1利亚 给 雅各 所生的女儿 底拿 出去，要见那地的女子们。
1And Dinah the daughter of Leah, whom she had borne unto Jacob, went out to see the daughters of the land.
2那地的主— 希未 人、 哈抹 的儿子 示剑 看见她，就拉住她，与她行淫，玷辱她。
2And Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, the prince of the land, saw her; and he took her, and lay with her, and humbled her.
3示剑 的心系恋 雅各 的女儿 底拿 ，喜爱这女子，甜言蜜语地安慰她。
3And his soul did cleave unto Dinah the daughter of Jacob, and he loved the damsel, and spoke comfortingly unto the damsel.
4示剑 对他父亲 哈抹 说：「求你为我聘这女子为妻。」
4And Shechem spoke unto his father Hamor, saying: 'Get me this damsel to wife.'
5雅各 听见 示剑 玷污了他的女儿 底拿 。那时他的儿子们正和群畜在田野， 雅各 就闭口不言，等他们回来。
5Now Jacob heard that he had defiled Dinah his daughter; and his sons were with his cattle in the field; and Jacob held his peace until they came.
6示剑 的父亲 哈抹 出来见 雅各 ，要和他商议。
6And Hamor the father of Shechem went out unto Jacob to speak with him.
7雅各 的儿子们听见这事，就从田野回来，人人忿恨，十分恼怒；因 示剑 在 以色列 家做了丑事，与 雅各 的女儿行淫，这本是不该做的事。
7And the sons of Jacob came in from the field when they heard it; and the men were grieved, and they were very wroth, because he had wrought a vile deed in Israel in lying with Jacob's daughter; which thing ought not to be done.
8哈抹 和他们商议说：「我儿子 示剑 的心恋慕这女子，求你们将她给我的儿子为妻。
8And Hamor spoke with them, saying 'The soul of my son Shechem longeth for your daughter. I pray you give her unto him to wife.
9你们与我们彼此结亲；你们可以把女儿给我们，也可以娶我们的女儿。
9And make ye marriages with us; give your daughters unto us, and take our daughters unto you.
10你们与我们同住吧！这地都在你们面前，只管在此居住，做买卖，置产业。」
10And ye shall dwell with us; and the land shall be before you; dwell and trade ye therein, and get you possessions therein.'
11示剑 对女儿的父亲和弟兄们说：「但愿我在你们眼前蒙恩，你们向我要什么，我必给你们。
11And Shechem said unto her father and unto her brethren: 'Let me find favour in your eyes, and what ye shall say unto me I will give.
12任凭向我要多重的聘金和礼物，我必照你们所说的给你们；只要把女子给我为妻。」
12Ask me never so much dowry and gift, and I will give according as ye shall say unto me; but give me the damsel to wife.'
13雅各 的儿子们因为 示剑 玷污了他们的妹子 底拿 ，就用诡诈的话回答 示剑 和他父亲 哈抹 ，
13And the sons of Jacob answered Shechem and Hamor his father with guile, and spoke, because he had defiled Dinah their sister,
14对他们说：「我们不能把我们的妹子给没有受割礼的人为妻，因为那是我们的羞辱。
14and said unto them: 'We cannot do this thing, to give our sister to one that is uncircumcised; for that were a reproach unto us.
15惟有一件才可以应允：若你们所有的男丁都受割礼，和我们一样，
15Only on this condition will we consent unto you: if ye will be as we are, that every male of you be circumcised;
16我们就把女儿给你们，也娶你们的女儿；我们便与你们同住，两下成为一样的人民。
16then will we give our daughters unto you, and we will take your daughters to us, and we will dwell with you, and we will become one people.
17倘若你们不听从我们受割礼，我们就带着妹子走了。」
17But if ye will not hearken unto us, to be circumcised; then will we take our daughter, and we will be gone.'
18哈抹 和他的儿子 示剑 喜欢这话。
18And their words pleased Hamor, and Shechem Hamor's son.
19那少年人做这事并不迟延，因为他喜爱 雅各 的女儿；他在他父亲家中也是人最尊重的。
19And the young man deferred not to do the thing, because he had delight in Jacob's daughter. And he was honoured above all the house of his father.
20哈抹 和他儿子 示剑 到本城的门口，对本城的人说：
20And Hamor and Shechem his son came unto the gate of their city, and spoke with the men of their city, saying:
21「这些人与我们和睦，不如许他们在这地居住，做买卖；这地也宽阔，足可容下他们。我们可以娶他们的女儿为妻，也可以把我们的女儿嫁给他们。
21'These men are peaceable with us; therefore let them dwell in the land, and trade therein; for, behold, the land is large enough for them; let us take their daughters to us for wives, and let us give them our daughters.
22惟有一件事我们必须做，他们才肯应允和我们同住，成为一样的人民：就是我们中间所有的男丁都要受割礼，和他们一样。
22Only on this condition will the men consent unto us to dwell with us, to become one people, if every male among us be circumcised, as they are circumcised.
23他们的群畜、货财，和一切的牲口岂不都归我们吗？只要依从他们，他们就与我们同住。」
23Shall not their cattle and their substance and all their beasts be ours? only let us consent unto them, and they will dwell with us.'
24凡从城门出入的人就都听从 哈抹 和他儿子 示剑 的话；于是凡从城门出入的男丁都受了割礼。
24And unto Hamor and unto Shechem his son hearkened all that went out of the gate of his city; and every male was circumcised, all that went out of the gate of his city.
25到第三天，众人正在疼痛的时候， 雅各 的两个儿子，就是 底拿 的哥哥 西缅 和 利未 ，各拿刀剑，趁着众人想不到的时候来到城中，把一切男丁都杀了，
25And it came to pass on the third day, when they were in pain, that two of the sons of Jacob, Simeon and Levi, Dinah's brethren, took each man his sword, and came upon the city unawares, and slew all the males.
26又用刀杀了 哈抹 和他儿子 示剑 ，把 底拿 从 示剑 家里带出来就走了。
26And they slew Hamor and Shechem his son with the edge of the sword, and took Dinah out of Shechem's house, and went forth.
27雅各 的儿子们因为他们的妹子受了玷污，就来到被杀的人那里，掳掠那城，
27The sons of Jacob came upon the slain, and spoiled the city, because they had defiled their sister.
28夺了他们的羊群、牛群，和驴，并城里田间所有的；
28They took their flocks and their herds and their asses, and that which was in the city and that which was in the field;
29又把他们一切货财、孩子、妇女，并各房中所有的，都掳掠去了。
29and all their wealth, and all their little ones and their wives, took they captive and spoiled, even all that was in the house.
30雅各 对 西缅 和 利未 说：「你们连累我，使我在这地的居民中，就是在 迦南 人和 比利洗 人中，有了臭名。我的人丁既然稀少，他们必聚集来击杀我，我和全家的人都必灭绝。」
30And Jacob said to Simeon and Levi: 'Ye have troubled me, to make me odious unto the inhabitants of the land, even unto the Canaanites and the Perizzites; and, I being few in number, they will gather themselves together against me and smite me; and I shall be destroyed, I and my house.'
31他们说：「他岂可待我们的妹子如同妓女吗？」
31And they said: 'Should one deal with our sister as with a harlot?'
