1เอลีชาผู้เผยพระวจนะเรียกศิษย์ผู้เผยพระวจนะคนหนึ่งมาและพูดกับเขาว่า “คาดเข็มขัดให้กระชับ เอาขวดน้ำมันนี้ถือไว้ในมือ แล้วไปที่ราโมทกิเลอาด
1And Eliseus the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets, slid said to him: Gird up thy loins, and take this little bottle of oil in thy hand, and go to Ramoth Galaad.
2เมื่อไปถึงที่นั่น จงหาเยฮูบุตรเยโฮชาฟัทผู้เป็นบุตรนิมชี เข้าไปหาเขาให้เขาลุกออกจากท่ามกลางพี่น้องของเขา แล้วพาเขาเข้าไปในห้องชั้นใน
2And when thou art come thither, thou shalt see Jehu the son of Josaphat the son of Namsi: and going in thou shalt make him rise up from amongst his brethren, and carry him into an inner chamber.
3จากนั้นเอาขวดน้ำมันเทลงบนศีรษะของเขา แล้วพูดว่า ‘พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสดังนี้ “เราเจิมเจ้าให้เป็นกษัตริย์เหนืออิสราเอลแล้ว”’ แล้วเปิดประตูหนีไป อย่ารอ”
3Then taking the little bottle of oil, thou shalt pour it on his head, and shalt say: Thus saith the Lord: I have anointed thee king over Israel. And thou shalt open the door and flee, and shalt not stay there.

4So the young man, the servant of the prophet, went awry to Ramoth Galaad,
5เมื่อเขาไปถึง ดูสิ บรรดาผู้บัญชาการกองทัพกำลังนั่งกันอยู่ เขาพูดว่า “ท่านผู้บัญชาการ ข้ามีสารมาถึงท่าน” เยฮูถามว่า “ถึงใครในพวกเรา?” เขาตอบว่า “ถึงท่านผู้บัญชาการ”
5And went in thither: and behold the captains of the army were sitting: and he said: I have a word to thee, O prince. And Jehu said: Unto whom of us all? And he said: To thee, O prince.
6เยฮูลุกขึ้นและเข้าไปในบ้าน ชายหนุ่มก็เทน้ำมันลงบนศีรษะของเขา แล้วพูดว่า “พระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอลตรัสดังนี้‘เราเจิมเจ้าให้เป็นกษัตริย์เหนือประชากรของพระยาห์เวห์คือเหนืออิสราเอล
6And he arose, and went into the chamber: and he poured the oil upon his head, and said: Thus saith the Lord God of Israel: I have anointed thee king over Israel, the people of the Lord.
7เจ้าต้องโจมตีวงศ์ของอาหับนายของเจ้า เพื่อเราจะแก้แค้นให้โลหิตของผู้รับใช้ของเรา คือบรรดาผู้เผยพระวจนะ และโลหิตของผู้รับใช้ทั้งหมดของพระยาห์เวห์ซึ่งเยเซเบลเป็นผู้ทำให้หลั่ง
7And thou shalt cut off the house of Achab thy master, and I will revenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the Lord at the hand of Jezabel.
8เพราะวงศ์ของอาหับทั้งหมดจะพินาศ เราจะกำจัดทุกคนของอาหับที่ปัสสาวะใส่กำแพง ทั้งคนที่ถูกกักไว้และคนที่ยังเป็นอิสระในอิสราเอล
8And I will destroy all the house of Achab, and I will cut off from Achab him that pisseth against the well, and him that is shut up, and the meanest in Israel.
9เราจะทำให้วงศ์ของอาหับเหมือนวงศ์ของเยโรโบอัมบุตรเนบัทและเหมือนวงศ์ของบาอาชาบุตรอาหิยาห์
9And I will make the house of Achab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nabat, and like the house of Baasa the son of Ahias.
10สุนัขจะกินเยเซเบลบนที่ดินผืนหนึ่งในยิสเรเอล และจะไม่มีใครฝังศพนาง’” แล้วชายหนุ่มก็เปิดประตูหนีไป
10And the dogs shall eat Jezabel in the field of Jezrahel, and there shall be no one to bury her. And he opened the door and fled.
11เมื่อเยฮูออกมาหาบรรดาผู้รับใช้ของนาย คนหนึ่งก็ถามเขาว่า “ทุกอย่างเรียบร้อยดีหรือ? คนบ้าคนนี้มาหาท่านทำไม?” เขาตอบพวกเขาว่า “พวกท่านก็รู้จักชายคนนั้นและรู้ว่าเขาพูดแบบไหน”
11Then Jehu went forth to the servants of his lord: and they said to him: Are all things well? why came this mad man to thee? And he said to them: You know the man, and what he said.
