1Then drew near the daughters of Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of Manasseh the son of Joseph; and these are the names of his daughters: Mahlah, Noah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Tirzah.
1แล้วบรรดาลูกสาวของเศโลเฟหัดก็เข้ามา เศโลเฟหัดเป็นลูกชายของเฮเฟอร์ ผู้เป็นลูกชายของกิเลอาด ผู้เป็นลูกชายของมาคีร์ ผู้เป็นลูกชายของมนัสเสห์ พวกนางมาจากตระกูลมนัสเสห์ลูกชายของโยเซฟ ลูกสาวของเศโลเฟหัดชื่อมาห์ลาห์ โนอาห์ โฮกลาห์ มิลคาห์ และทีรซาห์
2And they stood before Moses, and before Eleazar the priest, and before the princes and all the congregation, at the door of the tent of meeting, saying:
2พวกนางยืนต่อหน้าโมเสส ต่อหน้าเอเลอาซาร์ปุโรหิต ต่อหน้าบรรดาผู้นำและชุมนุมชนทั้งหมด ตรงทางเข้าเต็นท์นัดพบ แล้วพูดว่า
3'Our father died in the wilderness, and he was not among the company of them that gathered themselves together against the LORD in the company of Korah, but he died in his own sin; and he had no sons.
3“บิดาของพวกเราตายในถิ่นทุรกันดาร เขาไม่ได้อยู่ในกลุ่มของผู้ที่รวมตัวกันต่อต้านพระยาห์เวห์ร่วมกับกลุ่มของโคราห์ แต่เขาตายเพราะบาปของตนเอง และเขาไม่มีลูกชาย
4Why should the name of our father be done away from among his family, because he had no son? Give unto us a possession among the brethren of our father.'
4เหตุใดชื่อของบิดาเราจึงต้องถูกลบออกจากตระกูลเพราะเขาไม่มีลูกชาย? ขอให้มอบที่ดินเป็นกรรมสิทธิ์แก่พวกเราท่ามกลางพี่น้องชายของบิดาเรา”
5And Moses brought their cause before the LORD.
5โมเสสจึงนำคดีของพวกนางมาทูลต่อพระยาห์เวห์
6And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:
6พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสกับโมเสสว่า
7'The daughters of Zelophehad speak right: thou shalt surely give them a possession of an inheritance among their father's brethren; and thou shalt cause the inheritance of their father to pass unto them.
7“ลูกสาวของเศโลเฟหัดพูดถูก เจ้าต้องมอบที่ดินเป็นมรดกให้พวกนางท่ามกลางพี่น้องชายของบิดา และโอนมรดกของบิดาให้พวกนาง
8And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying: If a man die, and have no son, then ye shall cause his inheritance to pass unto his daughter.
8เจ้าจงบอกชาวอิสราเอลว่า ‘ถ้าชายคนหนึ่งตายโดยไม่มีลูกชาย พวกเจ้าต้องโอนมรดกของเขาให้ลูกสาว
9And if he have no daughter, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his brethren.
9ถ้าเขาไม่มีลูกสาว ก็ให้มอบมรดกแก่พี่น้องชายของเขา
10And if he have no brethren, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his father's brethren.
10ถ้าเขาไม่มีพี่น้องชาย ก็ให้มอบมรดกแก่พี่น้องชายของบิดาเขา
11And if his father have no brethren, then ye shall give his inheritance unto his kinsman that is next to him of his family, and he shall possess it. And it shall be unto the children of Israel a statute of judgment, as the LORD commanded Moses.'
11ถ้าบิดาของเขาไม่มีพี่น้องชาย ก็ให้มอบมรดกแก่ญาติที่ใกล้ชิดที่สุดในตระกูลของเขา และญาติคนนั้นจะได้ครอบครองมรดก นี่จะเป็นกฎหมายและกฎระเบียบสำหรับชาวอิสราเอล ตามที่พระยาห์เวห์ทรงบัญชาโมเสส’”
12And the LORD said unto Moses: 'Get thee up into this mountain of Abarim, and behold the land which I have given unto the children of Israel.
12พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสกับโมเสสว่า “จงขึ้นไปบนภูเขาอาบาริมนี้ และมองดูแผ่นดินที่เรามอบให้ชาวอิสราเอล
13And when thou hast seen it, thou also shalt be gathered unto thy people, as Aaron thy brother was gathered;
13เมื่อเจ้าได้เห็นแล้ว เจ้าก็จะล่วงลับไปอยู่ร่วมกับบรรพบุรุษของเจ้า เช่นเดียวกับอาโรนพี่ชายของเจ้า
14because ye rebelled against My commandment in the wilderness of Zin, in the strife of the congregation, to sanctify Me at the waters before their eyes.' — These are the waters of Meribath-kadesh in the wilderness of Zin. —
14เพราะเมื่อชุมนุมชนโต้เถียงกัน พวกเจ้าขัดขืนคำของเราในถิ่นทุรกันดารศิน โดยไม่ได้ยกย่องความบริสุทธิ์ของเราต่อหน้าพวกเขาที่แหล่งน้ำนั้น” (นี่คือน้ำแห่งเมรีบาห์ที่คาเดชในถิ่นทุรกันดารศิน)
15And Moses spoke unto the LORD, saying:
15โมเสสทูลพระยาห์เวห์ว่า
16'Let the LORD, the God of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over the congregation,
16“ขอพระยาห์เวห์ พระเจ้าแห่งจิตวิญญาณแห่งสรรพชีวิต ทรงแต่งตั้งชายคนหนึ่งให้ดูแลชุมนุมชน
17who may go out before them, and who may come in before them, and who may lead them out, and who may bring them in; that the congregation of the LORD be not as sheep which have no shepherd.'
17ให้เขานำหน้าพวกเขาทั้งยามออกไปและยามกลับมา และนำพวกเขาออกไปพร้อมทั้งพากลับมา เพื่อชุมนุมชนของพระยาห์เวห์จะไม่เป็นเหมือนฝูงแกะที่ไม่มีผู้เลี้ยง”
18And the LORD said unto Moses: 'Take thee Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is spirit, and lay thy hand upon him;
18พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสกับโมเสสว่า “จงรับโยชูวาลูกชายของนูน ผู้มีพระวิญญาณสถิตอยู่ และวางมือของเจ้าบนเขา
19and set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation; and give him a charge in their sight.
19จงให้เขายืนต่อหน้าเอเลอาซาร์ปุโรหิตและต่อหน้าชุมนุมชนทั้งหมด แล้วมอบหมายหน้าที่แก่เขาต่อหน้าพวกเขา
20And thou shalt put of thy honour upon him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may hearken.
20จงมอบสิทธิอำนาจแก่เขา เพื่อชุมนุมชนชาวอิสราเอลทั้งหมดจะเชื่อฟัง
21And he shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall inquire for him by the judgment of the Urim before the LORD; at his word shall they go out, and at his word they shall come in, both he, and all the children of Israel with him, even all the congregation.'
21เขาต้องยืนต่อหน้าเอเลอาซาร์ปุโรหิต ผู้จะใช้อูริมทูลขอคำตัดสินให้เขาต่อหน้าพระยาห์เวห์ พวกเขาจะออกไปตามคำของเขา และจะกลับเข้ามาตามคำของเขา ทั้งโยชูวาและชาวอิสราเอลทั้งหมดที่อยู่กับเขา คือชุมนุมชนทั้งหมด”
22And Moses did as the LORD commanded him; and he took Joshua, and set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation.
22โมเสสทำตามที่พระยาห์เวห์ทรงบัญชา เขารับโยชูวามาให้ยืนต่อหน้าเอเลอาซาร์ปุโรหิตและต่อหน้าชุมนุมชนทั้งหมด
23And he laid his hands upon him, and gave him a charge, as the LORD spoke by the hand of Moses.
23โมเสสวางมือทั้งสองบนโยชูวาและมอบหมายหน้าที่แก่เขา ตามที่พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสผ่านโมเสส
