Baibal Olcim (Matupi Chin)
1Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and said:
1Te vaengah Temani hoel Eliphaz loh a doo.
2If one venture a word unto thee, wilt thou be weary? But who can withhold himself from speaking?
3Behold, thou hast instructed many, and thou hast strengthened the weak hands.
4Thy words have upholden him that was falling, and thou hast strengthened the feeble knees.
5But now it is come upon thee, and thou art weary; it toucheth thee, and thou art affrighted.
6Is not thy fear of God thy confidence, and thy hope the integrity of thy ways?
7Remember, I pray thee, who ever perished, being innocent? Or where were the upright cut off?
7Poek van laeh, ommongsitoe he paltham nim? Aka thuem rhoek te melam a thup?
8According as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow mischief, reap the same.
8Ka hmuh vanbangla boethae aka thoe tih aka soem khaw amah long ni thakthaenah a ah.
9By the breath of God they perish, and by the blast of His anger are they consumed.
9Pathen kah hiil dongah milh uh tih a thintoek khohli dongah khap uh coeng.
10The lion roareth, and the fierce lion howleth — yet the teeth of the young lions are broken.
10Sathueng khaw kawknah neh sathuengca khaw a ol neh om dae sathuengca khaw a no tloong.
11The old lion perisheth for lack of prey, and the whelps of the lioness are scattered abroad.
11Maeh a mueh lamloh sathueng te milh tih sathuengnu ca rhoek khaw pam uh.
12Now a word was secretly brought to me, and mine ear received a whisper thereof.
12Ka taengah ol a huen tih a olduem loh kai hna a lat sak.
13In thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falleth on men,
13Hlang he khoyin olphong lamkah pomnah khuiah a ih muelh vaengah.
14Fear came upon me, and trembling, and all my bones were made to shake.
14birhihnah loh kai m'mah tih thuennah neh ka rhuh boeih a rhih sak.
15Then a spirit passed before my face, that made the hair of my flesh to stand up.
15Mueihla loh ka maelhmai a pah vaengah ka mul ka saa poenghu.
16It stood still, but I could not discern the appearance thereof; a form was before mine eyes; I heard a still voice:
16A pai vaengah khaw a mueimae ka hmat moenih. A muei tah ka mikhmuh ah om tih bidip ol a yaak.
17'Shall mortal man be just before God? Shall a man be pure before his Maker?
17Pathen lakah hlanghing he tang tih anih aka saii lakah ah hlang caihcil ngai a?
18Behold, He putteth no trust in His servants, and His angels He chargeth with folly;
18A sal rhoek soah tangnah pawt tih a puencawn te a lolh la a khueh atah,
19How much more them that dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed before the moth!
19Laipi neh lai im dongah kho aka sa aisat te bungbo hmai ah a khoengim pop coeng.
20Betwixt morning and evening they are shattered; they perish for ever without any regarding it.
20Mincang lamloh hlaem duela a phop te a yoeyah la a milh khaw mingpha pawh.
21Is not their tent-cord plucked up within them? They die, and that without wisdom.'
21Amih lamkah a a hlangrhuel a phil pah vaengah a duek uh moenih a? Te dongah cueihnah neh a om moenih a?
