Clementine Vulgate, 1598
1Praise the LORD, for it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant and fitting to praise him.
1Alleluja. [Lauda, Jerusalem, Dominum; lauda Deum tuum, Sion.
2The LORD builds up Jerusalem. He gathers together the outcasts of Israel.
2Quoniam confortavit seras portarum tuarum; benedixit filiis tuis in te.
3He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds.
3Qui posuit fines tuos pacem, et adipe frumenti satiat te.
4He counts the number of the stars. He calls them all by their names.
4Qui emittit eloquium suum terræ: velociter currit sermo ejus.
5Great is our Lord, and mighty in power. His understanding is infinite.
5Qui dat nivem sicut lanam; nebulam sicut cinerem spargit.
6The LORD upholds the humble. He brings the wicked down to the ground.
6Mittit crystallum suam sicut buccellas: ante faciem frigoris ejus quis sustinebit?
7Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving. Sing praises on the harp to our God,
7Emittet verbum suum, et liquefaciet ea; flabit spiritus ejus, et fluent aquæ.
8who covers the sky with clouds, who prepares rain for the earth, who makes grass grow on the mountains.
8Qui annuntiat verbum suum Jacob, justitias et judicia sua Israël.
9He provides food for the livestock, and for the young ravens when they call.
9Non fecit taliter omni nationi, et judicia sua non manifestavit eis. Alleluja.]
10He doesn’t delight in the strength of the horse. He takes no pleasure in the legs of a man.
