1Louvem o SENHOR! Louve o SENHOR, minha alma.
1Praise ye the LORD . Praise the LORD , O my soul.
2Enquanto eu viver, louvarei o SENHOR. Cantarei louvores ao meu Deus enquanto eu existir.
2While I live will I praise the LORD : I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.
3Não confiem em príncipes, nem em um filho do homem, em quem não há socorro.
3Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.
4O seu espírito se vai, e ele volta para a terra. Naquele mesmo dia, os seus pensamentos perecem.
4His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.
5Feliz é aquele que tem o Deus de Jacó como seu auxílio, cuja esperança está no SENHOR, o seu Deus,
5Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God:
6que fez os céus e a terra, o mar, e tudo o que neles há; que guarda a verdade para sempre;
6Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever:
7que faz justiça aos oprimidos; que dá alimento aos famintos. O SENHOR liberta os prisioneiros.
7Which executeth judgment for the oppressed: which giveth food to the hungry. The LORD looseth the prisoners:
8O SENHOR abre os olhos dos cegos. O SENHOR levanta os que estão prostrados. O SENHOR ama os justos.
8The LORD openeth the eyes of the blind: the LORD raiseth them that are bowed down: the LORD loveth the righteous:
9O SENHOR protege os estrangeiros. Ele ampara o órfão e a viúva, mas transtorna o caminho dos ímpios.
9The LORD preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down.
10O SENHOR reinará para sempre; o seu Deus, ó Sião, por todas as gerações. Louvem o SENHOR!
10The LORD shall reign for ever, even thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise ye the LORD .
