1あなたがたの父祖の神、主があなたに与えて所有させてくださる地において、あなたがたが地上に生きるすべての日の間、注意して行うべき掟と法はこれである。
1These are the statutes and the ordinances, which ye shall observe to do in the land which the LORD, the God of thy fathers, hath given thee to possess it, all the days that ye live upon the earth.
2あなたがたが追い払う国々の民がその神々に仕えたすべての場所、すなわち高い山の上、丘の上、すべての青々とした木の下を、あなたがたは完全に滅ぼせ。
2Ye shall surely destroy all the places, wherein the nations that ye are to dispossess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every leafy tree.
3彼らの祭壇を打ち壊し、石柱を砕き、アシェラ柱を火で焼き、神々の彫像を切り倒せ。その名をその場所から消し去れ。
3And ye shall break down their altars, and dash in pieces their pillars, and burn their Asherim with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods; and ye shall destroy their name out of that place.
4あなたがたの神、主に対して、そのように行ってはならない。
4Ye shall not do so unto the LORD your God.
5そうではなく、あなたの神、主がご自分の名を置くため、すべての部族の中から選ばれる場所、主の住まいを求め、そこへ行け。
5But unto the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put His name there, even unto His habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come;
6そこへ、全焼のささげ物、いけにえ、十分の一のささげ物、手の揺り動かすささげ物、誓願のささげ物、自発的なささげ物、牛や羊の群れの初子を持って行け。
6and thither ye shall bring your burnt-offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and the offering of your hand, and your vows, and your freewill-offerings, and the firstlings of your herd and of your flock;
7そこであなたがたは、あなたの神、主の前で食べなさい。あなたとあなたの家族は、あなたの神、主があなたを祝福してくださったあなたの手のすべての働きを喜び楽しみなさい。
7and there ye shall eat before the LORD your God, and ye shall rejoice in all that ye put your hand unto, ye and your households, wherein the LORD thy God hath blessed thee.
8わたしたちが今日ここでしているように、それぞれが自分の目に正しいと見えることを行ってはならない。
8Ye shall not do after all that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes;
9あなたの神、主があなたに与えようとしておられる安息の場所と所有地に、あなたがたはまだ入っていないからである。
9for ye are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which the LORD your God giveth thee.
10しかし、あなたがたがヨルダン川を渡り、あなたの神、主が受け継がせてくださるその地に住み、主が周囲のすべての敵からあなたがたに安息を与えられ、あなたがたが安全に住むようになったとき、
10But when ye go over the Jordan, and dwell in the land which the LORD your God causeth you to inherit, and He giveth you rest from all your enemies round about, so that ye dwell in safety;
11あなたの神、主がご自分の名を住まわせるために選ばれる場所がある。そこへ、わたしがあなたに命じるすべてのもの、すなわちあなたの全焼のささげ物、いけにえ、十分の一のささげ物、あなたの手の揺り動かすささげ物、そしてあなたが主に誓うすべてのえり抜きの誓願のささげ物を持って行け。
11then it shall come to pass that the place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause His name to dwell there, thither shall ye bring all that I command you: your burnt-offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye vow unto the LORD.
12あなたがたは、あなたの神、主の前で喜び楽しみなさい。あなたと、あなたの息子たち、娘たち、男奴隷、女奴隷、そしてあなたの町に住むレビ人も同様である。彼にはあなたとともに持つ割り当ても所有地もないからである。
12And ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God, ye, and your sons, and your daughters, and your men-servants, and your maid-servants, and the Levite that is within your gates, forasmuch as he hath no portion nor inheritance with you.
13あなたが見るどの場所でも全焼のささげ物をささげないように気をつけなさい。
13Take heed to thyself that thou offer not thy burnt-offerings in every place that thou seest;
14ただ、主があなたの部族の一つの中に選ばれる場所で全焼のささげ物を献げ、そこでわたしが命じるすべてのことを行え。
14but in the place which the LORD shall choose in one of thy tribes, there thou shalt offer thy burnt-offerings, and there thou shalt do all that I command thee.
15ただし、あなたの神、主が与えられた祝福に応じ、どの町でも望むままに家畜を屠って肉を食べてよい。汚れた者もきよい者も、かもしかや鹿の肉と同じように食べてよい。
15Notwithstanding thou mayest kill and eat flesh within all thy gates, after all the desire of thy soul, according to the blessing of the LORD thy God which He hath given thee; the unclean and the clean may eat thereof, as of the gazelle, and as of the hart.
16ただし、血を食べてはならない。水のように地面に注ぎ出せ。
16Only ye shall not eat the blood; thou shalt pour it out upon the earth as water.
