1耶和华按着先前的话眷顾 撒拉 ，便照他所说的给 撒拉 成就。
1And the LORD remembered Sarah as He had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as He had spoken.
2当 亚伯拉罕 年老的时候， 撒拉 怀了孕；到 神所说的日期，就给 亚伯拉罕 生了一个儿子。
2And Sarah conceived, and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.
3亚伯拉罕 给 撒拉 所生的儿子起名叫 以撒 。
3And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bore to him, Isaac.
4以撒 生下来第八日， 亚伯拉罕 照着 神所吩咐的，给 以撒 行了割礼。
4And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac when he was eight days old, as God had commanded him.
5他儿子 以撒 生的时候， 亚伯拉罕 年一百岁。
5And Abraham was a hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him.
6撒拉 说：「 神使我喜笑，凡听见的必与我一同喜笑」；
6And Sarah said: 'God hath made laughter for me; every one that heareth will laugh on account of me.'
7又说：「谁能预先对 亚伯拉罕 说『 撒拉 要乳养婴孩』呢？因为在他年老的时候，我给他生了一个儿子。」
7And she said: 'Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should give children suck? for I have borne him a son in his old age.'
8孩子渐长，就断了奶。 以撒 断奶的日子， 亚伯拉罕 设摆丰盛的筵席。
8And the child grew, and was weaned. And Abraham made a great feast on the day that Isaac was weaned.
9当时， 撒拉 看见 埃及 人 夏甲 给 亚伯拉罕 所生的儿子戏笑，
9And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, whom she had borne unto Abraham, making sport.
10就对 亚伯拉罕 说：「你把这使女和她儿子赶出去！因为这使女的儿子不可与我的儿子 以撒 一同承受产业。」
10Wherefore she said unto Abraham: 'Cast out this bondwoman and her son; for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.'
11亚伯拉罕 因他儿子的缘故很忧愁。
11And the thing was very grievous in Abraham's sight on account of his son.
12神对 亚伯拉罕 说：「你不必为这童子和你的使女忧愁。凡 撒拉 对你说的话，你都该听从；因为从 以撒 生的，才要称为你的后裔。
12And God said unto Abraham: 'Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah saith unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall seed be called to thee.
13至于使女的儿子，我也必使他 的后裔 成立一国，因为他是你所生的。」
13And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed.'
14亚伯拉罕 清早起来，拿饼和一皮袋水，给了 夏甲 ，搭在她的肩上，又把孩子 交给她 ，打发她走。 夏甲 就走了，在 别是巴 的旷野走迷了路。
14And Abraham arose up early in the morning, and took bread and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away; and she departed, and strayed in the wilderness of Beer-sheba.
15皮袋的水用尽了， 夏甲 就把孩子撇在小树底下，
15And the water in the bottle was spent, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs.
16自己走开约有一箭之远，相对而坐，说：「我不忍见孩子死」，就相对而坐，放声大哭。
16And she went, and sat her down over against him a good way off, as it were a bow-shot; for she said: 'Let me not look upon the death of the child.' And she sat over against him, and lifted up her voice, and wept.
17神听见童子的声音； 神的使者从天上呼叫 夏甲 说：「 夏甲 ，你为何这样呢？不要害怕， 神已经听见童子的声音了。
17And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her: 'What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is.
18起来！把童子抱在怀中，我必使他 的后裔 成为大国。」
18Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him fast by thy hand; for I will make him a great nation.'
19神使 夏甲 的眼睛明亮，她就看见一口水井，便去将皮袋盛满了水，给童子喝。
19And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.
20神保佑童子，他就渐长，住在旷野，成了弓箭手。
20And God was with the lad, and he grew; and he dwelt in the wilderness, and became an archer.
21他住在 巴兰 的旷野；他母亲从 埃及 地给他娶了一个妻子。
21And he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran; and his mother took him a wife out of the land of Egypt.
22当那时候， 亚比米勒 同他军长 非各 对 亚伯拉罕 说：「凡你所行的事都有 神的保佑。
22And it came to pass at that time, that Abimelech and Phicol the captain of his host spoke unto Abraham, saying: 'God is with thee in all that thou doest.
23我愿你如今在这里指着 神对我起誓，不要欺负我与我的儿子，并我的子孙。我怎样厚待了你，你也要照样厚待我与你所寄居这地的民。」
23Now therefore swear unto me here by God that thou wilt not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son's son; but according to the kindness that I have done unto thee, thou shalt do unto me, and to the land wherein thou hast sojourned.'
24亚伯拉罕 说：「我情愿起誓。」
24And Abraham said: 'I will swear.'
25从前， 亚比米勒 的仆人霸占了一口水井， 亚伯拉罕 为这事指责 亚比米勒 。
25And Abraham reproved Abimelech because of the well of water, which Abimelech's servants had violently taken away.
26亚比米勒 说：「谁做这事，我不知道，你也没有告诉我，今日我才听见了。」
26And Abimelech said: 'I know not who hath done this thing; neither didst thou tell me, neither yet heard I of it, but to-day.'
27亚伯拉罕 把羊和牛给了 亚比米勒 ，二人就彼此立约。
27And Abraham took sheep and oxen, and gave them unto Abimelech; and they two made a covenant.
28亚伯拉罕 把七只母羊羔另放在一处。
28And Abraham set seven ewe-lambs of the flock by themselves.
29亚比米勒 问 亚伯拉罕 说：「你把这七只母羊羔另放在一处，是什么意思呢？」
29And Abimelech said unto Abraham: 'What mean these seven ewe-lambs which thou hast set by themselves?'
30他说：「你要从我手里受这七只母羊羔，作我挖这口井的证据。」
30And he said: 'Verily, these seven ewe-lambs shalt thou take of my hand, that it may be a witness unto me, that I have digged this well.'
31所以他给那地方起名叫 别是巴 ，因为他们二人在那里起了誓。
31Wherefore that place was called Beer-sheba; because there they swore both of them.
32他们在 别是巴 立了约， 亚比米勒 就同他军长 非各 起身回 非利士 地去了。
32So they made a covenant at Beer-sheba; and Abimelech rose up, and Phicol the captain of his host, and they returned into the land of the Philistines.
33亚伯拉罕 在 别是巴 栽上一棵垂丝柳树，又在那里求告耶和华—永生 神的名。
33And Abraham planted a tamarisk-tree in Beer-sheba, and called there on the name of the LORD, the Everlasting God.
34亚伯拉罕 在 非利士 人的地寄居了多日。
34And Abraham sojourned in the land of the Philistines many days.
