Proverbs 8
JPS Tanakh (Jewish Publication Society, 1917)
Kralice Bible (1613)
1Doth not wisdom call, and understanding put forth her voice?
1Zdaliž moudrost nevolá, a rozumnost nevydává hlasu svého?
2In the top of high places by the way, where the paths meet, she standeth;
2Na vrchu vysokých míst, u cesty, na rozcestí stojí,
3Beside the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors, she crieth aloud:
3U bran, kudy se chodí do města, a kudy se chodí dveřmi, volá, řkuci:
4'Unto you, O men, I call, and my voice is to the sons of men.
4Na vásť, ó muži, volám, a hlas můj jest k synům lidským.
5O ye thoughtless, understand prudence, and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.
5Poučte se hloupí opatrnosti, a blázni srozumějte srdcem.
6Hear, for I will speak excellent things, and the opening of my lips shall be right things.
6Poslouchejtež, nebo znamenité věci mluviti budu, a otevření rtů mých pouhou pravdu.
7For my mouth shall utter truth, and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
7Jistě žeť pravdu zvěstují ústa má, a ohavností jest rtům mým bezbožnost.
8All the words of my mouth are in righteousness, there is nothing perverse or crooked in them.
8Spravedlivé jsou všecky řeči úst mých, není v nich nic křivého ani převráceného.
9They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.
9Všecky pravé jsou rozumějícímu, a přímé těm, kteříž nalézají umění.
10Receive my instruction, and not silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold.
10Přijmětež cvičení mé raději než stříbro, a umění raději než zlato nejvýbornější.
11For wisdom is better than rubies, and all things desirable are not to be compared unto her.
11Nebo lepší jest moudrost než drahé kamení, tak že jakékoli věci žádostivé vrovnati se jí nemohou.
12I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of devices.
12Já moudrost bydlím s opatrností, a umění pravé prozřetelnosti přítomné mám.
13The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
13Bázeň Hospodinova jest v nenávisti míti zlé, pýchy a vysokomyslnosti, i cesty zlé a úst převrácených nenávidím.
14Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom; I am understanding, power is mine.
14Má jest rada i šťastný prospěch, jáť jsem rozumnost, a má jest síla.
15By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.
15Skrze mne králové kralují, a knížata ustanovují věci spravedlivé.
16By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.
16Skrze mne knížata panují, páni i všickni soudcové zemští.
17I love them that love me, and those that seek me earnestly shall find me.
17Já milující mne miluji, a kteříž mne pilně hledají, nalézají mne.
18Riches and honour are with me; yea, enduring riches and righteousness.
18Bohatství a sláva při mně jest, zboží trvánlivé i spravedlnost.
19My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my produce than choice silver.
19Lepší jest ovoce mé než nejlepší zlato, i než ryzí, a užitek můj než stříbro výborné.
20I walk in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of justice;
20Stezkou spravedlnosti vodím, prostředkem stezek soudu,
21That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance, and that I may fill their treasuries.
21Abych těm, kteříž mne milují, přidědila zboží věčné, a poklady jejich naplnila.
22The LORD made me as the beginning of His way, the first of His works of old.
22Hospodin měl mne při počátku cesty své, před skutky svými, přede všemi časy.
23I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.
23Před věky ustanovena jsem, před počátkem, prvé než byla země.
24When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.
24Když ještě nebylo propasti, zplozena jsem, když ještě nebylo studnic oplývajících vodami.
25Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth;
25Prvé než hory založeny byly, než byli pahrbkové, zplozena jsem;
26While as yet He had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the beginning of the dust of the world.
26Ještě byl neučinil země a rovin, ani začátku prachu okršlku zemského.
27When He established the heavens, I was there; when He set a circle upon the face of the deep,
27Když připravoval nebesa, byla jsem tu, když vyměřoval okrouhlost nad propastí;
28When He made firm the skies above, when the fountains of the deep showed their might,
28Když upevňoval oblaky u výsosti, když utvrzoval studnice propasti;
29When He gave to the sea His decree, that the waters should not transgress His commandment, when He appointed the foundations of the earth;
29Když ukládal moři cíl jeho, a vodám, aby nepřestupovaly rozkázaní jeho, když vyměřoval základy země:
30Then I was by Him, as a nursling; and I was daily all delight, playing always before Him,
30Tehdáž byla jsem od něho pěstována, a byla jsem jeho potěšení na každý den, anobrž hrám před ním každého času;
31Playing in His habitable earth, and my delights are with the sons of men.
31Hrám i na okršlku země jeho, a rozkoše mé s syny lidskými.
32Now therefore, ye children, hearken unto me; for happy are they that keep my ways.
32A tak tedy, synové, poslechněte mne, nebo blahoslavení jsou ostříhající cest mých.
33Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.
33Poslouchejte cvičení, a nabuďte rozumu, a nerozpakujte se.
34Happy is the man that hearkeneth to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.
34Blahoslavený člověk, kterýž mne slýchá, bdě u dveří mých na každý den, šetře veřejí dveří mých.
35For whoso findeth me findeth life, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.
35Nebo kdož mne nalézá, nalézá život, a dosahuje lásky od Hospodina.
36But he that misseth me wrongeth his own soul; all they that hate me love death.'
36Ale kdož hřeší proti mně, ukrutenství provodí nad duší svou; všickni, kteříž mne nenávidí, milují smrt.