17あなたは、あなたの穀物、新しいぶどう酒、油の十分の一、牛や羊の群れの初子、あなたが誓うすべての誓願のささげ物、自発的なささげ物、あなたの手の揺り動かすささげ物を、自分の町で食べてはならない。
17Thou mayest not eat within thy gates the tithe of thy corn, or of thy wine, or of thine oil, or the firstlings of thy herd or of thy flock, nor any of thy vows which thou vowest, nor thy freewill-offerings, nor the offering of thy hand;
18ただ、あなたの神、主が選ばれる場所で、あなたの神、主の前でそれを食べよ。あなたも、あなたの息子、娘、男奴隷、女奴隷、そしてあなたの町に住むレビ人も同様である。あなたは、あなたの手のすべての働きについて、あなたの神、主の前で喜び楽しみなさい。
18but thou shalt eat them before the LORD thy God in the place which the LORD thy God shall choose, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy man-servant, and thy maid-servant, and the Levite that is within thy gates; and thou shalt rejoice before the LORD thy God in all that thou puttest thy hand unto.
19あなたが自分の地に生きている間、レビ人を見捨てないように気をつけなさい。
19Take heed to thyself that thou forsake not the Levite as long as thou livest upon thy land.
20あなたの神、主が約束どおり領土を広げられ、あなたが肉を食べたいと思うときは、望むままに肉を食べてよい。
20When the LORD thy God shall enlarge thy border, as He hath promised thee, and thou shalt say: 'I will eat flesh', because thy soul desireth to eat flesh; thou mayest eat flesh, after all the desire of thy soul.
21あなたの神、主がご自分の名を置くために選ばれる場所が遠いなら、主が与えられた牛や羊を、わたしが命じたとおりに屠り、町の中で望むままに食べてよい。
21If the place which the LORD thy God shall choose to put His name there be too far from thee, then thou shalt kill of thy herd and of thy flock, which the LORD hath given thee, as I have commanded thee, and thou shalt eat within thy gates, after all the desire of thy soul.
22ガゼルや鹿が食べられるように、あなたはそれを食べてもよい。汚れた者もきよい者も等しくそれを食べてもよい。
22Howbeit as the gazelle and as the hart is eaten, so thou shalt eat thereof; the unclean and the clean may eat thereof alike.
23ただ、血を食べないように十分気をつけなさい。血は命だからである。肉と一緒に命を食べてはならない。
23Only be stedfast in not eating the blood; for the blood is the life; and thou shalt not eat the life with the flesh.
24それを食べてはならない。水のように地面に注ぎ出せ。
24Thou shalt not eat it; thou shalt pour it out upon the earth as water.
25それを食べてはならない。それは、あなたが主の目に正しいことを行い、あなたとあなたの後の子供たちが幸いを得るためである。
25Thou shalt not eat it; that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, when thou shalt do that which is right in the eyes of the LORD.
26ただ、あなたの持つ聖なるもの、およびあなたの誓願のささげ物は、主が選ばれる場所へ持って行け。
26Only thy holy things which thou hast, and thy vows, thou shalt take, and go unto the place which the LORD shall choose;
27あなたは全焼のささげ物の肉と血を、あなたの神、主の祭壇の上にささげなさい。あなたのいけにえの血はあなたの神、主の祭壇に注ぎ出せが、肉はあなたが食べてもよい。
27and thou shalt offer thy burnt-offerings, the flesh and the blood, upon the altar of the LORD thy God; and the blood of thy sacrifices shall be poured out against the altar of the LORD thy God, and thou shalt eat the flesh.
28あなたの神、主の御目に良くて正しいことを行い、あなたとあなたの後の子供たちが永遠に幸いを得るために、わたしがあなたに命じるこれらのすべての言葉に注意して聞き従いなさい。
28Observe and hear all these words which I command thee, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee for ever, when thou doest that which is good and right in the eyes of the LORD thy God.
29あなたが所有するために入って行く地の国々の民を、あなたの神、主があなたの前から断ち滅ぼし、あなたが彼らを所有して彼らの地に住むとき、
29When the LORD thy God shall cut off the nations from before thee, whither thou goest in to dispossess them, and thou dispossessest them, and dwellest in their land;
30彼らがあなたの前から滅ぼされた後で、彼らに倣って罠にかからないように、また彼らの神々を探し求めて、「これらの国々の民はどのようにしてその神々に仕えたのだろうか。私も同じようにしよう」と言わないように気をつけなさい。
30take heed to thyself that thou be not ensnared to follow them, after that they are destroyed from before thee; and that thou inquire not after their gods, saying: 'How used these nations to serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.'
31あなたはあなたの神、主に対して、そのように行ってはならない。彼らは主が憎まれるあらゆる忌まわしいことをその神々に対して行ったからである。彼らは自分たちの神々に、息子や娘たちさえも火で燃やしてささげるのである。
31Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God; for every abomination to the LORD, which He hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters do they burn in the fire to their gods.
32わたしが命じるすべてのことを注意して行え。それに付け加えてはならず、そこから減らしてもならない。
32(13-1) All this word which I command you, that shall ye observe to do; thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.
