1Paul, an apostle, not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead,
1Павел апостол (не від людей і не через чоловіка, а через Ісуса Христа й Бога Отця, що воскресив Його з мертвих),
2And all the brethren who are with me, to the churches of Galatia.
2і все браттє, що зо мною, церквам Галацьким:
3Grace be to you, and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,
3Благодать вам і мир од Бога Отця і від Господа нашого Ісуса Христа,
4Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present wicked world, according to the will of God and our Father:
4що віддав себе за гріхи наші, щоб збавити нас від сього віку лукавого, по волї Бога й Отця нашого,
5To whom is glory for ever and ever. Amen.
5котрому слава на віки вічні. Амінь.
6I wonder that you are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ, unto another gospel.
6Дивуюсь, що так скоро одвернулись від покликавшого вас благодаттю Христовою на друге благовістє.
7Which is not another, only there are some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
7Воно то не друге, та є такі, що вами колотять, і хочуть перевернути благовістє Христове.
8But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach a gospel to you besides that which we have preached to you, let him be anathema.
8Та, коли б і ми або ангел з неба проповідував вам більш того, що ми проповідували вам, нехай буде анатема.
9As we said before, so now I say again: If any one preach to you a gospel, besides that which you have received, let him be anathema.
9Як перше рекли ми, так і тепер глаголю: коли хто благовіствує вам більш того, що ви прийняли, нехай буде анатема.
10For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? If I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
10Бо чи людей я тепер впевняю (шукаю), чи Бога? чи людям шукаю вгодити? Бо коли б я ще людям угождав, то не був би слугою Христовим.
11For I give you to understand, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man.
11Звіщаю ж вам, браттє, що благовістє, благовіщене від мене, не єсть по чоловіку.
12For neither did I receive it of man, nor did I learn it; but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
12Анї бо від чоловіка не прийняв я його, анї не навчивсь, а через одкриттє Ісуса Христа.
13For you have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews’ religion: how that, beyond measure, I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it.
13Чували бо про життє моє колись у Жидівстві, що без міри гонив я церкву Божу, та руйнував її,
14And I made progress in the Jews’ religion above many of my equals in my own nation, being more abundantly zealous for the traditions of my fathers.
14і передував я в Жидівстві перед многими ровесниками народу мого, будучи аж надто ревнителем отцївських моїх переказів.
15But when it pleased him, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by his grace,
15Як же зволив Бог, що вибрав мене від утроби матери моєї, і покликав мене благодаттю своєю,
16To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the Gentiles, immediately I condescended not to flesh and blood.
16відкрити в менї Сина свого, щоб я благовіствував Його між поганами, то зараз не радивсь я з тїлом і кровю,
17Neither went I to Jerusalem, to the apostles who were before me: but I went into Arabia, and again I returned to Damascus.
17анї не вийшов у Єрусалим до тих, що були апостолами перш мене, а пійшов у Аравию, та й знов вернувсь у Дамаск.
18Then, after three years, I went to Jerusalem, to see Peter, and I tarried with him fifteen days.
18Потім через три роки пійшов я в Єрусалим, щоб побачитись із Петром, і пробув у нього пятнайцять день.
19But other of the apostles I saw none, saving James the brother of the Lord.
19Инших же апостолів я не видїв, тільки Якова, брата Господнього.
20Now the things which I write to you, behold, before God, I lie not.
20Що ж пишу до вас, ось вам перед Богом, що не обманюю.
21Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia.
21Потім ходив я в сторони Сирські і Киликийські,
22And I was unknown by face to the churches of Judea, which were in Christ:
22був же незнаний лицем церквам Жидівським у Христї,
23But they had heard only: He, who persecuted us in times past, doth now preach the faith which once he impugned:
23а тільки чували, що гонивший нас колись тепер благовіствує віру, що колись руйнував,
24And they glorified God in me.
24і прославляли у менї Бога.
