Proverbs 9
JPS Tanakh (Jewish Publication Society, 1917)
Kralice Bible (1613)
1Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars;
1Moudrost vystavěla dům svůj, vytesavši sloupů svých sedm.
2She hath prepared her meat, she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table.
2Zbila dobytek svůj, smísila víno své, stůl také svůj připravila.
3She hath sent forth her maidens, she calleth, upon the highest places of the city:
3A poslavši děvečky své, volá na vrchu nejvyšších míst v městě:
4'Whoso is thoughtless, let him turn in hither'; as for him that lacketh understanding, she saith to him:
4Kdožkoli jest hloupý, uchyl se sem. Až i bláznivým říká:
5'Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled.
5Poďte, jezte chléb můj, a píte víno, kteréž jsem smísila.
6Forsake all thoughtlessness, and live; and walk in the way of understanding.
6Opusťte hloupost a živi buďte, a choďte cestou rozumnosti.
7He that correcteth a scorner getteth to himself shame, and he that reproveth a wicked man, it becometh unto him a blot.
7Kdo tresce posměvače, dochází hanby, a kdo přimlouvá bezbožnému, pohanění.
8Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee; reprove a wise man, and he will love thee.
8Nedomlouvej posměvači, aby tě nevzal v nenávist; přimlouvej moudrému, a bude tě milovati.
9Give to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser; teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.
9Učiň to moudrému, a bude moudřejší; pouč spravedlivého, a bude umělejší.
10The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the All-holy is understanding.
10Počátek moudrosti jest bázeň Hospodinova, a umění svatých rozumnost.
11For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.
11Nebo skrze mne rozmnoží se dnové tvoji, a přidánoť bude let života.
12If thou art wise, thou art wise for thyself; and if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.'
12Budeš-li moudrý, sobě moudrý budeš; pakli posměvač, sám vytrpíš.
13The woman Folly is riotous; she is thoughtless, and knoweth nothing.
13Žena bláznivá štěbetná, nesmyslná, a nic neumí.
14And she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,
14A sedí u dveří domu svého na stolici, na místech vysokých v městě,
15To call to them that pass by, who go right on their ways:
15Aby volala jdoucích cestou, kteříž přímo jdou stezkami svými, řkuci:
16'Whoso is thoughtless, let him turn in hither'; and as for him that lacketh understanding, she saith to him:
16Kdo jest hloupý, uchyl se sem. A bláznivému říká:
17'Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.'
17Voda kradená sladší jest, a chléb pokoutní chutnější.
18But he knoweth not that the shades are there; that her guests are in the depths of the nether-world.
18Ale neví hlupec, že mrtví jsou tam, a v hlubokém hrobě ti, kterýchž pozvala.
