1当 犹大 王 亚们 的儿子 约西亚 在位的时候，耶和华的话临到 希西家 的玄孙， 亚玛利雅 的曾孙， 基大利 的孙子， 古示 的儿子 西番雅 。
1THE WORD of the LORD which came unto Zephaniah the son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hezekiah, in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah.
2耶和华说： 我必从地上除灭万类。
2I will utterly consume all things from off the face of the earth, saith the LORD.
3我必除灭人和牲畜， 与空中的鸟、海里的鱼， 以及绊脚石和恶人； 我必将人从地上剪除。 这是耶和华说的。
3I will consume man and beast, I will consume the fowls of the heaven, and the fishes of the sea, and the stumblingblocks with the wicked; and I will cut off man from off the face of the earth, saith the LORD.
4我必伸手攻击 犹大 和 耶路撒冷 的一切居民， 也必从这地方剪除所剩下的 巴力 ， 并 基玛林 的名和祭司，
4And I will stretch out My hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, and the name of the idolatrous priests with the priests;
5与那些在房顶上敬拜天上万象的， 并那些敬拜耶和华指着他起誓， 又指着 玛勒堪 起誓的，
5And them that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them that worship, that swear to the LORD and swear by Malcam;
6与那些转去不跟从耶和华的， 和不寻求耶和华也不访问他的。
6Them also that are turned back from following the LORD; and those that have not sought the LORD, nor inquired after Him.
7你要在主耶和华面前静默无声， 因为耶和华的日子快到。 耶和华已经预备祭物， 将他的客分别为圣。
7Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord GOD; for the day of the LORD is at hand, for the LORD hath prepared a sacrifice, He hath consecrated His guests.
8到了我—耶和华献祭的日子， 必惩罚首领和王子， 并一切穿外邦衣服的。
8And it shall come to pass in the day of the LORD'S sacrifice, that I will punish the princes, and the king's sons, and all such as are clothed with foreign apparel.
9到那日，我必惩罚一切跳过门槛、 将强暴和诡诈 得来之物 充满主人房屋的。
9In the same day also will I punish all those that leap over the threshold, that fill their master's house with violence and deceit.
10耶和华说：当那日， 从 鱼门 必发出悲哀的声音， 从二城发出哀号的声音， 从山间发出大破裂的响声。
10And in that day, saith the LORD, Hark! a cry from the fish gate, and a wailing from the second quarter, and a great crashing from the hills.
11玛革提施 的居民哪，你们要哀号， 因为 迦南 的商民都灭亡了！ 凡搬运银子的都被剪除。
11Wail, ye inhabitants of Maktesh, for all the merchant people are undone; all they that were laden with silver are cut off.
12那时，我必用灯巡查 耶路撒冷 ； 我必惩罚那些 如酒 在渣滓上澄清的； 他们心里说： 耶和华必不降福，也不降祸。
12And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with lamps; and I will punish the men that are settled on their lees, that say in their heart: 'The LORD will not do good, neither will He do evil.'
13他们的财宝必成为掠物； 他们的房屋必变为荒场。 他们必建造房屋，却不得住在其内； 栽种葡萄园，却不得喝所出的酒。
13Therefore their wealth shall become a booty, and their houses a desolation; yea, they shall build houses, but shall not inhabit them, and they shall plant vineyards, but shall not drink the wine thereof.
14耶和华的大日临近， 临近而且甚快， 乃是耶和华日子的风声； 勇士必痛痛地哭号。
14The great day of the LORD is near, it is near and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD, wherein the mighty man crieth bitterly.
15那日是忿怒的日子， 是急难困苦的日子， 是荒废凄凉的日子， 是黑暗幽冥、密云乌黑的日子，
15That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,
16是吹角呐喊的日子， 要攻击坚固城和高大的城楼。
16A day of the horn and alarm, against the fortified cities, and against the high towers.
17我必使灾祸临到人身上， 使他们行走如同瞎眼的， 因为得罪了我。 他们的血必倒出如灰尘； 他们的肉必抛弃如粪土。
17And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like the blind, because they have sinned against the LORD; and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as dung.
18当耶和华发怒的日子， 他们的金银不能救他们； 他的忿怒如火必烧灭全地， 毁灭这地的一切居民，而且大大毁灭。
18Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD'S wrath; but the whole earth shall be devoured by the fire of His jealousy; for He will make and end, yea, a terrible end, of all them that dwell in the earth.
