1And unto Moses He said: 'Come up unto the LORD, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship ye afar off;
1พระองค์ตรัสกับโมเสสว่า “จงขึ้นมาหาพระยาห์เวห์ เจ้า อาโรน นาดับ อาบีฮู และผู้อาวุโสของอิสราเอล 70 คน แล้วกราบนมัสการจากระยะไกล
2and Moses alone shall come near unto the LORD; but they shall not come near; neither shall the people go up with him.'
2ให้โมเสสเพียงคนเดียวเข้ามาใกล้พระยาห์เวห์ ส่วนคนอื่นห้ามเข้ามาใกล้ และประชาชนห้ามขึ้นมากับเขา”
3And Moses came and told the people all the words of the LORD, and all the ordinances; and all the people answered with one voice, and said: 'All the words which the Lord hath spoken will we do.'
3โมเสสกลับมาบอกประชาชนถึงถ้อยคำทั้งหมดของพระยาห์เวห์และข้อกำหนดทั้งหมด ประชาชนทุกคนตอบเป็นเสียงเดียวกันว่า “ทุกถ้อยคำที่พระยาห์เวห์ตรัส พวกเราจะทำ”
4And Moses wrote all the words of the LORD, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the mount, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel.
4โมเสสเขียนถ้อยคำทั้งหมดของพระยาห์เวห์ไว้ แล้วเช้าตรู่วันรุ่งขึ้นเขาสร้างแท่นบูชาที่เชิงภูเขา และตั้งเสาหิน 12 ต้นแทน 12 เผ่าของอิสราเอล
5And he sent the young men of the children of Israel, who offered burnt-offerings, and sacrificed peace-offerings of oxen unto the LORD.
5เขาส่งชายหนุ่มชาวอิสราเอลไปถวายเครื่องบูชาเผาทั้งตัว และถวายวัวเป็นเครื่องบูชาเพื่อสันติแด่พระยาห์เวห์
6And Moses took half of the blood, and put it in basins; and half of the blood he dashed against the altar.
6โมเสสเอาเลือดครึ่งหนึ่งใส่อ่าง อีกครึ่งหนึ่งพรมลงบนแท่นบูชา
7And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the hearing of the people; and they said: 'All that the LORD hath spoken will we do, and obey.'
7เขาหยิบหนังสือพันธสัญญามาอ่านให้ประชาชนฟัง พวกเขากล่าวว่า “ทุกสิ่งที่พระยาห์เวห์ตรัส พวกเราจะทำและจะเชื่อฟัง”
8And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said: 'Behold the blood of the covenant, which the LORD hath made with you in agreement with all these words.'
8โมเสสเอาเลือดพรมบนประชาชน แล้วพูดว่า “ดูสิ นี่คือเลือดแห่งพันธสัญญาที่พระยาห์เวห์ทำกับพวกคุณตามถ้อยคำทั้งหมดนี้”
9Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel;
9จากนั้นโมเสส อาโรน นาดับ อาบีฮู และผู้อาวุโสของอิสราเอล 70 คนก็ขึ้นไป
10and they saw the God of Israel; and there was under His feet the like of a paved work of sapphire stone, and the like of the very heaven for clearness.
10พวกเขาเห็นพระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอล ใต้เท้าของพระองค์มีสิ่งที่ดูเหมือนพื้นปูด้วยหินไพลิน ใสราวกับท้องฟ้า
11And upon the nobles of the children of Israel He laid not His hand; and they beheld God, and did eat and drink.
11พระองค์ไม่ได้ยื่นมือทำร้ายเหล่าผู้นำของชาวอิสราเอล พวกเขาเห็นพระเจ้า แล้วกินและดื่ม
12And the LORD said unto Moses: 'Come up to Me into the mount and be there; and I will give thee the tables of stone, and the law and the commandment, which I have written, that thou mayest teach them.'
12พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสกับโมเสสว่า “ขึ้นมาหาเราบนภูเขาและอยู่ที่นี่ เราจะให้แผ่นศิลาซึ่งมีคำสอนและคำสั่งที่เราเขียนไว้ เพื่อเจ้าจะได้สอนพวกเขา”
13And Moses rose up, and Joshua his minister; and Moses went up into the mount of God.
13โมเสสลุกขึ้นพร้อมโยชูวาคนรับใช้ของเขา แล้วโมเสสขึ้นไปบนภูเขาของพระเจ้า
14And unto the elders he said: 'Tarry ye here for us, until we come back unto you; and, behold, Aaron and Hur are with you; whosoever hath a cause, let him come near unto them.'
14เขาบอกผู้อาวุโสว่า “รอพวกเราอยู่ที่นี่จนกว่าพวกเราจะกลับมา ดูสิ อาโรนกับเฮอร์อยู่กับพวกท่าน ใครมีเรื่องพิพาทก็ไปหาพวกเขาได้”
15And Moses went up into the mount, and the cloud covered the mount.
15โมเสสขึ้นไปบนภูเขา แล้วเมฆก็ปกคลุมภูเขา
16And the glory of the LORD abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days; and the seventh day He called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud.
16ความรุ่งโรจน์ของพระยาห์เวห์ปกอยู่บนภูเขาซีนาย และเมฆปกคลุมภูเขาอยู่ 6 วัน ในวันที่ 7 พระองค์เรียกโมเสสจากกลางเมฆ
17And the appearance of the glory of the LORD was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel.
17ในสายตาชาวอิสราเอล ความรุ่งโรจน์ของพระยาห์เวห์บนยอดภูเขาดูเหมือนไฟเผาผลาญ
18And Moses entered into the midst of the cloud, and went up into the mount; and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights.
18โมเสสเข้าไปในกลางเมฆและขึ้นไปบนภูเขา เขาอยู่บนภูเขา 40 วัน 40 คืน
