1І рушив Ізраїль з усїм своїм, і прийшов до Бейер-Саби, і принїс жертву Богові отця свого Ізаака.
1And Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beer-sheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac.
2І рече Бог до Ізраїля в привиддях ночних, і рече: Якове! Якове! Він же озвавсь: Чую!
2And God spoke unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said: 'Jacob, Jacob.' And he said: 'Here am I.'
3І рече: Я Бог, Бог отцїв твоїх. Не опасуйся спуститись у Египет; народом бо великим сотворю тебе там.
3And He said: 'I am God, the God of thy father; fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation.
4Я сам із тобою спущусь у Египет, і я ж возведу тебе, і Йосиф положить руку свою на очі твої.
4I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again; and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes.'
5І рушив Яков од Бейер-Саби, і повезли сини Ізраїлеві панотця свого і малечу свою, і жени свої на колесницях, що послав Фараон по його.
5And Jacob rose up from Beer-sheba; and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.
6І позабирали статки свої й усе майно, що надбали в Канаан землї, і прибули в Египет Яков і все насїннє його з ним.
6And they took their cattle, and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, Jacob, and all his seed with him;
7Сини свої і сини синів своїх, дочки свої і дочки синів своїх, і все насїннє своє привів у Египет із собою.
7his sons, and his sons' sons with him, his daughters, and his sons' daughters, and all his seed brought he with him into Egypt.
8Се ж імена синів Ізрайлевих, що поприходили в Египет: Яков та сини його; первенець Яковів: Рубен.
8And these are the names of the children of Israel, who came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob's first-born.
9Синове ж Рубенові: Ганох та Паллуй, Хезрон та Кармїй.
9And the sons of Reuben: Hanoch, and Pallu, and Hezron, and Carmi.
10Синове ж Симеонові: Ємуїл і Ямин та Огад та Яхин та Зогар та Савул, син Канаанки.
10And the sons of Simeon: Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitish woman.
11Синове ж Левієві: Герсон, Кагат та Мерарій.
11And the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
12Сини ж Юдові: Гер та Онан та Села та Перез та Серах; повмирали ж Гер та Онан у Канаан землї. А синове Перезові були: Гезрон та Гамуль.
12And the sons of Judah: Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Perez, and Zerah; but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. And the sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul.
13Синове ж Іссахарові: Тоса та Пува та Йов та Симрон.
13And the sons of Issachar: Tola, and Puvah, and Iob, and Shimron.
14Синове ж Зебулонові: Серед та Елон та Яхлеїль.
14And the sons of Zebulun: Sered, and Elon, and Jahleel.
15Се Леїні синове, що вродила Яковові в Падан-Арамі, та Дину, дочку його. Усїх душ синів його і дочок його трийцять і три душі.
15These are the sons of Leah, whom she bore unto Jacob in Paddan-aram, with his daughter Dinah; all the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty and three.
16Синове ж Гадові: Зифйон та Гаггій, Сунїй та Єзбон, Єрій та Ародїй та Арелїй.
16And the sons of Gad: Ziphion, and Haggi, Shuni, and Ezbon, Eri, and Arodi, and Areli.
17Синове ж Ассерові: Імна та Ішва та Ішвій та Берія, та Сераха, сестра їх. Синове ж Берієві: Гебер та Малкієль.
17And the sons of Asher: Imnah, and Ishvah, and Ishvi, and Beriah, and Serah their sister; and the sons of Beriah: Heber, and Malchiel.
18Се сини Зелфи, що дав Лабан Леї, дочцї своїй, що вродила їх Яковові шіснайцятеро душ.
18These are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter, and these she bore unto Jacob, even sixteen souls.
19Синове ж Рахелї, жони Яковової: Йосиф та Бенямин.
19The sons of Rachel Jacob's wife: Joseph and Benjamin.
20І родились Йосифові в Египецькій землї: Манассїй та Ефраїм, що вродила йому Асната, дочка Потифара, сьвященника Онського.
20And unto Joseph in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, whom Asenath the daughter of Poti-phera priest of On bore unto him.
21Синове ж Беняминові: Бела та Бехер та Асбель, Гера та Нааман, Єхій та Рош, Муппим та Гуппим та Ард.
21And the sons of Benjamin: Bela, and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera, and Naaman, Ehi, and Rosh, Muppim, and Huppim, and Ard.
22Се синове Рахелині, що вродила їх Яковові, всїх, душ чотирнайцятеро.
22These are the sons of Rachel, who were born to Jacob; all the souls were fourteen.
23Синове ж Данові: Гусим.
23And the sons of Dan: Hushim.
24Синове ж Нафталїєві: Яхзеєль та Гунїй та Єзер та Силлем.
24And the sons of Naphtali: Jahzeel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shillem.
25Се синове Білжині, що дав її Лабан Рахелї, дочцї своїй, і вродила їх Яковові всього сїм душ сих.
25These are the sons of Bilhah, whom Laban gave unto Rachel his daughter, and these she bore unto Jacob; all the souls were seven.
26Усїх же душ, що поприходили з Яковом в Египет, і що повиходили з чересел його, опріч жінок синів Яковових, всїх душ шістьдесять і шість.
26All the souls belonging to Jacob that came into Egypt, that came out of his loins, besides Jacob's sons' wives, all the souls were threescore and six.
27Синове Йосифові, що понароджувались йому в Египтї, дві душі. А всїх душ дому Яковового, що прийшли з Яковом у Египет, душ сїмдесять.
27And the sons of Joseph, who were born to him in Egypt, were two souls; all the souls of the house of Jacob, that came into Egypt, were threescore and ten.
28Юду ж послав перед собою до Йосифа направляти лице його до Госену. Як прибули ж вони в Госен землю,
28And he sent Judah before him unto Joseph, to show the way before him unto Goshen; and they came into the land of Goshen.
29Запріг Йосиф колесницю свою, і поїхав назустріч Ізраїлеві, панотцеві свойму в Госен, і побачив його, і впав йому на шию, і плакався плачем великим.
29And Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen; and he presented himself unto him, and fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while.
30І каже Ізраїль до Йосифа: Тепер хоч і вмерти, бо побачив лице твоє; жив єси!
30And Israel said unto Joseph: 'Now let me die, since I have seen thy face, that thou art yet alive.'
31І каже Йосиф свойму браттю та всему домові панотця свого: Поїду, сповіщу Фараона, і скажу йому: браттє моє, та дом панотця мого, що були в Канаан землї, прибули до мене.
31And Joseph said unto his brethren, and unto his father's house: 'I will go up, and tell Pharaoh, and will say unto him: My brethren, and my father's house, who were in the land of Canaan, are come unto me;
32Вони ж чабани собі; їх ремество було випасувати скотину, і поприганялись із вівцями й товариною і з усїм статком своїм.
32and the men are shepherds, for they have been keepers of cattle; and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have.
33Як же прикличе вас Фараон, і скаже вам: Яке ваше ремество?
33And it shall come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call you, and shall say: What is your occupation?
34Кажіте: Чабани єсьмо, раби твої, змалку та й по сей день, і ми й батьки наші, щоб вам осїстись у Госен землї. Чабанами ж бо гидують Египтяне.
34that ye shall say: Thy servants have been keepers of cattle from our youth even until now, both we, and our fathers; that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians.'
