1耶利米 向眾百姓說完了耶和華－他們上帝的一切話，就是耶和華－他們上帝差遣他去所說的一切話。
1And it came to pass, that when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking unto all the people all the words of the LORD their God, wherewith the LORD their God had sent him to them, even all these words,
2何沙雅 的兒子 亞撒利雅 和 加利亞 的兒子 約哈難 ，並一切狂傲的人，就對 耶利米 說：「你說謊言！耶和華－我們的上帝並沒有差遣你來說：『你們不可進入 埃及 ，在那裏寄居。』
2then spoke Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men, saying unto Jeremiah: 'Thou speakest falsely; the LORD our God hath not sent thee to say: Ye shall not go into Egypt to sojourn there;
3這是 尼利亞 的兒子 巴錄 挑唆你害我們，要將我們交在 迦勒底 人的手中，使我們有被殺的，有被擄到 巴比倫 去的。」
3but Baruch the son of Neriah setteth thee on against us, to deliver us into the hand of the Chaldeans, that they may put us to death, and carry us away captives to Babylon.'
4於是 加利亞 的兒子 約哈難 和一切軍長，並眾百姓，不聽從耶和華的話住在 猶大 地。
4So Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, and all the people, hearkened not to the voice of the LORD, to dwell in the land of Judah.
5加利亞 的兒子 約哈難 和一切軍長卻將所剩下的 猶大 人，就是從被趕到各國回來在 猶大 地寄居的男人、婦女、孩童，和眾公主，並護衛長 尼布撒拉旦 所留在 沙番 的孫子 亞希甘 的兒子 基大利 那裏的眾人，與先知 耶利米 ，以及 尼利亞 的兒子 巴錄 ，
5But Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, took all the remnant of Judah, that were returned from all the nations whither they had been driven to sojourn in the land of Judah:

6the men, and the women, and the children, and the king's daughters, and every person that Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had left with Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, and Jeremiah the prophet, and Baruch the son of Neriah;
7都帶入 埃及 地，到了 答比匿 。這是因他們不聽從耶和華的話。
7and they came into the land of Egypt; for they hearkened not to the voice of the LORD; and they came even to Tahpanhes.
8在 答比匿 ，耶和華的話臨到 耶利米 說：
8Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying:
9「你在 猶大 人眼前要用手拿幾塊大石頭，藏在砌磚的灰泥中，就是在 答比匿 法老的宮門那裏，
9'Take great stones in thy hand, and hide them in the mortar in the framework, which is at the entry of Pharaoh's house in Tahpanhes, in the sight of the men of Judah;
10對他們說：『萬軍之耶和華－ 以色列 的上帝如此說：我必召我的僕人 巴比倫 王 尼布甲尼撒 來。在所藏的石頭上我要安置他的寶座；他必將光華的寶帳支搭在其上。
10and say unto them: Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will send and take Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, My servant, and will set his throne upon these stones that I have hid; and he shall spread his royal pavilion over them.
11他要來攻擊 埃及 地，定為死亡的，必致死亡；定為擄掠的，必被擄掠；定為刀殺的，必交刀殺。
11And he shall come, and shall smite the land of Egypt; such as are for death to death, and such as are for captivity to captivity, and such as are for the sword to the sword.
12我要在 埃及 神的廟中使火着起， 巴比倫 王要將廟宇焚燒，神像擄去；他要得 埃及 地，好像牧人披上外衣，從那裏安然而去。
12And I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt; and he shall burn them, and carry them away captives; and he shall fold up the land of Egypt, as a shepherd foldeth up his garment; and he shall go forth from thence in peace.
13他必打碎 埃及 地 伯‧示麥 的柱像，用火焚燒 埃及 神的廟宇。』」
13He shall also break the pillars of Beth-shemesh, that is in the land of Egypt; and the houses of the gods of Egypt shall he burn with fire.'
