1Thus saith the LORD , Where is the bill of your mother’s divorcement, whom I have put away? or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities have ye sold yourselves, and for your transgressions is your mother put away.
1พระยาห์เวห์กล่าวว่า “หนังสือหย่าของแม่พวกเจ้า ที่เราใช้หย่ากับเธอ อยู่ที่ไหน? หรือเราขายพวกเจ้าให้เจ้าหนี้คนไหนของเรา? ดูเถิด พวกเจ้าถูกขายเพราะความผิดของตน และแม่ของพวกเจ้าถูกหย่าเพราะการละเมิดของพวกเจ้า
2Wherefore, when I came, was there no man? when I called, was there none to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? or have I no power to deliver? behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish stinketh, because there is no water, and dieth for thirst.
2ทำไมเมื่อเรามา จึงไม่มีใครอยู่? เมื่อเราเรียก ทำไมจึงไม่มีใครตอบ? มือของเราสั้นลงจนไถ่ไม่ได้เลยหรือ? หรือเราไม่มีพลังที่จะช่วยให้รอด? ดูเถิด เพียงเราตวาด ทะเลก็แห้ง เราทำแม่น้ำให้เป็นถิ่นกันดาร ปลาในแม่น้ำเหม็นเน่าเพราะไม่มีน้ำ และตายเพราะกระหาย
3I clothe the heavens with blackness, and I make sackcloth their covering.
3เราห่มฟ้าสวรรค์ด้วยความดำมืด ให้ผ้ากระสอบเป็นสิ่งคลุมฟ้าสวรรค์”
4The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.
4พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ ให้ข้าพเจ้ามีลิ้นอย่างผู้ที่ได้รับการสอน เพื่อข้าพเจ้าจะรู้จักใช้คำพูดประคองคนที่เหนื่อยล้า ทุกเช้า พระองค์ปลุกข้าพเจ้า ทำให้หูของข้าพเจ้าตื่นตัวเพื่อฟังอย่างผู้ที่ได้รับการสอน
5¶ The Lord GOD hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back.
5พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ เปิดหูของข้าพเจ้า ข้าพเจ้าไม่ได้ขัดขืน และไม่ได้หันกลับ
6I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.
6ข้าพเจ้ายื่นหลังให้ผู้ที่ตีข้าพเจ้า ยื่นแก้มให้ผู้ที่ถอนหนวดเครา ไม่ซ่อนหน้าจากการทำให้อับอายและการถ่มน้ำลาย
7¶ For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.
7เพราะพระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ จะช่วยข้าพเจ้า ข้าพเจ้าจึงไม่ได้อับอาย ข้าพเจ้าจึงตั้งหน้าแน่วแน่เหมือนหินเหล็กไฟ และรู้ว่าข้าพเจ้าจะไม่ผิดหวัง
8He is near that justifieth me; who will contend with me? let us stand together: who is mine adversary? let him come near to me.
8ผู้ตัดสินว่าข้าพเจ้าชอบธรรมอยู่ใกล้ ใครจะกล่าวหาข้าพเจ้า? ให้พวกเรายืนเผชิญหน้ากัน ใครเป็นคู่กรณีของข้าพเจ้า? ให้เขาเข้ามาใกล้ข้าพเจ้า
9Behold, the Lord GOD will help me; who is he that shall condemn me? lo, they all shall wax old as a garment; the moth shall eat them up.
9ดูเถิด พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ จะช่วยข้าพเจ้า! ใครจะตัดสินว่าข้าพเจ้ามีความผิด? ดูเถิด พวกเขาทั้งหมดจะเก่าไปเหมือนเสื้อผ้า ตัวมอดจะกินพวกเขาจนหมด
10¶ Who is among you that feareth the LORD , that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the LORD , and stay upon his God.
10ใครในหมู่พวกเจ้ายำเกรงพระยาห์เวห์ และเชื่อฟังเสียงของผู้รับใช้พระองค์? ผู้ที่เดินอยู่ในความมืด และไม่มีแสงสว่าง จงวางใจในพระนามพระยาห์เวห์ และพึ่งพระเจ้าของตน
11Behold, all ye that kindle a fire, that compass yourselves about with sparks: walk in the light of your fire, and in the sparks that ye have kindled. This shall ye have of mine hand; ye shall lie down in sorrow.
11ดูเถิด พวกเจ้าทั้งหมดที่จุดไฟ และประดับตัวด้วยคบเพลิงรอบตัว จงเดินในเปลวไฟของตน และในหมู่คบเพลิงที่พวกเจ้าจุดขึ้น พวกเจ้าจะได้รับสิ่งนี้จากมือเรา พวกเจ้าจะนอนลงในความทุกข์ใจ
