Proverbs 5

1My son, attend unto my wisdom; incline thine ear to my understanding;
1我兒，要留心我智慧的話語， 側耳聽我聰明的言詞，
2That thou mayest preserve discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.
2為要使你謹守謀略， 嘴唇保存知識。
3For the lips of a strange woman drop honey, and her mouth is smoother than oil;
3因為淫婦的嘴滴下蜂蜜； 她的口比油更滑，
4But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword.
4至終卻苦似茵蔯， 快如兩刃的刀。
5Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on the nether-world;
5她的腳下入死地； 她腳步踏住陰間，
6Lest she should walk the even path of life, her ways wander, but she knoweth it not.
6以致她找不着生命平坦的道。 她的路變遷不定， 自己還不知道。
7Now therefore, O ye children, hearken unto me, and depart not from the words of my mouth.
7眾子啊，現在要聽從我； 不可離棄我口中的話。
8Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house;
8你所行的道要離她遠， 不可就近她的房門，
9Lest thou give thy vigour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel;
9恐怕將你的尊榮給別人， 將你的歲月給殘忍的人；
10Lest strangers be filled with thy strength, and thy labours be in the house of an alien;
10恐怕外人滿得你的力量， 你勞碌得來的，歸入外人的家；
11And thou moan, when thine end cometh, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,
11終久，你皮肉和身體消毀， 你就悲歎，
12And say: 'How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;
12說：我怎麼恨惡訓誨， 心中藐視責備，
13Neither have I hearkened to the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!
13也不聽從我師傅的話， 又不側耳聽那教訓我的人？
14I was well nigh in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.'
14我在 聖 會裏， 幾乎落在諸般惡中。
15Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well.
15你要喝自己池中的水， 飲自己井裏的活水。
16Let thy springs be dispersed abroad, and courses of water in the streets.
16你的泉源豈可漲溢在外？ 你的河水豈可流在街上？
17Let them be only thine own, and not strangers' with thee.
17惟獨歸你一人， 不可與外人同用。
18Let thy fountain be blessed; and have joy of the wife of thy youth.
18要使你的泉源蒙福； 要喜悅你幼年所娶的妻。
19A lovely hind and a graceful doe, let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; with her love be thou ravished always.
19她如可愛的麀鹿，可喜的母鹿； 願她的胸懷使你時時知足， 她的愛情使你常常戀慕。
20Why then wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of an alien?
20我兒，你為何戀慕淫婦？ 為何抱外女的胸懷？
21For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and He maketh even all his paths.
21因為，人所行的道都在耶和華眼前； 他也修平人一切的路。
22His own iniquities shall ensnare the wicked, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sin.
22惡人必被自己的罪孽捉住； 他必被自己的罪惡如繩索纏繞。
23He shall die for lack of instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall reel.
23他因不受訓誨就必死亡； 又因愚昧過甚，必走差了路。
