1(1-18) Now Solomon purposed to build a house for the name of the LORD, and a house for his kingdom.
1所羅門 定意要為耶和華的名建造殿宇，又為自己的國建造宮室。
2(2-1) And Solomon counted out threescore and ten thousand men to bear burdens, and fourscore thousand men that were hewers in the mountains, and three thousand and six hundred to oversee them.
2所羅門 就挑選七萬扛抬的，八萬在山上鑿石頭的，三千六百督工的。
3(2-2) And Solomon sent to Huram the king of Tyre, saying: 'As thou didst deal with David my father, and didst send him cedars to build him a house to dwell therein, even so deal with me.
3所羅門 差人去見 泰爾 王 希蘭 ，說：「你曾運香柏木與我父 大衛 建宮居住， 求你也這樣待我 。
4(2-3) Behold, I am about to build a house for the name of the LORD my God, to dedicate it to Him, and to burn before Him incense of sweet spices, and for the continual showbread, and for the burnt-offerings morning and evening, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the appointed seasons of the LORD our God. This is an ordinance for ever to Israel.
4我要為耶和華－我上帝的名建造殿宇，分別為聖獻給他，在他面前焚燒美香，常擺陳設餅，每早晚、安息日、月朔，並耶和華－我們上帝所定的節期獻燔祭。這是 以色列 人永遠的 定例 。
5(2-4) And the house which I build is great; for great is our God above all gods.
5我所要建造的殿宇甚大；因為我們的上帝至大，超乎諸神。
6(2-5) But who is able to build Him a house, seeing the heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain Him? who am I then, that I should build Him a house, save only to offer before Him?
6天和天上的天，尚且不足他居住的，誰能為他建造殿宇呢？我是誰？能為他建造殿宇嗎？不過在他面前燒香而已。
7(2-6) Now therefore send me a man skilful to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, and in iron, and in purple, and crimson, and blue, and that hath skill to grave all manner of gravings, to be with the skilful men that are with me in Judah and in Jerusalem, whom David my father did provide.
7現在求你差一個巧匠來，就是善用金、銀、銅、鐵，和紫色、朱紅色、藍色 線 ，並精於雕刻之工的巧匠，與我父 大衛 在 猶大 和 耶路撒冷 所預備的巧匠一同做工；
8(2-7) Send me also cedar-trees, cypress-trees, and sandal-wood, out of Lebanon; for I know that thy servants have skill to cut timber in Lebanon; and, behold, my servants shall be with thy servants,
8又求你從 黎巴嫩 運些香柏木、松木、檀香木到我這裏來，因我知道你的僕人善於砍伐 黎巴嫩 的樹木。我的僕人也必與你的僕人同工。
9(2-8) even to prepare me timber in abundance; for the house which I am about to build shall be great and wonderful.
9這樣，可以給我預備許多的木料，因我要建造的殿宇高大出奇。
10(2-9) And, behold, I will give to thy servants, the hewers that cut timber, twenty thousand measures of beaten wheat, and twenty thousand measures of barley, and twenty thousand baths of wine, and twenty thousand baths of oil.'
10你的僕人砍伐樹木，我必給他們打好了的小麥二萬歌珥，大麥二萬歌珥，酒二萬罷特，油二萬罷特。」
11(2-10) Then Huram the king of Tyre answered in writing, which he sent to Solomon: 'Because the LORD loveth His people, He hath made thee king over them.'
11泰爾 王 希蘭 寫信回答 所羅門 說：「耶和華因為愛他的子民，所以立你作他們的王」；
12(2-11) Huram said moreover: 'Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, that made heaven and earth, who hath given to David the king a wise son, endued with discretion and understanding, that should build a house for the LORD, and a house for his kingdom.
12又說：「創造天地的耶和華－ 以色列 的上帝是應當稱頌的！他賜給 大衛 王一個有智慧的兒子，使他有謀略聰明，可以為耶和華建造殿宇，又為自己的國建造宮室。
13(2-12) And now I have sent a skilful man, endued with understanding, even Huram my master craftsman,
13「現在我打發一個精巧有聰明的人去，他是我父親 希蘭 所用的，
14(2-13) the son of a woman of the daughters of Dan, and his father was a man of Tyre, skilful to work in gold, and in silver, in brass, in iron, in stone, and in timber, in purple, in blue, and in fine linen, and in crimson; also to grave any manner of graving, and to devise any device; to do whatever may be set before him, with thy skilful men, and with the skilful men of my lord David thy father.
14是 但 支派 一個婦人的兒子。他父親是 泰爾 人，他善用金、銀、銅、鐵、石、木，和紫色、藍色、朱紅色 線 與細麻製造各物，並精於雕刻，又能想出各樣的巧工。請你派定這人，與你的巧匠和你父－我主 大衛 的巧匠一同做工。
15(2-14) Now therefore the wheat and the barley, the oil and the wine, which my lord hath spoken of, let him send unto his servants;
15我主所說的小麥、大麥、酒、油，願我主運來給眾僕人。
16(2-15) and we will cut wood out of Lebanon, as much as thou shalt need; and we will bring it to thee in floats by sea to Joppa; and thou shalt carry it up to Jerusalem.'
16我們必照你所需用的，從 黎巴嫩 砍伐樹木，紮成筏子，浮海運到 約帕 ；你可以從那裏運到 耶路撒冷 。」
17(2-16) And Solomon numbered all the strangers that were in the land of Israel, after the numbering wherewith David his father had numbered them; and they were found a hundred and fifty thousand and three thousand and six hundred.
17所羅門 仿照他父 大衛 數點住在 以色列 地所有寄居的外邦人，共有十五萬三千六百名；
18(2-17) And he set threescore and ten thousand of them to bear burdens, and fourscore thousand to be hewers in the mountains, and three thousand and six hundred overseers to set the people at work.
18使七萬人扛抬材料，八萬人在山上鑿石頭，三千六百人督理工作。
