1ชาวยูดาห์ทั้งหมดตั้งอุสซียาห์บุตรอามาสิยาห์ อายุ 16 ปี ขึ้นครองราชย์แทนบิดา
1And all the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the room of his father Amaziah.
2เขาสร้างเมืองเอโลทและนำกลับมาอยู่ใต้อำนาจยูดาห์ หลังจากกษัตริย์บิดาสิ้นชีวิต
2He built Eloth, and restored it to Judah, after that the king slept with his fathers.
3อุสซียาห์ขึ้นครองราชย์เมื่ออายุ 16 ปี และครองราชย์ในเยรูซาเล็ม 52 ปี มารดาชื่อเยโคลิยาห์ชาวเยรูซาเล็ม
3Sixteen years old was Uzziah when he began to reign; and he reigned fifty and two years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Jecoliah of Jerusalem.
4เขาทำสิ่งที่ถูกต้องในสายพระเนตรพระยาห์เวห์ เหมือนที่อามาสิยาห์บิดาทำ
4And he did that, which was right in the eyes of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah had done.
5เขาตั้งใจแสวงหาพระเจ้าในสมัยเศคาริยาห์ ผู้เข้าใจนิมิตของพระเจ้า ตราบใดที่เขาแสวงหาพระยาห์เวห์ พระเจ้าทรงให้เขาเจริญรุ่งเรือง
5And he set himself to seek God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the vision of God; and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper.
6เขาไปรบกับชาวฟีลิสเตีย ทำลายกำแพงเมืองกัท ยับเนห์ และอัชโดด แล้วสร้างเมืองต่าง ๆ ในเขตอัชโดดและท่ามกลางชาวฟีลิสเตีย
6And he went forth and warred against the Philistines, and broke down the wall of Gath, and the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod; and he built cities in the country of Ashdod, and among the Philistines.
7พระเจ้าทรงช่วยเขารบกับชาวฟีลิสเตีย ชาวอาหรับที่อาศัยอยู่ในกูร์บาอัล และชาวเมอูนิม
7And God helped him against the Philistines, and against the Arabians that dwelt in Gur-baal, and the Meunim.
8ชาวอัมโมนนำบรรณาการมาถวายอุสซียาห์ ชื่อเสียงของเขาแพร่ไปจนถึงทางเข้าอียิปต์ เพราะเขามีอำนาจมาก
8And the Ammonites gave gifts to Uzziah; and his name spread abroad even to the entrance of Egypt; for he waxed exceeding strong.
9อุสซียาห์สร้างหอคอยในเยรูซาเล็มที่ประตูมุม ประตูหุบเขา และตรงมุมกำแพง แล้วเสริมให้แข็งแรง
9Moreover Uzziah built towers in Jerusalem at the corner gate, and at the valley gate, and at the Turning, and fortified them.
10เขาสร้างหอคอยในถิ่นทุรกันดารและขุดบ่อเก็บน้ำมากมาย เพราะมีฝูงสัตว์มากทั้งในที่ราบต่ำและที่ราบ เขามีคนทำไร่และสวนองุ่นตามภูเขาและที่ดินอุดมสมบูรณ์ เพราะเขารักงานเกษตร
10And be built towers in the wilderness, and hewed out many cisterns, for he had much cattle; in the Lowland also, and in the table-land; and he had husbandmen and vinedressers in the mountains and in the fruitful fields; for he loved husbandry.
11อุสซียาห์มีกองทัพแบ่งเป็นหมวดตามบัญชีที่เยอีเอลผู้จดบันทึกกับมาอาเสอาห์เจ้าหน้าที่จัดทำ ภายใต้การดูแลของฮานานิยาห์ผู้บังคับบัญชาคนหนึ่งของกษัตริย์
11Moreover Uzziah had an army of fighting men, that went out to war by bands, according to the number of their reckoning made by Jeiel the scribe and Maaseiah the officer, under the hand of Hananiah, one of the king's captains.
12หัวหน้าวงศ์วานซึ่งเป็นนักรบกล้าหาญมี 2,600 คน
12The whole number of the heads of fathers' houses, even the mighty men of valour, was two thousand and six hundred.
13พวกเขาบังคับบัญชาทหาร 307,500 คน ผู้มีกำลังรบช่วยกษัตริย์ต่อสู้ศัตรู
13And under their hand was a trained army, three hundred thousand and seven thousand and five hundred, that made war with mighty power, to help the king against the enemy.
