1Then Job answered and said:
1Job loh a doo tih,
2No doubt but ye are the people, and wisdom shall die with you.
2Na pilnam khaw nangmih taengkah cueihnah a duek ham tueng pai.
3But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you; yea, who knoweth not such things as these?
3Tedae kai khaw nangmih bangla thinko ka khueh. Nangmih lamloh ka yalh sut moenih. Te dongah u taengah nim he bang a om pawt eh?
4I am as one that is a laughing-stock to his neighbour, a man that called upon God, and He answered him; the just, the innocent man is a laughing-stock,
4Pathen taengah ka pang khaw a hui taengah nueihbu la ka om. A cuemthuek neh a dueng khaw nueihbu la a doo.
5A contemptible brand in the thought of him that is at ease, a thing ready for them whose foot slippeth.
5Mongkawt kah kopoek ah yoethaenah he nueihbu la om tih a kho aka paloe ham a tawn pah bangla om.
6The tents of robbers prosper, and they that provoke God are secure, in whatsoever God bringeth into their hand.
6Rhoelrhak kah dap te dingsuek lah tih, Pathen kah a tlai thil khaw a ciip la om. Te long te a kut dongah Pathen a khuen.
7But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee;
7Tedae rhamsa rhoek te dawt laeh lamtah nang n'thuinuet bitni. Vaan kah vaa long khaw nang taengla ha puen bitni.
8Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee; and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee;
8Diklai taengah khaw lolmang lamtah nang n'thuinuet vetih tuitunli kah nga loh nang hamla han tae bitni.
9Who knoweth not among all these, that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this?
9He he BOEIPA kut loh a saii tila te boeih khuikah aka ming pawt te unim?
10In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind. —
10A kut dongah mulhing boeih kah hinglu neh hlang pumsa boeih kah mueihla khaw om.
11Doth not the ear try words, even as the palate tasteth its food?
11Lai caak a ten bangla olthui te hna loh a nuemnai moenih a.
12Is wisdom with aged men, and understanding in length of days? —
12Patong taengah cueihnah om tih khohnin aka sen te a lungcuei om.
13With Him is wisdom and might; He hath counsel and understanding.
13A taengah cueihnah om tih a taengah thayung thamal, cilsuep neh lungcuei khaw om.
14Behold, He breaketh down, and it cannot be built again; He shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening.
14A koengloeng phoeiah tah thoh uh thai pawt tih hlang te a tlaeng phoeiah tah a ong pa uh thai moenih.
15Behold, He withholdeth the waters, and they dry up; also He sendeth them out, and they overturn the earth.
15Tui te a kueng tih kak coeng ke. Te te a hlah bal tih diklai a khuk.
16With Him is strength and sound wisdom; the deceived and the deceiver are His.
16Sarhi neh lungming cueihnah khaw amah hut, aka taengphael neh aka palang khaw amah hut.
17He leadeth counsellors away stripped, and judges maketh He fools.
17Ol aka uen te khotling la a khuen tih laitloek rhoek te a yan.
18He looseth the bond of kings, and bindeth their loins with a girdle.
18Manghai rhoek kah thuituennah a ah pah tih amih kah cinghen te hailaem a khih pah.
19He leadeth priests away stripped, and overthroweth the mighty.
19Khosoih rhoek te khotling la a khuen tih khangmai rhoek khaw a paimaelh.
20He removeth the speech of men of trust, and taketh away the sense of the elders.
20A tangnah kah a ka khaw a baeh tih patong rhoek a omih khaw a loh pah.
21He poureth contempt upon princes, and looseth the belt of the strong.
21Hlangcong rhoek soah nueihbu a hawk tih sokca cihin khaw hlong coeng.
22He uncovereth deep things out of darkness, and bringeth out to light the shadow of death.
22Hmaisuep lamkah a dung khaw phoe coeng tih dueknah hlipkhup te vangnah khuila a khuen.
23He increaseth the nations, and destroyeth them; He enlargeth the nations, and leadeth them away.
23Namtom te a puel sak phoeiah a milh sak. Namtom te a yaal tih a mawt.
24He taketh away the heart of the chiefs of the people of the land, and causeth them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way.
