1And the LORD said unto Moses: 'Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh; for by a strong hand shall he let them go, and by a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.'
1主はモーセに言われた。「今、あなたはわたしがファラオにすることを見る。彼は力強い手に迫られて民を行かせ、力強い手に迫られて自分の地から彼らを追い出す。」
2And God spoke unto Moses, and said unto him: 'I am the LORD;
2神はモーセに語り、彼に言われた。「わたしは主である。
3and I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, as God Almighty, but by My name Jehovah I made Me not known to them.
3わたしはアブラハム、イサク、ヤコブに全能の神として現れたが、主というわたしの名によっては、彼らに知られなかった。
4And I have also established My covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their sojournings, wherein they sojourned.
4わたしは彼らと契約を立て、彼らが寄留していたカナンの地を与えると約束した。
5And moreover I have heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered My covenant.
5さらに、わたしはエジプト人が奴隷としているイスラエルの子らのうめきを聞き、わたしの契約を思い起こした。
6Wherefore say unto the children of Israel: I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm, and with great judgments;
6それゆえ、イスラエルの子らに言いなさい。『わたしは主である。わたしはエジプト人の重労働の下からあなたがたを導き出し、彼らの奴隷の身からあなたがたを救い出す。わたしは伸ばした腕と大いなる裁きによってあなたがたを贖う。
7and I will take you to Me for a people, and I will be to you a God; and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God, who brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.
7わたしはあなたがたをわたしの民とし、あなたがたの神となる。あなたがたは、エジプト人の重労働の下から導き出す方が、あなたがたの神、主であることを知る。
8And I will bring you in unto the land, concerning which I lifted up My hand to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it you for a heritage: I am the LORD.'
8わたしは、アブラハム、イサク、ヤコブに与えると誓った地にあなたがたを導き入れ、それをあなたがたの所有として与える。わたしは主である。』」
9And Moses spoke so unto the children of Israel; but they hearkened not unto Moses for impatience of spirit, and for cruel bondage.
9モーセはそのようにイスラエルの子らに語ったが、彼らは心が打ちひしがれ、過酷な奴隷労働のゆえに、モーセに聞き従わなかった。
10And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:
10主はモーセに言われた。
11'Go in, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land.'
11「行きなさい。エジプトの王ファラオに語り、イスラエルの子らを彼の地から去らせるように言いなさい。」
12And Moses spoke before the LORD, saying: 'Behold, the children of Israel have not hearkened unto me; how then shall Pharaoh hear me, who am of uncircumcised lips?'
12モーセは主の前で言った。「イスラエルの子らさえ私に聞き従いませんでした。ましてファラオが聞き従うでしょうか。私は唇に割礼のない者です。」
13And the LORD spoke unto Moses and unto Aaron, and gave them a charge unto the children of Israel, and unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.
13主はモーセとアロンに語り、イスラエルの子らとエジプトの王ファラオについて命じて、イスラエルの子らをエジプトの地から導き出させた。
14These are the heads of their fathers' houses: the sons of Reuben the first-born of Israel: Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi. These are the families of Reuben.
14彼らの父祖の家々の長は次の通りである。イスラエルの長子ルベンの子らは、エノク、パル、ヘツロン、カルミ。これらはルベンの諸氏族である。
15And the sons of Simeon: Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitish woman. These are the families of Simeon.
15シメオンの子らは、イムエル、ヤミン、オハデ、ヤキン、ツォハル、そしてカナン人の女の息子サウル。これらはシメオンの諸氏族である。
16And these are the names of the sons of Levi according to their generations: Gershon and Kohath, and Merari. And the years of the life of Levi were a hundred thirty and seven years.
16その世代に基づくレビの子らの名前は次の通りである。ゲルション、ケハト、メラリ。レビの生涯の年は百三十七年であった。
17The sons of Gershon: Libni and Shimei, according to their families.
17その諸氏族に基づくゲルションの子らは、リブニとシムイである。
18And the sons of Kohath: Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel. And the years of the life of Kohath were a hundred thirty and three years.
18ケハトの子らは、アムラム、イツハル、ヘブロン、ウジエル。ケハトの生涯の年は百三十三年であった。
19And the sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their generations.
19メラリの子らは、マフリとムシ。これらがその世代に基づくレビ人の諸氏族である。
20And Amram took him Jochebed his father's sister to wife; and she bore him Aaron and Moses. And the years of the life of Amram were a hundred and thirty and seven years.
20アムラムは父の妹ヨケベデを妻とし、彼女は彼にアロンとモーセを産んだ。アムラムの生涯の年は百三十七年であった。
21And the sons of Izhar: Korah, and Nepheg, and Zichri.
21イツハルの子らは、コラ、ネフェグ、ジクリである。
22And the sons of Uzziel: Mishael, and Elzaphan, and Sithri.
22ウジエルの子らは、ミシャエル、エルツァファン、シトリである。
23And Aaron took him Elisheba, the daughter of Amminadab, the sister of Nahshon, to wife; and she bore him Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
23アロンはアミナダブの娘でナフションの妹であるエリシェバを妻とし、彼女は彼にナダブ、アビフ、エルアザル、イタマルを産んだ。
24And the sons of Korah: Assir, and Elkanah, and Abiasaph; these are the families of the Korahites.
24コラの子らは、アシル、エルカナ、アビアサフ。これらがコラ人の諸氏族である。
25And Eleazar Aaron's son took him one of the daughters of Putiel to wife; and she bore him Phinehas. These are the heads of the fathers' houses of the Levites according to their families.
25アロンの息子エルアザルはプティエルの娘の一人を妻とし、彼女は彼にピネハスを産んだ。これらがその諸氏族に基づくレビ人の父祖の家々の長である。
26These are that Aaron and Moses, to whom the LORD said: 'Bring out the children of Israel from the land of Egypt according to their hosts.'
26「イスラエルの子らをその軍団ごとにエジプトの地から導き出せ」と主から命じられたのは、このアロンとモーセである。
27These are they that spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring out the children of Israel from Egypt. These are that Moses and Aaron.
27イスラエルの子らをエジプトから導き出すため、エジプトの王ファラオに語ったのも、このモーセとアロンである。
28And it came to pass on the day when the LORD spoke unto Moses in the land of Egypt,
28主がエジプトの地でモーセに語られた日、
29that the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying: 'I am the LORD; speak thou unto Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I speak unto thee.'
29主はモーセに言われた。「わたしは主である。わたしがあなたに語るすべてのことを、エジプトの王ファラオに語りなさい。」
30And Moses said before the LORD: 'Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips, and how shall Pharaoh hearken unto me?'
30モーセは主の前で言った。「私は唇に割礼のない者です。どうしてファラオが私に聞き従うでしょうか。」
