1And Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead, and strengthened himself against Israel.
1亚撒 的儿子 约沙法 接续他作王，奋勇自强，防备 以色列 人，
2And he placed forces in all the fortified cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken.
2安置军兵在 犹大 一切坚固城里，又安置防兵在 犹大 地和他父 亚撒 所得 以法莲 的城邑中。
3And the LORD was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and sought not unto the Baalim;
3耶和华与 约沙法 同在；因为他行他祖 大卫 初行的道，不寻求 巴力 ，
4but sought to the God of his father, and walked in His commandments, and not after the doings of Israel.
4只寻求他父亲的 神，遵行他的诫命，不效法 以色列 人的行为。
5Therefore the LORD established the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah brought to Jehoshaphat presents; and he had riches and honour in abundance.
5所以耶和华坚定他的国， 犹大 众人给他进贡； 约沙法 大有尊荣资财。
6And his heart was lifted up in the ways of the LORD; and furthermore he took away the high places and the Asherim out of Judah.
6他高兴遵行耶和华的道，并且从 犹大 除掉一切邱坛和木偶。
7Also in the third year of his reign he sent his princes, even Ben-hail, and Obadiah, and Zechariah, and Nethanel, and Micaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah;
7他作王第三年，就差遣臣子 便·亥伊勒 、 俄巴底 、 撒迦利雅 、 拿坦业 、 米该亚 往 犹大 各城去教训百姓。
8and with them the Levites, even Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijah, and Tob-adonijah, the Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, the priests.
8同着他们有 利未 人 示玛雅 、 尼探雅 、 西巴第雅 、 亚撒黑 、 示米拉末 、 约拿单 、 亚多尼雅 、 多比雅 、 驼·巴多尼雅 ，又有祭司 以利沙玛 、 约兰 同着他们。
9And they taught in Judah, having the book of the Law of the LORD with them; and they went about throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught among the people.
9他们带着耶和华的律法书，走遍 犹大 各城教训百姓。
10And a terror from the LORD fell upon all the kingdoms of the lands that were round about Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat.
10耶和华使 犹大 四围的列国都甚恐惧，不敢与 约沙法 争战。
11And some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents, and silver for tribute; the Arabians also brought him flocks, seven thousand and seven hundred rams, and seven thousand and seven hundred he-goats.
11有些 非利士 人与 约沙法 送礼物，纳贡银。 阿 拉伯 人也送他公绵羊七千七百只，公山羊七千七百只。
12And Jehoshaphat waxed great exceedingly; and he built in Judah castles and cities of store.
12约沙法 日渐强大，在 犹大 建造营寨和积货城。
13And he had many works in the cities of Judah; and men of war, mighty men of valour, in Jerusalem.
13他在 犹大 城邑中有许多工程，又在 耶路撒冷 有战士，就是大能的勇士。
14And this was the numbering of them according to their fathers' houses: of Judah, the captains of thousands: Adnah the captain, and with him mighty men of valour three hundred thousand;
14他们的数目，按着宗族，记在下面： 犹大 族的，千夫长 押拿 为首率领大能的勇士—三十万；
15and next to him Jehohanan the captain, and with him two hundred and fourscore thousand;
15其次是，千夫长 约哈难 率领 大能的勇士 —二十八万；
16and next to him Amasiah the son of Zichri, who willingly offered himself unto the LORD, and with him two hundred thousand mighty men of valour;
16其次是， 细基利 的儿子 亚玛斯雅 （他为耶和华牺牲自己）率领大能的勇士—二十万。
17and of Benjamin: Eliada a mighty man of valour, and with him two hundred thousand armed with bow and shield;
17便雅悯 族，是大能的勇士 以利雅大 率领拿弓箭和盾牌的—二十万；
18and next to him Jehozabad, and with him a hundred and fourscore thousand ready prepared for war.
18其次是， 约萨拔 率领预备打仗的—十八万。
19These were they that waited on the king beside those whom the king put in the fortified cities throughout all Judah.
19这都是伺候王的，还有王在 犹大 全地坚固城所安置的不在其内。
