Kadede Kap (Pohnpeian New Testament and Psalms)
Berean Standard Bible
1IEI Melkijedek nanmarki en Jalem o jamero en Kot lapalap amen, me kotilan tu on Apraam, ni a pure do jan a kaloedi nanmarki kai, ap kapaida I.
1This Melchizedek was king of Salem and priest of God Most High. He met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him,
2Me Apraam pil kotiki on eijok kij eu jan ni a dipijou karoj. let wewe kaieu en mar a Nanmarki en pun; ap pil: Nanmarki en Jalem, iet wewe: Nanmarki en popol;
2and Abraham apportioned to him a tenth of everything. First, his name means “king of righteousness.” Then also, “king of Salem” means “king of peace.”
3Me jota jam a, jota in a, jota a kainok, jota tapin a ran akan, pil jota imwin maur. A a raj on Japwilim en Kot, o a pan jamero kokolata.
3Without father or mother or genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, like the Son of God, he remains a priest for all time.
4Komail kilan ol lapalap men et, me jam atail Apraam kotiki on eijok kij eu en a dipijou, me lodier.
4Consider how great Melchizedek was: Even the patriarch Abraham gave him a tenth of the plunder.
5Melel eta kadaudok en Lewi, me kajapwiladan dodok en jamero, arail kujoned mia, me ren ale jan ren aramaj akan, iei ri arail akan, eijok kij eu, duen kapun, a ir pil kijan kadaudok en Apraam.
5Now the law commands the sons of Levi who become priests to collect a tenth from the people—that is, from their brothers—though they too are descended from Abraham.
6A i, me jota kijan irail, ale eijok kij eu jan ren Apraam o kapaiada i, me aleer inau o.
6But Melchizedek, who did not trace his descent from Levi, collected a tenth from Abraham and blessed him who had the promises.
7Nan melel kaualap me tikitik o kin paida jan ren me lapalap.
7And indisputably, the lesser is blessed by the greater.
8Ari met, aramaj akan me udan mela, kin ale eijok kij eu, a mo amen, me kadedepa mia, duen a ieiajata.
8In the case of the Levites, mortal men collect the tenth; but in the case of Melchizedek, it is affirmed that he lives on.
9Ari melel, pil kadaudok en Lewi me kin ale eijok kij eu, kida eijok kij eu on (Melkijedek) ki Apraam.
9And so to speak, Levi, who collects the tenth, paid the tenth through Abraham.
10Pwe a mimieta nan lonelon en jam a, ni anjau Melkijedek kotilan tu on i.
10For when Melchizedek met Abraham, Levi was still in the loin of his ancestor.
11Ari, ma dodok en jamero Lewi unjokela pwe i anjau irail aleer kapun o da katepan amen jamero en pwarado ni al en Melkijedek, a kaidin ni al en Aron?
11Now if perfection could have been attained through the Levitical priesthood (for on this basis the people received the law), why was there still need for another priest to appear—one in the order of Melchizedek and not in the order of Aaron?
12Pwe ma dodok en jamero wukila, nan kapun pan pil wukila.
12For when the priesthood is changed, the law must be changed as well.
13A i, me je indinda, i kijan eu kainok, a jota amen jan nan kadaudok wet apwalier pei jaraui.
13He of whom these things are said belonged to a different tribe, from which no one has ever served at the altar.
14Pwe meid janjal, me Kaun patail tapi jan luda. Ari, iran jau wet Mojej jota katitiki meakot duen jamero.
14For it is clear that our Lord descended from Judah, a tribe as to which Moses said nothing about priests.
15Mepukat janjal melel, ma amen jamero pan kotido ni al en Melkijedek,
15And this point is even more clear if another priest like Melchizedek appears,
16Me jota kajapwiladar pan tiak en kujoned uduken, pwe pan manaman en maur joutuk.
16one who has become a priest not by a law of succession, but by the power of an indestructible life.
17Pwe iet kadedepa: Komui jamero joutuk amen duen al en Melkijedek.
17For it is testified: “You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.”
18Pwe i me kujoned en maj nikier, pwe me luet o jota katepa,
18So the former commandment is set aside because it was weak and useless
19Pwe kapun jota kak kaun jokkala meakot, a kaporopor me mau jan men maj, pan id pwarado, me kitail kak tuki on Kot.
19(for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God.
20O iet pil eu kajampwal: Pwe a kajapwil kida kaula a irail wiala jamero ni jota kaula.
20And none of this happened without an oath. For others became priests without an oath,
21A men et japwilikida kaula ren i, me kotin majani on i: Kaun o kaular, a ap jota pan kalukila: Komui jamero joutuk amen duen al en Melkijedek.
21but Jesus became a priest with an oath by the One who said to Him: “The Lord has sworn and will not change His mind: ‘You are a priest forever.’”
22Iei me lejuj pil wiala kapun pan inau, me mau jan men maj.
22Because of this oath, Jesus has become the guarantee of a better covenant.
23A irail me toto, me wialar jamero, pweki ar matalar, kareda, me irail jota kak mimieta.
23Now there have been many other priests, since death prevented them from continuing in office.
24A i me potopoteta, pwe a kotin aleer dodok en jamero joutuk.
24But because Jesus lives forever, He has a permanent priesthood.
25Ari, i me a kotin kak kamaureda melel ir karoj, me kai ki on Kot i, pwe a kotin ieiajata, pwen laolao kin ir.
25Therefore He is able to save completely those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to intercede for them.
26Pwe iduen jamero lapalap me mau on kitail, me jaraui, o jo japun, o jo jamin, o me liki jan me dipan akan, o ileila jan nanlen.
26Such a high priest truly befits us—One who is holy, innocent, undefiled, set apart from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.
27Me jota rajon jamero lapalap akan, me kin kida maj mairon pweki pein dip arail ap pweki en aramaj akan ni ran karoj. Pwe i me a kotin wiadar pan pak ta ieu, ni a kotin mueid on Kot pein i.
27Unlike the other high priests, He does not need to offer daily sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the sins of the people; He sacrificed for sin once for all when He offered up Himself.
28Pwe kapun kin kajapwiladan jamero aramaj luet akan, a majan en kaula, me wiauier murin kapun, kajapwiladar Japwilim a, me unjokalar joutuk.
28For the law appoints as high priests men who are weak; but the oath, which came after the law, appointed the Son, who has been made perfect forever.
