1提阿非羅 啊，我已經作了前書，論到耶穌開頭一切所行所教訓的，
1The former treatise I made, O Theophilus, of all things which Jesus began to do and to teach,
2直到他藉着聖靈吩咐所揀選的使徒，以後被接上升的日子為止。
2Until the day on which, giving commandments by the Holy Ghost to the apostles whom he had chosen, he was taken up.
3他受害之後，用許多的憑據將自己活活地顯給使徒看，四十天之久向他們顯現，講說上帝國的事。
3To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion, by many proofs, for forty days appearing to them, and speaking of the kingdom of God.
4耶穌和他們聚集的時候，囑咐他們說：「不要離開 耶路撒冷 ，要等候父所應許的，就是你們聽見我說過的。
4And eating together with them, he commanded them, that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but should wait for the promise of the Father, which you have heard (saith he) by my mouth.
5約翰 是用水施洗，但不多幾日，你們要受聖靈的洗。」
5For John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost, not many days hence.
6他們聚集的時候，問耶穌說：「主啊，你復興 以色列 國就在這時候嗎？」
6They therefore who were come together, asked him, saying: Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
7耶穌對他們說：「父憑着自己的權柄所定的時候、日期，不是你們可以知道的。
7But he said to them: It is not for you to know the times or moments, which the Father hath put in his own power:
8但聖靈降臨在你們身上，你們就必得着能力，並要在 耶路撒冷 、 猶太 全地，和 撒馬利亞 ，直到地極，作我的見證。」
8But you shall receive the power of the Holy Ghost coming upon you, and you shall be witnesses unto me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and even to the uttermost part of the earth.
9說了這話，他們正看的時候，他就被取上升，有一朵雲彩把他接去，便看不見他了。
9And when he had said these things, while they looked on, he was raised up: and a cloud received him out of their sight.
10當他往上去，他們定睛望天的時候，忽然有兩個人身穿白衣，站在旁邊，說：
10And while they were beholding him going up to heaven, behold two men stood by them in white garments.
11「 加利利 人哪，你們為甚麼站着望天呢？這離開你們被接升天的耶穌，你們見他怎樣往天上去，他還要怎樣來。」
11Who also said: Ye men of Galilee, why stand you looking up to heaven? This Jesus who is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come, as you have seen him going into heaven.
12有一座山，名叫 橄欖山 ，離 耶路撒冷 不遠，約有安息日可走的路程。當下，門徒從那裏回 耶路撒冷 去，
12Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount that is called Olivet, which is nigh Jerusalem, within a sabbath day’s journey.
13進了城，就上了所住的一間樓房；在那裏有 彼得 、 約翰 、 雅各 、 安得烈 、 腓力 、 多馬 、 巴多羅買 、 馬太 、 亞勒腓 的兒子 雅各 、奮銳黨的 西門 ，和 雅各 的兒子 猶大 。
13And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode Peter and John, James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James of Alpheus, and Simon Zelotes, and Jude the brother of James.
14這些人同着幾個婦人和耶穌的母親 馬利亞 ，並耶穌的弟兄，都同心合意地恆切禱告。
14All these were persevering with one mind in prayer with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
15那時，有許多人 聚會 ，約有一百二十名， 彼得 就在弟兄中間站起來，
15In those days Peter rising up in the midst of the brethren, said: (now the number of persons together was about an hundred and twenty:)
16說：「弟兄們！聖靈藉 大衛 的口，在聖經上預言領人捉拿耶穌的 猶大 ，這話是必須應驗的。
16Men, brethren, the scripture must needs be fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost spoke before by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who was the leader of them that apprehended Jesus:
17他本來列在我們數中，並且在 使徒的 職任上得了一分。
17Who was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.
18這人用他作惡的工價買了一塊田，以後身子仆倒，肚腹崩裂，腸子都流出來。
18And he indeed hath possessed a field of the reward of iniquity, and being hanged, burst asunder in the midst: and all his bowels gushed out.
19住在 耶路撒冷 的眾人都知道這事，所以按着他們那裏的話給那塊田起名叫 亞革大馬 ，就是「血田」的意思。
19And it became known to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem: so that the same field was called in their tongue, Haceldama, that is to say, The field of blood.
20因為詩篇上寫着，說： 願他的住處變為荒場， 無人在內居住； 又說： 願別人得他的職分。
20For it is written in the book of Psalms: Let their habitation become desolate, and let there be none to dwell therein. And his bishopric let another take.
21所以，主耶穌在我們中間始終出入的時候，
21Wherefore of these men who have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus came in and went out among us,
22就是從 約翰 施洗起，直到主離開我們被接上升的日子為止，必須從那常與我們作伴的人中立一位與我們同作耶穌復活的見證。」
22Beginning from the baptism of John, until the day wherein he was taken up from us, one of these must be made a witness with us of his resurrection.
23於是選舉兩個人，就是那叫做 巴撒巴 ，又稱呼 猶士都 的 約瑟 ，和 馬提亞 。
23And they appointed two, Joseph, called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.
24眾人就禱告說：「主啊，你知道萬人的心，求你從這兩個人中，指明你所揀選的是誰，叫他得這使徒的位分。這位分 猶大 已經丟棄，往自己的地方去了。」
24And praying, they said: Thou, Lord, who knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,

25To take the place of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas hath by transgression fallen, that he might go to his own place.
26於是眾人為他們搖籤，搖出 馬提亞 來；他就和十一個使徒同列。
26And they gave them lots, and the lot fell upon Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
