Tongan Bible, Revised West Version
1A Prayer of David. Incline Thine ear, O LORD, and answer me; for I am poor and needy.
1ʻE Sihova, ke ke fofonga mai, ʻo fanongo kiate au: he ʻoku ou masiva mo mamahi.
2Keep my soul, for I am godly; O Thou my God, save Thy servant that trusteth in Thee.
2Fakamoʻui hoku laumālie; he ʻoku ou māʻoniʻoni: ʻa koe ko hoku ʻOtua, fakamoʻui hoʻo tamaioʻeiki ʻaia ʻoku falala kiate koe.
3Be gracious unto me, O Lord; for unto Thee do I cry all the day.
3ʻE ʻEiki, ke ke ʻaloʻofa kiate au: he ʻoku ou tangi kiate koe ʻi he ʻaho kotoa pē.
4Rejoice the soul of Thy servant; for unto Thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
4ʻE ʻEiki, fakafiefiaʻi ʻae laumālie ʻo hoʻo tamaioʻeiki: he ʻoku ou hiki hake hoku laumālie kiate koe.
5For Thou, Lord, art good, and ready to pardon, and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon Thee.
5He ko koe, ʻE ʻEiki ʻoku ke angalelei, pea faʻa fakamolemole; pea mohu ʻaloʻofa kiate kinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku ui kiate koe.
6Give ear, O LORD, unto my prayer; and attend unto the voice of my supplications.
6Fanongo, ʻE Sihova, ki heʻeku lotu pea tokanga ki he leʻo ʻo ʻeku ngaahi lotu tāumaʻu.
7In the day of my trouble I call upon Thee; for Thou wilt answer me.
7ʻI he ʻaho ʻo ʻeku mamahi te u ui kiate koe; he te ke talia au.
8There is none like unto Thee among the gods, O Lord, and there are no works like Thine.
8ʻE ʻEiki, ʻoku ʻikai ha tokotaha ʻi he ngaahi ʻotua ʻoku tatau mo koe; pea ʻoku ʻikai ha ngāue ʻe hangē ko hoʻo ngaahi ngāue.
9All nations whom Thou hast made shall come and prostrate themselves before Thee, O Lord; and they shall glorify Thy name.
9ʻE ʻEiki, ʻe haʻu ʻo hū ʻi ho ʻao ʻae ngaahi puleʻanga kotoa pē naʻa ke ngaohi; pea tenau fakaongoongoleleiʻi ho huafa.
10For Thou art great, and doest wondrous things; Thou art God alone.
10He ʻoku ke lahi, pea ʻoku ke fai ʻae ngaahi meʻa mana: ko koe pē ko e ʻOtua.
11Teach me, O LORD, Thy way, that I may walk in Thy truth; make one my heart to fear Thy name.
11ʻE Sihova, ako kiate au ho hala; te u ʻeveʻeva ʻi hoʻo moʻoni: ngaohi ke taha pē hoku loto ke manavahē ki ho huafa.
12I will thank Thee, O Lord my God, with my whole heart; and I will glorify Thy name for evermore.
12ʻE ʻEiki ko hoku ʻOtua, te u fakafetaʻi kiate koe ʻaki hoku loto kotoa: pea te u fakaongoongolelei ho huafa ʻo taʻengata.
13For great is Thy mercy toward me; and Thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest nether-world.
13He ʻoku lahi hoʻo ʻaloʻofa kiate au: pea kuo ke fakamoʻui hoku laumālie mei he loto heli.
14O God, the proud are risen up against me, and the company of violent men have sought after my soul, and have not set Thee before them.
14ʻE ʻOtua, kuo tuʻu hake kiate au ʻae kau fielahi, pea naʻe kumi hoku laumālie ʻe he ngaahi fakataha ʻoe kau fakamālohi; pea ʻoku ʻikai tenau fokotuʻu ʻa hoʻo ʻafio ʻi honau ʻao.
15But Thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy and truth.
15Ka ko koe, ʻE ʻEiki, ko e ʻOtua ʻoku fonu ʻi he manavaʻofa, mo e angalelei, ʻoku ke kātaki fuoloa, pea mohu ʻaloʻofa mo e moʻoni.
16O turn unto me, and be gracious unto me; give Thy strength unto Thy servant, and save the son of Thy handmaid.
16Ke ke tafoki mai kiate au, pea ʻaloʻofa kiate au; foaki ho mālohi ki hoʻo tamaioʻeiki, pea fakamoʻui ʻae tama ʻa hoʻo kaunanga.
17Work in my behalf a sign for good; that they that hate me may see it, and be put to shame, because Thou, LORD, hast helped me, and comforted me.
17Fakahā kiate au ʻae fakaʻilonga ʻoe lelei; koeʻuhi ke mamata ki ai ʻakinautolu ʻoku fehiʻa kiate au, pea mā ai: koeʻuhi kuo ke tokoniʻi au, ʻE Sihova, ʻo fakafiemālieʻi au.
