1And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:
1พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสกับโมเสสว่า
2'Speak unto the children of Israel, that they turn back and encamp before Pi-hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, before Baal-zephon, over against it shall ye encamp by the sea.
2“จงบอกชาวอิสราเอลให้ย้อนกลับไปและตั้งค่ายตรงหน้าปีหะฮีโรท ระหว่างมิกดลกับทะเล ตรงข้ามบาอัลเซโฟน ให้พวกเขาตั้งค่ายริมทะเลตรงข้ามสถานที่นั้น
3And Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel: They are entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut them in.
3ฟาโรห์จะพูดถึงชาวอิสราเอลว่า ‘พวกเขาติดอยู่ในแผ่นดิน ถิ่นทุรกันดารปิดทางพวกเขาไว้แล้ว’
4And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and he shall follow after them; and I will get Me honour upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; and the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD.' And they did so.
4เราจะทำให้ใจฟาโรห์แข็งกระด้าง เขาจะไล่ตามพวกเขา แล้วสิ่งที่เราทำต่อฟาโรห์และกองทัพทั้งหมดของเขาจะทำให้เกียรติของเราปรากฏ ชาวอียิปต์จะได้รู้ว่าเราคือพระยาห์เวห์” ชาวอิสราเอลก็ทำตามนั้น
5And it was told the king of Egypt that the people were fled; and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was turned towards the people, and they said: 'What is this we have done, that we have let Israel go from serving us?
5เมื่อกษัตริย์อียิปต์ได้รับข่าวว่าประชาชนหนีไปแล้ว ใจของฟาโรห์กับข้ารับใช้ที่มีต่อประชาชนก็เปลี่ยนไป พวกเขาพูดว่า “เราทำอะไรลงไปนี่ ถึงปล่อยอิสราเอลไปไม่ให้รับใช้เราแล้ว?”
6And he made ready his chariots, and took his people with him.
6ฟาโรห์จึงเตรียมรถศึกและนำกองทัพไปด้วย
7And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over all of them.
7เขานำรถศึกที่คัดไว้ 600 คัน พร้อมรถศึกทั้งหมดของอียิปต์ และมีนายกองควบคุมรถทุกคัน
8And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel; for the children of Israel went out with a high hand.
8พระยาห์เวห์ทำให้ใจของฟาโรห์กษัตริย์อียิปต์แข็งกระด้าง เขาจึงไล่ตามชาวอิสราเอล ขณะที่ชาวอิสราเอลออกไปอย่างองอาจ
9And the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Pi-hahiroth, in front of Baal-zephon.
9ชาวอียิปต์ไล่ตามพวกเขา ทั้งม้า รถศึก ทหารม้า และกองทัพทั้งหมดของฟาโรห์ จนตามทันขณะที่พวกเขาตั้งค่ายอยู่ริมทะเล ข้างปีหะฮีโรท ตรงหน้าบาอัลเซโฟน
10And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians were marching after them; and they were sore afraid; and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD.
10เมื่อฟาโรห์เข้ามาใกล้ ชาวอิสราเอลเงยหน้าขึ้นและเห็นว่าชาวอียิปต์กำลังเดินทัพไล่ตามมา พวกเขาก็กลัวอย่างมาก จึงร้องทูลพระยาห์เวห์
11And they said unto Moses: 'Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to bring us forth out of Egypt?
11พวกเขาพูดกับโมเสสว่า “ในอียิปต์ไม่มีหลุมฝังศพหรืออย่างไร คุณถึงพาพวกเราออกมาตายในถิ่นทุรกันดาร? ทำไมถึงทำกับพวกเราแบบนี้ พาเราออกจากอียิปต์มา?
12Is not this the word that we spoke unto thee in Egypt, saying: Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it were better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.'
12พวกเราไม่ได้บอกคุณตอนอยู่ในอียิปต์หรือว่า ‘ปล่อยพวกเราไว้เถอะ ให้เรารับใช้ชาวอียิปต์ต่อไป’? รับใช้ชาวอียิปต์ยังดีกว่ามาตายในถิ่นทุรกันดาร”
13And Moses said unto the people: 'Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will work for you to-day; for whereas ye have seen the Egyptians to-day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.
13โมเสสพูดกับประชาชนว่า “อย่ากลัว จงยืนมั่นคงแล้วดูว่าพระยาห์เวห์จะช่วยพวกคุณให้รอดอย่างไรในวันนี้ เพราะชาวอียิปต์ที่พวกคุณเห็นวันนี้ คุณจะไม่ได้เห็นพวกเขาอีกเลย
14The LORD will fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.'
14พระยาห์เวห์จะต่อสู้เพื่อพวกคุณ ส่วนพวกคุณจงอยู่นิ่ง ๆ”
15And the LORD said unto Moses: 'Wherefore criest thou unto Me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward.
15พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสกับโมเสสว่า “ทำไมเจ้าร้องหาเรา? จงบอกชาวอิสราเอลให้เดินหน้าต่อไป
16And lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thy hand over the sea, and divide it; and the children of Israel shall go into the midst of the sea on dry ground.
16ยกไม้เท้าของเจ้าขึ้น แล้วเหยียดมือออกเหนือทะเลให้ทะเลแยกออก ชาวอิสราเอลจะเดินผ่านกลางทะเลไปบนพื้นแห้ง
17And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall go in after them; and I will get Me honour upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.
