้าพเจ้าสั่ง—ไม่ใช่ข้าพเจ้า แต่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าทรงสั่ง—ว่า ภรรยาอย่าแยกจากสามี
11But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.
11(แต่ถ้าเธอแยกไป ก็ให้อยู่เป็นโสด หรือไม่ก็คืนดีกับสามี) และสามีอย่าแยกจากภรรยา
12But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away.
12ส่วนคนอื่น ๆ ข้าพเจ้าเป็นผู้พูด ไม่ใช่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า ถ้าพี่น้องชายคนใดมีภรรยาที่ไม่เชื่อ และเธอพอใจจะอยู่กับเขา เขาอย่าแยกจากเธอ
13And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.
13และหญิงคนใดมีสามีที่ไม่เชื่อ และเขาพอใจจะอยู่กับเธอ เธออย่าแยกจากสามี
14For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.
14เพราะสามีที่ไม่เชื่อก็ได้รับการชำระให้บริสุทธิ์เนื่องด้วยภรรยา และภรรยาที่ไม่เชื่อก็ได้รับการชำระให้บริสุทธิ์เนื่องด้วยสามี มิฉะนั้น ลูกของพวกคุณก็จะเป็นมลทิน แต่ตอนนี้พวกเขาบริสุทธิ์
15But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases : but God hath called us to peace.
15แต่ถ้าฝ่ายที่ไม่เชื่อจะแยกไป ก็ให้แยกไป ในกรณีเช่นนี้ พี่น้องชายหรือพี่น้องหญิงไม่ถูกผูกมัด พระเจ้าทรงเรียกเราให้อยู่ในสันติสุข
16For what knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? or how knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife?
16ภรรยาเอ๋ย ท่านจะรู้ได้อย่างไรว่าท่านจะช่วยสามีให้รอดหรือไม่? หรือสามีเอ๋ย ท่านจะรู้ได้อย่างไรว่าท่านจะช่วยภรรยาให้รอดหรือไม่?
17But as God hath distributed to every man, as the Lord hath called every one, so let him walk. And so ordain I in all churches.
17อย่างไรก็ตาม แต่ละคนจงดำเนินชีวิตตามส่วนที่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าทรงจัดให้ และตามสภาพที่พระเจ้าทรงเรียกเขา ข้าพเจ้าวางกฎนี้ไว้ในทุกประชาคม
18Is any man called being circumcised? let him not become uncircumcised. Is any called in uncircumcision? let him not be circumcised.
18มีใครได้รับการเรียกขณะที่เข้าสุหนัตแล้วหรือ? ก็อย่าพยายามลบร่องรอยการเข้าสุหนัต มีใครได้รับการเรียกขณะที่ยังไม่ได้เข้าสุหนัตหรือ? ก็อย่าไปเข้าสุหนัต
19Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.

20Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.
20แต่ละคนจงอยู่ต่อในสภาพที่ตนอยู่เมื่อได้รับการเรียก
21Art thou called being a servant? care not for it: but if thou mayest be made free, use it rather.
21ท่านได้รับการเรียกขณะเป็นทาสหรือ? อย่ากังวลเรื่องนั้น แต่ถ้าท่านมีโอกาสเป็นอิสระ ก็จงใช้โอกาสนั้น
22For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord’s freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ’s servant.
22เพราะคนที่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าทรงเรียกขณะเป็นทาส ก็เป็นคนอิสระขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า เช่นเดียวกัน คนที่ได้รับการเรียกขณะเป็นอิสระ ก็เป็นทาสของพระคริสต์
23Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.
23พวกคุณถูกซื้อไว้ด้วยราคา อย่าเป็นทาสของมนุษย์
24Brethren, let every man, wherein he is called, therein abide with God.
24พี่น้องทั้งหลาย แต่ละคนอยู่ในสภาพใดเมื่อได้รับการเรียก ก็จงอยู่ในสภาพนั้นกับพระเจ้าต่อไป
25Now concerning virgins I have no commandment of the Lord: yet I give my judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be faithful.
25ส่วนเรื่องหญิงพรหมจารี ข้าพเจ้าไม่มีคำสั่งจากองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า แต่ข้าพเจ้าให้ความเห็น ในฐานะคนที่ได้รับความเมตตาจากองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าให้เป็นผู้ที่ไว้ใจได้
26I suppose therefore that this is good for the present distress, I say , that it is good for a man so to be.
26เพราะความยากลำบากที่กำลังเกิดขึ้น ข้าพเจ้าจึงคิดว่าเป็นการดีที่แต่ละคนจะคงอยู่ตามสภาพที่เป็นอยู่
27Art thou bound unto a wife? seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife? seek not a wife.