12พวกเขาพูดว่า “ไม่จริง บอกพวกเรามาเดี๋ยวนี้” เยฮูจึงบอกว่า “เขาพูดกับข้าว่า ‘พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสดังนี้เราเจิมเจ้าให้เป็นกษัตริย์เหนืออิสราเอลแล้ว’”
12But they answered: It is false, but rather do thou tell us. And he said to them: Thus and thus did he speak to me: and he said: Thus saith the Lord: I have anointed thee king over Israel.
13แล้วพวกเขาก็รีบเอาเสื้อคลุมของตน ปูรองเขาไว้บนขั้นสูงสุดของบันได แล้วเป่าแตรประกาศว่า “เยฮูเป็นกษัตริย์แล้ว”
13Then they made haste and taking every man his garment laid it under his feet, after the manner of a judgment seat, and they sounded the trumpet, and said: Jehu is king.
14เยฮูบุตรเยโฮชาฟัทผู้เป็นบุตรนิมชีจึงคบคิดกบฏต่อโยรัม ขณะนั้นโยรัมกับชาวอิสราเอลทั้งหมดกำลังป้องกันราโมทกิเลอาดจากฮาซาเอลกษัตริย์แห่งซีเรีย
14So Jehu the son of Josaphat the son of Namsi conspired against Joram. Now Joram had besieged Ramoth Galaad, he and all Israel fighting with Hazael king of Syria:
15แต่กษัตริย์โยรัมได้กลับมาที่ยิสเรเอลเพื่อรักษาบาดแผลที่ชาวซีเรียทำให้เขาได้รับเมื่อเขารบกับฮาซาเอลกษัตริย์แห่งซีเรีย เยฮูพูดว่า “ถ้าพวกท่านเห็นชอบ ก็อย่าให้ใครหนีออกจากเมืองไปแจ้งข่าวที่ยิสเรเอล”
15And was returned to be healed in Jezrahel of his wounds, for the Syrians had wounded him, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria. And Jehu said: If it please you, let no mall go forth or flee out of the city, lest he go, and tell in Jezrahel.
16เยฮูจึงขึ้นรถศึกไปยิสเรเอล เพราะโยรัมพักรักษาตัวอยู่ที่นั่น และอาหัสยาห์กษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์ก็ลงมาเยี่ยมโยรัมด้วย
16And he got up, and went into Jezrahel: for Joram was sick there, and Ochozias king of Juda was come down to visit Joram.
17คนเฝ้ายามยืนอยู่บนหอคอยที่ยิสเรเอล เขาเห็นกองทหารของเยฮูกำลังมา จึงพูดว่า “ข้าเห็นกองทหารกำลังมา” โยรัมสั่งว่า “ให้คนขี่ม้าคนหนึ่งไปพบพวกเขา และถามว่า ‘มาอย่างสันติหรือ?’”
17The watchmen therefore, that stood upon the tower of Jezrahel, saw the troop of Jehu coming, and said: I see a troop. And Joram said: Take a chariot, and send to meet them, and let him that goeth say: Is all well?
18คนขี่ม้าจึงไปพบเยฮูและพูดว่า “กษัตริย์ตรัสถามว่า ‘มาอย่างสันติหรือ?’” เยฮูตอบว่า “เรื่องสันติเกี่ยวอะไรกับเจ้า? จงตามหลังข้ามา!” คนเฝ้ายามรายงานว่า “ผู้นำสารไปถึงพวกเขาแล้ว แต่ไม่กลับมา”
18So there went one in a chariot to meet him, and said: Thus saith the king: Are all things peaceable? And Jehu said: What hast thou to do with peace? go behind and follow me. And the watchman told, saying: The messenger came to them, but he returneth not.
19โยรัมจึงส่งคนขี่ม้าคนที่สองออกไป เขาไปถึงพวกเขาและพูดว่า “กษัตริย์ตรัสถามว่า ‘มาอย่างสันติหรือ?’” เยฮูตอบว่า “เรื่องสันติเกี่ยวอะไรกับเจ้า? จงตามหลังข้ามา!”
19And he sent a second chariot of horses: and he came to them, and said: Thus saith the king: Is there peace? And Jehu said: What hast thou to do with peace? pass, and follow me.
20คนเฝ้ายามรายงานว่า “เขาไปถึงพวกเขาแล้ว และไม่กลับมา ลักษณะการขับรถศึกเหมือนเยฮูบุตรนิมชี เพราะเขาขับอย่างบ้าระห่ำ”
20And the watchman told, saying: He came even to them, but returneth not: and the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Namsi, for he drives furiously.