17ดูสิ เราเองจะทำให้ใจของชาวอียิปต์แข็งกระด้าง แล้วพวกเขาจะตามลงไป สิ่งที่เราทำต่อฟาโรห์ ต่อกองทัพทั้งหมด ต่อรถศึก และต่อทหารม้าของเขาจะทำให้เกียรติของเราปรากฏ
18And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I have gotten Me honour upon Pharaoh, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.'
18เมื่อสิ่งที่เราทำต่อฟาโรห์ ต่อรถศึก และต่อทหารม้าของเขาทำให้เกียรติของเราปรากฏ ชาวอียิปต์จะรู้ว่าเราคือพระยาห์เวห์”
19And the angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud removed from before them, and stood behind them;
19ทูตของพระเจ้าที่เคยนำหน้าค่ายอิสราเอลก็เคลื่อนจากด้านหน้าไปอยู่ด้านหลัง และเสาเมฆก็เคลื่อนจากหน้าพวกเขาไปตั้งอยู่ข้างหลัง
20and it came between the camp of Egypt and the camp of Israel; and there was the cloud and the darkness here, yet gave it light by night there; and the one came not near the other all the night.
20เสาเมฆนั้นมาอยู่ระหว่างค่ายอียิปต์กับค่ายอิสราเอล ที่นั่นมีทั้งเมฆและความมืด แต่เสานั้นก็ให้แสงสว่างในเวลากลางคืน ทั้งสองฝ่ายจึงไม่เข้าใกล้กันตลอดคืนนั้น
21And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all the night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.
21โมเสสเหยียดมือออกเหนือทะเล พระยาห์เวห์ใช้ลมตะวันออกแรงกล้าพัดทะเลให้ถอยกลับตลอดทั้งคืน ทำให้ทะเลกลายเป็นพื้นแห้งและน้ำแยกออกจากกัน
22And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.
22ชาวอิสราเอลจึงเดินเข้าไปกลางทะเลบนพื้นแห้ง โดยมีน้ำตั้งเป็นกำแพงอยู่ทางขวาและทางซ้าย
23And the Egyptians pursued, and went in after them into the midst of the sea, all Pharaoh's horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.
23ชาวอียิปต์ไล่ตามเข้าไปกลางทะเล ทั้งม้าของฟาโรห์ รถศึก และทหารม้าทั้งหมด
24And it came to pass in the morning watch, that the LORD looked forth upon the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of cloud, and discomfited the host of the Egyptians.
24พอถึงยามใกล้รุ่ง พระยาห์เวห์มองจากเสาไฟและเสาเมฆลงมายังกองทัพอียิปต์ แล้วทำให้กองทัพอียิปต์สับสนอลหม่าน
25And He took off their chariot wheels, and made them to drive heavily; so that the Egyptians said: 'Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the LORD fighteth for them against the Egyptians.'
25พระองค์ทำให้ล้อรถศึกหลุด จนพวกเขาขับไปอย่างลำบาก ชาวอียิปต์จึงพูดว่า “หนีจากอิสราเอลกันเถอะ เพราะพระยาห์เวห์กำลังรบเพื่ออิสราเอลและต่อสู้กับชาวอียิปต์!”
26And the LORD said unto Moses: 'Stretch out thy hand over the sea, that the waters may come back upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen.'
26พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสกับโมเสสว่า “จงเหยียดมือออกเหนือทะเล ให้น้ำกลับมาท่วมชาวอียิปต์ รถศึก และทหารม้าของพวกเขา”
27And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.
27โมเสสเหยียดมือออกเหนือทะเล พอรุ่งเช้าทะเลก็ไหลกลับคืนสู่สภาพเดิม ชาวอียิปต์พยายามหนี แต่น้ำไหลสวนพวกเขามา พระยาห์เวห์เหวี่ยงชาวอียิปต์ลงกลางทะเล
28And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, even all the host of Pharaoh that went in after them into the sea; there remained not so much as one of them.
28น้ำกลับมาท่วมรถศึก ทหารม้า และกองทัพทั้งหมดของฟาโรห์ที่ตามชาวอิสราเอลลงไปในทะเล ไม่มีใครเหลือรอดแม้แต่คนเดียว
29But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.
29แต่ชาวอิสราเอลเดินบนพื้นแห้งกลางทะเล โดยมีน้ำเป็นกำแพงอยู่ทางขวาและทางซ้าย
30Thus the LORD saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea-shore.
30วันนั้นพระยาห์เวห์ช่วยอิสราเอลให้พ้นจากมือของชาวอียิปต์ และอิสราเอลเห็นศพชาวอียิปต์อยู่ริมทะเล
31And Israel saw the great work which the LORD did upon the Egyptians, and the people feared the LORD; and they believed in the LORD, and in His servant Moses.
31เมื่ออิสราเอลเห็นการกระทำอันยิ่งใหญ่ที่พระยาห์เวห์กระทำต่อชาวอียิปต์ ประชาชนก็เกรงกลัวพระยาห์เวห์ วางใจในพระยาห์เวห์ และเชื่อถือโมเสสผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์
