1I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
1我勸你，第一要為萬人懇求、禱告、代求、祝謝；
2For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
2為君王和一切在位的， 也該如此 ，使我們可以敬虔、端正、平安無事地度日。
3For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
3這是好的，在上帝我們救主面前可蒙悅納。
4Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
4他願意萬人得救，明白真道。
5For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
5因為只有一位上帝，在上帝和人中間，只有一位中保，乃是 降世 為人的基督耶穌；
6Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
6他捨自己作萬人的贖價，到了時候，這事必證明出來。
7Where unto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.
7我為此奉派作傳道的，作使徒，作外邦人的師傅，教導他們相信，學習真道。我說的是真話，並不是謊言。
8I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
8我願男人無忿怒，無爭論，舉起聖潔的手，隨處禱告；
9In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
9又願女人廉恥、自守，以正派衣裳為妝飾，不以編髮、黃金、珍珠，和貴價的衣裳為妝飾，
10But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.
10只要有善行，這才與自稱是敬上帝的女人相宜。
11Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
11女人要沉靜學道，一味地順服。
12But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
12我不許女人講道，也不許她轄管男人，只要沉靜。
13For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
13因為先造的是 亞當 ，後造的是 夏娃 ，
14And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
14且不是 亞當 被引誘，乃是女人被引誘，陷在罪裏。
15Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
15然而，女人若常存信心、愛心，又聖潔自守，就必在生產上得救。