14อุสซียาห์เตรียมโล่ หอก หมวกเกราะ เสื้อเกราะ ธนู และหินสำหรับสายเหวี่ยงให้ทหารทั้งหมด
14And Uzziah prepared for them, even for all the host, shields, and spears, and helmets, and coats of mail, and bows, and stones for slinging.
15เขาให้ช่างฝีมือประดิษฐ์เครื่องยิงธนูและก้อนหินใหญ่ติดบนหอคอยกับเชิงเทินในเยรูซาเล็ม ชื่อเสียงของเขาแพร่ไกล เพราะได้รับความช่วยเหลืออย่างน่าอัศจรรย์จนเข้มแข็ง
15And he made in Jerusalem engines, invented by skilful men, to be on the towers and upon the corners, wherewith to shoot arrows and great stones. And his name spread far abroad; for he was marvellously helped, till he was strong.
16แต่เมื่อเขาเข้มแข็งแล้ว ก็หยิ่งผยองจนทำผิด เขาล่วงละเมิดต่อพระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของตน โดยเข้าไปในพระวิหารของพระยาห์เวห์เพื่อเผาเครื่องหอมบนแท่นเครื่องหอม
16But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up so that he did corruptly, and he trespassed against the LORD his God; for he went into the temple of the LORD to burn incense upon the altar of incense.
17อาซาริยาห์ปุโรหิตตามเข้าไป พร้อมปุโรหิตของพระยาห์เวห์อีก 80 คนซึ่งกล้าหาญ
17And Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him fourscore priests of the LORD, that were valiant men;
18พวกเขายืนขวางกษัตริย์อุสซียาห์และทูลว่า “ฝ่าพระบาทไม่มีสิทธิ์เผาเครื่องหอมถวายพระยาห์เวห์ หน้าที่นี้เป็นของปุโรหิตลูกหลานอาโรนที่ได้รับการแต่งตั้งให้ทำ จงเสด็จออกจากสถานศักดิ์สิทธิ์ ฝ่าพระบาททรงล่วงละเมิดแล้ว การกระทำนี้จะไม่นำเกียรติจากพระยาห์เวห์องค์พระเจ้ามาให้”
18and they withstood Uzziah the king, and said unto him: 'It pertaineth not unto thee, Uzziah, to burn incense unto the LORD, but to the priests the sons of Aaron that are consecrated it pertaineth to burn incense; go out of the sanctuary; for thou hast trespassed; neither shall it be for thy honour from the LORD God.'
19อุสซียาห์โกรธปุโรหิตมาก ขณะเขาถือกระถางไฟสำหรับเผาเครื่องหอมอยู่นั้น โรคเรื้อนก็ผุดขึ้นบนหน้าผากเขาต่อหน้าพวกเขาในพระวิหารของพระยาห์เวห์ ข้างแท่นเครื่องหอม
19Then Uzziah was wroth; and he had a censer in his hand to burn incense; and while he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy broke forth in his forehead before the priests in the house of the LORD, beside the altar of incense.
20อาซาริยาห์ปุโรหิตใหญ่กับปุโรหิตทั้งหมดเห็นโรคเรื้อนที่หน้าผาก จึงรีบพาเขาออกไป ตัวเขาเองก็รีบออก เพราะพระยาห์เวห์ทรงลงโทษเขา
20And Azariah the chief priest, and all the priests, looked upon him, and, behold, he was leprous in his forehead, and they thrust him out quickly from thence; yea, himself made haste also to go out, because the LORD had smitten him.
21กษัตริย์อุสซียาห์เป็นโรคเรื้อนจนวันสิ้นชีวิต ต้องอยู่ในบ้านแยกต่างหาก และถูกห้ามเข้าพระวิหารของพระยาห์เวห์ โยธามบุตรชายดูแลวังและปกครองประชาชนแทน
21And Uzziah the king was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a house set apart, being a leper; for he was cut off from the house of the LORD; and Jotham his son was over the king's house, judging the people of the land.

22Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah, first and last, did Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, write.
23อุสซียาห์สิ้นชีวิต พวกเขาฝังเขาใกล้บรรพบุรุษในบริเวณสุสานของกษัตริย์ เพราะกล่าวว่า “เขาเป็นโรคเรื้อน” โยธามบุตรชายขึ้นครองราชย์แทน
23So Uzziah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in the field of burial which belonged to the kings; for they said: 'He is a leper'; and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.