27ท่านผูกพันกับภรรยาอยู่หรือ? อย่าหาทางหลุดจากความผูกพัน ท่านไม่ได้ผูกพันกับภรรยาหรือ? อย่าหาภรรยา
28But and if thou marry, thou hast not sinned; and if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned. Nevertheless such shall have trouble in the flesh: but I spare you.
28แต่ถ้าท่านแต่งงาน ท่านก็ไม่ได้ทำบาป และถ้าหญิงพรหมจารีแต่งงาน เธอก็ไม่ได้ทำบาป แต่คนที่แต่งงานจะพบความทุกข์ยากในชีวิตนี้ และข้าพเจ้าอยากให้พวกคุณพ้นจากเรื่องนั้น
29But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none;
29พี่น้องทั้งหลาย ข้าพเจ้าหมายความว่า เวลาเหลือน้อย ตั้งแต่นี้ไป คนที่มีภรรยาจงเป็นเหมือนไม่มี
30And they that weep, as though they wept not; and they that rejoice, as though they rejoiced not; and they that buy, as though they possessed not;
30คนที่ร้องไห้จงเป็นเหมือนไม่ร้องไห้ คนที่ยินดีจงเป็นเหมือนไม่ยินดี คนที่ซื้อจงเป็นเหมือนไม่ได้ครอบครอง
31And they that use this world, as not abusing it : for the fashion of this world passeth away.
31และคนที่ใช้สิ่งต่าง ๆ ในโลกนี้ จงเป็นเหมือนคนที่ไม่ได้ใช้มันอย่างเต็มที่ เพราะรูปแบบของโลกนี้กำลังผ่านไป
32But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord:
32ข้าพเจ้าอยากให้พวกคุณพ้นจากความกังวล คนที่ยังไม่ได้แต่งงานเอาใจใส่เรื่องขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า ว่าจะทำอย่างไรให้องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพอใจ
33But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife.
33แต่คนที่แต่งงานแล้วเอาใจใส่เรื่องของโลก ว่าจะทำอย่างไรให้ภรรยาพอใจ
34There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.
34ภรรยากับหญิงพรหมจารีก็มีความแตกต่างกัน หญิงที่ยังไม่ได้แต่งงานเอาใจใส่เรื่องขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า เพื่อเธอจะบริสุทธิ์ทั้งร่างกายและจิตวิญญาณ แต่หญิงที่แต่งงานแล้วเอาใจใส่เรื่องของโลก ว่าจะทำอย่างไรให้สามีพอใจ
35And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.
35ข้าพเจ้าพูดเรื่องนี้เพื่อประโยชน์ของพวกคุณเอง ไม่ใช่เพื่อวางบ่วงผูกมัดพวกคุณ แต่เพื่อให้พวกคุณทำสิ่งที่เหมาะสม และเอาใจใส่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าโดยไม่มีสิ่งใดแบ่งใจ
36But if any man think that he behaveth himself uncomely toward his virgin, if she pass the flower of her age, and need so require, let him do what he will, he sinneth not: let them marry.
36แต่ถ้าชายคนใดคิดว่าตนปฏิบัติต่อหญิงพรหมจารีของตนอย่างไม่เหมาะสม ถ้าเธอพ้นวัยสาวแล้ว และจำเป็นต้องเป็นเช่นนั้น ก็ให้เขาทำตามที่ต้องการ เขาไม่ได้ทำบาป ให้พวกเขาแต่งงานกัน
37Nevertheless he that standeth stedfast in his heart, having no necessity, but hath power over his own will, and hath so decreed in his heart that he will keep his virgin, doeth well.
37แต่คนที่มั่นคงในใจ ไม่มีความจำเป็นบีบบังคับ และมีอำนาจเหนือความประสงค์ของตนเอง ถ้าเขาตัดสินใจในใจว่าจะรักษาหญิงพรหมจารีของตนไว้ เขาก็ทำดี
38So then he that giveth her in marriage doeth well; but he that giveth her not in marriage doeth better.
38ดังนั้น คนที่ให้หญิงพรหมจารีของตนแต่งงานก็ทำดี และคนที่ไม่ให้แต่งงานก็ทำดีกว่า
39The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord.
39ภรรยาถูกผูกพันตามกฎหมายตราบเท่าที่สามียังมีชีวิต แต่ถ้าสามีตาย เธอก็มีอิสระที่จะแต่งงานกับใครก็ได้ตามที่ต้องการ เพียงแต่คนนั้นต้องอยู่ในองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า
40But she is happier if she so abide, after my judgment: and I think also that I have the Spirit of God.
40แต่ตามความเห็นของข้าพเจ้า ถ้าเธอคงอยู่อย่างเดิมก็จะมีความสุขกว่า และข้าพเจ้าคิดว่าข้าพเจ้าก็มีพระวิญญาณของพระเจ้า
