1And Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead, and strengthened himself against Israel.
1亞撒 的兒子 約沙法 接續他作王，奮勇自強，防備 以色列 人，
2And he placed forces in all the fortified cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken.
2安置軍兵在 猶大 一切堅固城裏，又安置防兵在 猶大 地和他父 亞撒 所得 以法蓮 的城邑中。
3And the LORD was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and sought not unto the Baalim;
3耶和華與 約沙法 同在；因為他行他祖 大衛 初行的道，不尋求 巴力 ，
4but sought to the God of his father, and walked in His commandments, and not after the doings of Israel.
4只尋求他父親的上帝，遵行他的誡命，不效法 以色列 人的行為。
5Therefore the LORD established the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah brought to Jehoshaphat presents; and he had riches and honour in abundance.
5所以耶和華堅定他的國， 猶大 眾人給他進貢； 約沙法 大有尊榮資財。
6And his heart was lifted up in the ways of the LORD; and furthermore he took away the high places and the Asherim out of Judah.
6他高興遵行耶和華的道，並且從 猶大 除掉一切邱壇和木偶。
7Also in the third year of his reign he sent his princes, even Ben-hail, and Obadiah, and Zechariah, and Nethanel, and Micaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah;
7他作王第三年，就差遣臣子 便‧亥伊勒 、 俄巴底 、 撒迦利雅 、 拿坦業 、 米該亞 往 猶大 各城去教訓百姓。
8and with them the Levites, even Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijah, and Tob-adonijah, the Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, the priests.
8同着他們有 利未 人 示瑪雅 、 尼探雅 、 西巴第雅 、 亞撒黑 、 示米拉末 、 約拿單 、 亞多尼雅 、 多比雅 、 駝‧巴多尼雅 ，又有祭司 以利沙瑪 、 約蘭 同着他們。
9And they taught in Judah, having the book of the Law of the LORD with them; and they went about throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught among the people.
9他們帶着耶和華的律法書，走遍 猶大 各城教訓百姓。
10And a terror from the LORD fell upon all the kingdoms of the lands that were round about Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat.
10耶和華使 猶大 四圍的列國都甚恐懼，不敢與 約沙法 爭戰。
11And some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents, and silver for tribute; the Arabians also brought him flocks, seven thousand and seven hundred rams, and seven thousand and seven hundred he-goats.
11有些 非利士 人與 約沙法 送禮物，納貢銀。 阿拉伯 人也送他公綿羊七千七百隻，公山羊七千七百隻。
12And Jehoshaphat waxed great exceedingly; and he built in Judah castles and cities of store.
12約沙法 日漸強大，在 猶大 建造營寨和積貨城。
13And he had many works in the cities of Judah; and men of war, mighty men of valour, in Jerusalem.
13他在 猶大 城邑中有許多工程，又在 耶路撒冷 有戰士，就是大能的勇士。
14And this was the numbering of them according to their fathers' houses: of Judah, the captains of thousands: Adnah the captain, and with him mighty men of valour three hundred thousand;
14他們的數目，按着宗族，記在下面： 猶大 族的千夫長 押拿 為首率領大能的勇士－三十萬；
15and next to him Jehohanan the captain, and with him two hundred and fourscore thousand;
15其次是，千夫長 約哈難 率領 大能的勇士 －二十八萬；
16and next to him Amasiah the son of Zichri, who willingly offered himself unto the LORD, and with him two hundred thousand mighty men of valour;
16其次是， 細基利 的兒子 亞瑪斯雅 （他為耶和華犧牲自己）率領大能的勇士－二十萬。
17and of Benjamin: Eliada a mighty man of valour, and with him two hundred thousand armed with bow and shield;
17便雅憫 族，是大能的勇士 以利雅大 率領拿弓箭和盾牌的－二十萬；
18and next to him Jehozabad, and with him a hundred and fourscore thousand ready prepared for war.
18其次是， 約薩拔 率領預備打仗的－十八萬。
19These were they that waited on the king beside those whom the king put in the fortified cities throughout all Judah.
19這都是伺候王的，還有王在 猶大 全地堅固城所安置的不在其內。
