1And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:
1พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสกับโมเสสว่า
2Speak unto the children of Israel, saying: If a woman be delivered, and bear a man-child, then she shall be unclean seven days; as in the days of the impurity of her sickness shall she be unclean.
2“จงกล่าวแก่ชาวอิสราเอลว่า ‘ถ้าหญิงคนหนึ่งตั้งครรภ์และคลอดบุตรชาย หญิงนั้นจะไม่สะอาดตามพิธีเจ็ดวัน เช่นเดียวกับช่วงที่มีประจำเดือน
3And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.
3ในวันที่แปด ต้องทำพิธีเข้าสุหนัตที่หนังหุ้มปลายของเด็กชาย
4And she shall continue in the blood of purification three and thirty days; she shall touch no hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purification be fulfilled.
4หญิงนั้นต้องอยู่ในช่วงชำระจากเลือดหลังคลอดต่อไปอีกสามสิบสามวัน ห้ามแตะต้องสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์ใด ๆ และห้ามเข้าไปในสถานบริสุทธิ์จนกว่าจะครบกำหนดการชำระของนาง
5But if she bear a maid-child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her impurity; and she shall continue in the blood of purification threescore and six days.
5แต่ถ้าคลอดบุตรหญิง หญิงนั้นจะไม่สะอาดตามพิธีสองสัปดาห์ เช่นเดียวกับช่วงมีประจำเดือน และต้องอยู่ในช่วงชำระจากเลือดหลังคลอดต่อไปอีกหกสิบหกวัน
6And when the days of her purification are fulfilled, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb of the first year for a burnt-offering, and a young pigeon, or a turtle-dove, for a sin-offering, unto the door of the tent of meeting, unto the priest.
6“‘เมื่อครบกำหนดการชำระของนาง ไม่ว่าจะคลอดบุตรชายหรือบุตรหญิง นางต้องนำลูกแกะอายุหนึ่งปีหนึ่งตัวสำหรับเครื่องเผาบูชา และลูกนกพิราบหรือนกเขาหนึ่งตัวสำหรับเครื่องบูชาบาป ไปให้ปุโรหิตที่ทางเข้าเต็นท์นัดพบ
7And he shall offer it before the LORD, and make atonement for her; and she shall be cleansed from the fountain of her blood. This is the law for her that beareth, whether a male or a female.
7ปุโรหิตต้องถวายสิ่งเหล่านั้นต่อหน้าพระยาห์เวห์และประกอบพิธีลบล้างให้แก่นาง แล้วนางจะสะอาดจากภาวะเลือดไหลหลังคลอด “‘นี่คือกฎสำหรับหญิงที่คลอดบุตร ไม่ว่าจะเป็นชายหรือหญิง
8And if her means suffice not for a lamb, then she shall take two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons: the one for a burnt-offering, and the other for a sin-offering; and the priest shall make atonement for her, and she shall be clean.
8ถ้านางไม่มีกำลังพอจะหาลูกแกะ ให้นางนำนกเขาสองตัวหรือลูกนกพิราบสองตัว ตัวหนึ่งเป็นเครื่องเผาบูชา และอีกตัวหนึ่งเป็นเครื่องบูชาบาป ปุโรหิตต้องประกอบพิธีลบล้างให้แก่นาง แล้วนางจะสะอาดตามพิธี’”
