Clementine Vulgate, 1598
1To you, LORD, I lift up my soul.
1In finem. Psalmus David. [Judica me, Domine, quoniam ego in innocentia mea ingressus sum, et in Domino sperans non infirmabor.
2My God, I have trusted in you. Don’t let me be shamed. Don’t let my enemies triumph over me.
2Proba me, Domine, et tenta me; ure renes meos et cor meum.
3Yes, no one who waits for you will be shamed. They will be shamed who deal treacherously without cause.
3Quoniam misericordia tua ante oculos meos est, et complacui in veritate tua.
4Show me your ways, LORD. Teach me your paths.
4Non sedi cum concilio vanitatis, et cum iniqua gerentibus non introibo.
5Guide me in your truth, and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation. I wait for you all day long.
5Odivi ecclesiam malignantium, et cum impiis non sedebo.
6LORD, remember your tender mercies and your loving kindness, for they are from old times.
6Lavabo inter innocentes manus meas, et circumdabo altare tuum, Domine:
7Don’t remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions. Remember me according to your loving kindness, for your goodness’ sake, LORD.
7ut audiam vocem laudis, et enarrem universa mirabilia tua.
8Good and upright is the LORD, therefore he will instruct sinners in the way.
8Domine, dilexi decorem domus tuæ, et locum habitationis gloriæ tuæ.
9He will guide the humble in justice. He will teach the humble his way.
9Ne perdas cum impiis, Deus, animam meam, et cum viris sanguinum vitam meam:
10All the paths of the LORD are loving kindness and truth to such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
10in quorum manibus iniquitates sunt; dextera eorum repleta est muneribus.
11For your name’s sake, LORD, pardon my iniquity, for it is great.
11Ego autem in innocentia mea ingressus sum; redime me, et miserere mei.
12What man is he who fears the LORD? He shall instruct him in the way that he shall choose.
12Pes meus stetit in directo; in ecclesiis benedicam te, Domine.]
13His soul will dwell at ease. His offspring will inherit the land.
