1That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the word of life:
1สิ่งที่มีมาตั้งแต่แรกเริ่ม สิ่งที่เราได้ยิน สิ่งที่เราได้เห็นด้วยตาของเรา สิ่งที่เราได้มองดู และสิ่งที่มือของเราได้สัมผัส ทั้งหมดนี้เกี่ยวกับพระคำแห่งชีวิต
2For the life was manifested; and we have seen and do bear witness, and declare unto you the life eternal, which was with the Father, and hath appeared to us:
2ชีวิตนั้นได้ปรากฏแล้ว เราได้เห็นและเป็นพยาน และประกาศชีวิตนั้นแก่พวกคุณ คือชีวิตนิรันดร์ ซึ่งอยู่กับพระบิดาและได้ปรากฏแก่เรา
3That which we have seen and have heard, we declare unto you, that you also may have fellowship with us, and our fellowship may be with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
3สิ่งที่เราได้เห็นและได้ยิน เราประกาศแก่พวกคุณ เพื่อให้มีส่วนร่วมกับเราด้วย และที่จริง เราก็มีส่วนร่วมกับพระบิดาและกับพระบุตรของพระองค์ คือพระเยซูคริสต์
4And these things we write to you, that you may rejoice, and your joy may be full.
4เราเขียนสิ่งเหล่านี้ถึงพวกคุณ เพื่อความยินดีของเราจะเต็มเปี่ยม
5And this is the declaration which we have heard from him, and declare unto you: That God is light, and in him there is no darkness.
5นี่คือข่าวสารที่เราได้ยินจากพระองค์ และประกาศแก่พวกคุณ คือพระเจ้าเป็นความสว่าง และไม่มีความมืดอยู่ในพระองค์เลย
6If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth.
6ถ้าเราพูดว่าเรามีส่วนร่วมกับพระองค์ แต่ยังดำเนินชีวิตในความมืด เราก็โกหก และไม่ได้พูดความจริง
7But if we walk in the light, as he also is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
7แต่ถ้าเราดำเนินชีวิตในความสว่าง เหมือนที่พระองค์อยู่ในความสว่าง เราก็มีส่วนร่วมกัน และเลือดของพระเยซูคริสต์ พระบุตรของพระองค์ ชำระเราให้สะอาดจากบาปทั้งสิ้น
8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
8ถ้าเราพูดว่าเราไม่มีบาป เราก็หลอกตัวเอง และความจริงไม่ได้อยู่ในเรา
9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all iniquity.
9ถ้าเราสารภาพบาปของเรา พระองค์ซื่อสัตย์และชอบธรรม จึงยกโทษบาปของเราและชำระเราให้สะอาดจากความไม่ชอบธรรมทั้งสิ้น
10If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
10ถ้าเราพูดว่าเราไม่เคยทำบาป เราก็ทำให้พระองค์เป็นผู้โกหก และถ้อยคำของพระองค์ไม่ได้อยู่ในเรา
