1耶和华对 亚伯兰 说：「你要离开本地、本族、父家，往我所要指示你的地去。
1Now the LORD said unto Abram: 'Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto the land that I will show thee.
2我必叫你成为大国。我必赐福给你，叫你的名为大；你也要叫别人得福。
2And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and be thou a blessing.
3为你祝福的，我必赐福与他；那咒诅你的，我必咒诅他。地上的万族都要因你得福。」
3And I will bless them that bless thee, and him that curseth thee will I curse; and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed.'
4亚伯兰 就照着耶和华的吩咐去了； 罗得 也和他同去。 亚伯兰 出 哈兰 的时候年七十五岁。
4So Abram went, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him; and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.
5亚伯兰 将他妻子 撒莱 和侄儿 罗得 ，连他们在 哈兰 所积蓄的财物、所得的人口，都带往 迦南 地去。他们就到了 迦南 地。
5And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came.
6亚伯兰 经过那地，到了 示剑 地方、 摩利 橡树那里。那时 迦南 人住在那地。
6And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Shechem, unto the terebinth of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land.
7耶和华向 亚伯兰 显现，说：「我要把这地赐给你的后裔。」 亚伯兰 就在那里为向他显现的耶和华筑了一座坛。
7And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said: 'Unto thy seed will I give this land'; and he builded there an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.
8从那里他又迁到 伯特利 东边的山，支搭帐棚；西边是 伯特利 ，东边是 艾 。他在那里又为耶和华筑了一座坛，求告耶和华的名。
8And he removed from thence unto the mountain on the east of Beth-el, and pitched his tent, having Beth-el on the west, and Ai on the east; and he builded there an altar unto the LORD, and called upon the name of the LORD.
9后来 亚伯兰 又渐渐迁往南地去。
9And Abram journeyed, going on still toward the South.
10那地遭遇饥荒。因饥荒甚大， 亚伯兰 就下 埃及 去，要在那里暂居。
10And there was a famine in the land; and Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there; for the famine was sore in the land.
11将近 埃及 ，就对他妻子 撒莱 说：「我知道你是容貌俊美的妇人。
11And it came to pass, when he was come near to enter into Egypt, that he said unto Sarai his wife: 'Behold now, I know that thou art a fair woman to look upon.
12埃及 人看见你必说：『这是他的妻子』，他们就要杀我，却叫你存活。
12And it will come to pass, when the Egyptians shall see thee, that they will say: This is his wife; and they will kill me, but thee they will keep alive.
13求你说，你是我的妹子，使我因你得平安，我的命也因你存活。」
13Say, I pray thee, thou art my sister; that it may be well with me for thy sake, and that my soul may live because of thee.'
14及至 亚伯兰 到了 埃及 ， 埃及 人看见那妇人极其美貌。
14And it came to pass, that, when Abram was come into Egypt, the Egyptians beheld the woman that she was very fair.
15法老的臣宰看见了她，就在法老面前夸奖她。那妇人就被带进法老的宫去。
15And the princes of Pharaoh saw her, and praised her to Pharaoh; and the woman was taken into Pharaoh's house.
16法老因这妇人就厚待 亚伯兰 ， 亚伯兰 得了许多牛、羊、骆驼、公驴、母驴、仆婢。
16And he dealt well with Abram for her sake; and he had sheep, and oxen, and he-asses, and men-servants, and maid-servants, and she-asses, and camels.
17耶和华因 亚伯兰 妻子 撒莱 的缘故，降大灾与法老和他的全家。
17And the LORD plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai Abram's wife.
18法老就召了 亚伯兰 来，说：「你这向我做的是什么事呢？为什么没有告诉我她是你的妻子？
18And Pharaoh called Abram, and said: 'What is this that thou hast done unto me? why didst thou not tell me that she was thy wife?
19为什么说她是你的妹子，以致我把她取来要作我的妻子？现在你的妻子在这里，可以带她走吧。」
19Why saidst thou: She is my sister? so that I took her to be my wife; now therefore behold thy wife, take her, and go thy way.'
20于是法老吩咐人将 亚伯兰 和他妻子，并他所有的都送走了。
20And Pharaoh gave men charge concerning him; and they brought him on the way, and his wife, and all that he had.
