1“ใจผมเหนื่อยหน่ายชีวิตนี้ ผมจะปล่อยคำร้องทุกข์ออกมาเต็มที่ จะพูดด้วยความขมขื่นในใจ
1“I loathe my own life; I will express my complaint and speak in the bitterness of my soul.
2ผมจะบอกพระเจ้าว่า ‘อย่าตัดสินว่าข้าพเจ้าผิด โปรดบอกว่าทำไมพระองค์จึงต่อสู้กับข้าพเจ้า
2I will say to God: Do not condemn me! Let me know why You prosecute me.
3พระองค์เห็นดีหรือที่จะกดขี่ ดูหมิ่นผลงานจากมือพระองค์เอง และยิ้มให้แผนของคนชั่ว?
3Does it please You to oppress me, to reject the work of Your hands and favor the schemes of the wicked?
4พระองค์มีดวงตาที่เป็นเนื้อหนังหรือ? มองเห็นเหมือนมนุษย์หรือ?
4Do You have eyes of flesh? Do You see as man sees?
5วันเวลาของพระองค์เหมือนของผู้ต้องตายหรือ ปีของพระองค์เหมือนปีของมนุษย์หรือ
5Are Your days like those of a mortal, or Your years like those of a man,
6จึงสอบสวนความผิดข้าพเจ้า และค้นหาบาปข้าพเจ้า?
6that You should seek my iniquity and search out my sin—
7ทั้งที่พระองค์รู้ว่าข้าพเจ้าไม่ใช่คนชั่ว ก็ไม่มีใครช่วยข้าพเจ้าให้พ้นมือพระองค์ได้
7though You know that I am not guilty, and there is no deliverance from Your hand?
8“‘มือพระองค์ขึ้นรูปและสร้างข้าพเจ้าทั้งตัว แต่พระองค์กลับทำลายข้าพเจ้า
8Your hands shaped me and altogether formed me. Would You now turn and destroy me?
9ขอระลึกว่า พระองค์ปั้นข้าพเจ้าเหมือนดินเหนียว จะให้ข้าพเจ้ากลับเป็นฝุ่นอีกหรือ?
9Please remember that You molded me like clay. Would You now return me to dust?
10พระองค์ไม่ได้เทข้าพเจ้าออกมาเหมือนน้ำนม ทำให้จับตัวเหมือนเนยแข็งหรือ?
10Did You not pour me out like milk, and curdle me like cheese?
11พระองค์หุ้มข้าพเจ้าด้วยหนังและเนื้อ สานข้าพเจ้าเข้าด้วยกันด้วยกระดูกและเอ็น
11You clothed me with skin and flesh, and knit me together with bones and sinews.
12พระองค์ให้ชีวิตและความรักเมตตาแก่ข้าพเจ้า การดูแลของพระองค์รักษาวิญญาณข้าพเจ้าไว้
12You have granted me life and loving devotion, and Your care has preserved my spirit.
13แต่พระองค์ซ่อนสิ่งเหล่านี้ไว้ในใจ ข้าพเจ้ารู้ว่าพระองค์คิดเช่นนี้
13Yet You concealed these things in Your heart, and I know that this was in Your mind:
14ถ้าข้าพเจ้าทำบาป พระองค์จะจับตาดู จะไม่ยกโทษความผิดให้ข้าพเจ้า
14If I sinned, You would take note, and would not acquit me of my iniquity.
15ถ้าข้าพเจ้าชั่วร้าย ข้าพเจ้าก็วิบัติ แม้ข้าพเจ้าเที่ยงธรรม ก็ยังเงยหน้าไม่ได้ เพราะเต็มไปด้วยความอับอาย และตระหนักถึงความทุกข์ของตน
15If I am guilty, woe to me! And even if I am righteous, I cannot lift my head. I am full of shame and aware of my affliction.
16ถ้าข้าพเจ้าเชิดหน้า พระองค์ก็ล่าข้าพเจ้าเหมือนสิงโต แสดงอำนาจต่อข้าพเจ้าอีกครั้ง
16Should I hold my head high, You would hunt me like a lion, and again display Your power against me.
17พระองค์นำพยานมาปรักปรำข้าพเจ้าใหม่ เพิ่มความโกรธต่อข้าพเจ้า มีแต่การผลัดเปลี่ยนและสงครามอยู่กับข้าพเจ้า
17You produce new witnesses against me and multiply Your anger toward me. Hardships assault me in wave after wave.
18“‘แล้วทำไมพระองค์ให้ข้าพเจ้าออกจากครรภ์? ข้าพเจ้าอยากสิ้นลมหายใจไปโดยไม่มีตาใดเห็น
18Why then did You bring me from the womb? Oh, that I had died, and no eye had seen me!
19คงเป็นเหมือนไม่เคยมีตัวตน ถูกนำจากครรภ์ไปสู่หลุมศพ
19If only I had never come to be, but had been carried from the womb to the grave.
20วันเวลาข้าพเจ้าเหลือเพียงน้อยนิดไม่ใช่หรือ? หยุดเถิด! ปล่อยข้าพเจ้าไว้ตามลำพัง ให้ได้รับความปลอบใจสักนิด
20Are my days not few? Withdraw from me, that I may have a little comfort,
21ก่อนจะไปยังที่ที่กลับมาไม่ได้ สู่ดินแดนแห่งความมืดและเงาแห่งความตาย
21before I go—never to return— to a land of darkness and gloom,
22ดินแดนที่มืดเหมือนเที่ยงคืน ดินแดนแห่งเงาความตาย ไร้แบบแผนใดๆ ที่แม้แต่แสงก็เหมือนเที่ยงคืน’”
22to a land of utter darkness, of deep shadow and disorder, where even the light is like darkness.”
