1O Lord, thou art my God, I will exalt thee, and give glory to thy name: for thou hast done wonderful things, thy designs of old faithful, amen.
1พระยาห์เวห์ พระองค์คือพระเจ้าของข้าพเจ้า ข้าพเจ้าจะยกย่องพระองค์ จะสรรเสริญพระนาม เพราะพระองค์ทำสิ่งอัศจรรย์ สิ่งที่วางแผนไว้นานแล้ว ด้วยความซื่อสัตย์และความจริงอย่างครบถ้วน
2For thou hast reduced the city to a heap, the strong city to ruin, the house of strangers, to be no city, and to be no more built up for ever.
2พระองค์ทำเมืองให้เป็นกองซาก เมืองป้อมให้พัง วังของคนต่างชาติไม่เหลือเป็นเมือง จะไม่มีใครสร้างอีกเลย
3Therefore shall a strong people praise thee, the city of mighty nations shall fear thee.
3ชนชาติที่แข็งแกร่งจึงจะถวายเกียรติพระองค์ เมืองของชาติน่าเกรงขามจะยำเกรงพระองค์
4Because thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress: a refuge from the whirlwind, a shadow from the heat. For the blast of the mighty is like a whirlwind beating against a wall.
4เพราะพระองค์เป็นป้อมให้คนจน เป็นป้อมให้คนยากไร้ยามทุกข์ เป็นที่หลบพายุ เป็นร่มเงาหลบร้อน เมื่อลมกระโชกของคนน่าหวาดกลัวเป็นเหมือนพายุกระแทกกำแพง
5Thou shalt bring down the tumult of strangers, as heat in thirst: and as with heat under a burning cloud, thou shalt make the branch of the mighty to wither away.
5พระองค์จะลดเสียงอึกทึกของคนต่างชาติลง เหมือนลดความร้อนในที่แห้ง เพลงของคนน่าหวาดกลัวจะเบาลง เหมือนร่มเมฆลดความร้อน
6And the Lord of hosts shall make unto all people in this mountain, a feast of fat things, a feast of wine, of fat things full of marrow, of wine purified from the lees.
6บนภูเขานี้ พระยาห์เวห์แห่งกองทัพจะจัดงานเลี้ยงให้ทุกชนชาติ มีเนื้อชั้นดี และเหล้าองุ่นชั้นดี มีเนื้อชั้นดีที่เต็มไปด้วยไขกระดูก และเหล้าองุ่นชั้นดีที่กรองอย่างดี
7And he shall destroy in this mountain the face of the bond with which all people were tied, and the web that he began over all nations.
7บนภูเขานี้ พระองค์จะทำลายผิวหน้าของสิ่งที่คลุมทุกชนชาติ และม่านที่กางอยู่เหนือทุกชาติ
8He shall cast death down headlong for ever: and the Lord God shall wipe away tears from every face, and the reproach of his people he shall take away from off the whole earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.
8พระองค์ได้กลืนความตายไปตลอดกาล! พระผู้เป็นเจ้า พระยาห์เวห์ จะเช็ดน้ำตาจากทุกใบหน้า จะเอาความอับอายของประชาชนของพระองค์ออกจากทั้งแผ่นดิน เพราะพระยาห์เวห์ได้กล่าวไว้
9And they shall say in that day: Lo, this is our God, we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord, we have patiently waited for him, we shall rejoice and be joyfull in his salvation.
9ในวันนั้นจะมีคำกล่าวว่า “ดูเถิด นี่คือพระเจ้าของพวกเรา! พวกเราเฝ้าคอยพระองค์ พระองค์จะช่วยพวกเราให้รอด นี่คือพระยาห์เวห์! พวกเราเฝ้าคอยพระองค์ พวกเราจะชื่นบานยินดีในความรอดของพระองค์!”
10For the hand of the Lord shall rest in this mountain: and Moab shall be trodden down under him, as straw is broken in pieces with the wain.
10เพราะมือของพระยาห์เวห์จะพักอยู่บนภูเขานี้ โมอับจะถูกเหยียบในที่ของตน เหมือนฟางถูกเหยียบในน้ำของกองมูลสัตว์
11And he shall stretch forth his hands under him, as he that swimmeth stretcheth forth his hands to swim: and he shall bring down his glory with the dashing of his hands.
11เขาจะกางมืออยู่ในนั้น เหมือนคนที่กางมือว่ายน้ำ แต่ความหยิ่งของเขาจะถูกกดให้ต่ำ พร้อมความชำนาญของมือเขา
12And the bulwarks of thy high walls shall fall, and be brought low, and shall be pulled down to the ground, even to the dust.
12พระองค์ได้ลดป้อมสูงแห่งกำแพงของเจ้าลง ทำให้ต่ำลงถึงพื้น ถึงฝุ่นดิน