21โยรัมสั่งว่า “เตรียมรถศึก!” พวกเขาจึงเตรียมรถศึกให้เขา แล้วโยรัมกษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอลกับอาหัสยาห์กษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์ก็ออกไปคนละคันเพื่อพบเยฮู พวกเขาพบเขาที่ที่ดินของนาโบทชาวยิสเรเอล
21And Joram said: Make ready the chariot. And they made ready his chariot, and Joram king of Israel, and Ochozias king of Juda went out, each in his chariot, and they went out to meet Jehu, and met him in the field of Naboth the Jezrahelite.
22เมื่อโยรัมเห็นเยฮู เขาถามว่า “เยฮูมาอย่างสันติหรือ?” เยฮูตอบว่า “จะมีสันติได้อย่างไร ตราบใดที่การนอกใจเยี่ยงหญิงแพศยาของเยเซเบลมารดาของเจ้าและเวทมนตร์คาถามากมายของนางยังมีอยู่?”
22And when Joram saw Jehu, he said: Is there peace, Jehu? And he answered: What peace? so long as the fornications of Jezabel thy mother, and her many sorceries are in their vigour.
23โยรัมหันรถศึกกลับหนี แล้วพูดกับอาหัสยาห์ว่า “อาหัสยาห์ นี่เป็นการทรยศ!”
23And Joram turned his hand, and fleeing, said to Ochozias: There is treachery, Ochozias.
24เยฮูดึงคันธนูสุดกำลัง แล้วยิงโยรัมตรงระหว่างแขนทั้งสอง ลูกธนูทะลุผ่านหัวใจของเขา แล้วเขาก็ทรุดลงในรถศึก
24But Jehu bent Iris bow with his hand, and shot Joram between the shoulders: and the arrow went out through his heart, and immediately he fell in his chariot.
25แล้วเยฮูพูดกับบิดคาร์ผู้บัญชาการของเขาว่า “ยกศพเขาขึ้นแล้วโยนลงในที่ดินของนาโบทชาวยิสเรเอล จำได้ไหมตอนที่เจ้ากับข้าไปด้วยกันตามหลังอาหับบิดาของเขา พระยาห์เวห์ทรงกล่าวถ้อยคำนี้เกี่ยวกับเขาว่า
25And Jehu said to Badacer his captain: Take him, and cast him into the field of Naboth the Jezrahelite: for I remember when I and thou sitting in a chariot followed Achab this man’s father, that the Lord laid this burden upon him, saying:
26‘เมื่อวานนี้เราเห็นโลหิตของนาโบทและโลหิตของบุตรของเขาอย่างแน่นอน’ พระยาห์เวห์ตรัส ‘และเราจะตอบแทนเจ้าในที่ดินผืนนี้’ พระยาห์เวห์ตรัส ดังนั้นตอนนี้จงเอาเขาไปโยนลงในที่ดินผืนนั้นตามพระดำรัสของพระยาห์เวห์”
26If I do not requite thee in this field, saith the Lord, for the blood of Naboth, and for the blood of his children, which I saw yesterday, saith the Lord. So now take him, and cast him into the field, according to the word of the Lord.
27เมื่ออาหัสยาห์กษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์เห็นเหตุการณ์นี้ เขาหนีไปทางบ้านสวน เยฮูไล่ตามเขา และสั่งว่า “โจมตีเขาบนรถศึกด้วย!” พวกเขาจึงโจมตีเขาตรงทางขึ้นกูร์ซึ่งอยู่ใกล้อิบเลอัม เขาหนีไปเมกิดโด และตายที่นั่น
27But Ochozias king of Juda seeing this, fled by the way of the garden house: and Jehu pursued him, and said: Strike him also in his chariot. And they struck him in the going up to Gaver, which is by Jeblaam: and he fled into Mageddo, and died there.
28ผู้รับใช้ของเขานำศพขึ้นรถศึกไปเยรูซาเล็ม และฝังเขาไว้ในที่ฝังศพของเขาร่วมกับบรรพบุรุษในนครดาวิด
28And his servants laid him upon his chariot, and carried him to Jerusalem: and they buried him in his sepulchre with his fathers in the city of David.
29อาหัสยาห์เริ่มครองราชย์เหนือยูดาห์ในปีที่สิบเอ็ดแห่งรัชกาลโยรัมบุตรอาหับ
29In the eleventh year of Joram the son of Achab, Ochozias reigned over Juda,
30เมื่อเยฮูมาถึงยิสเรเอล เยเซเบลได้ยินข่าว นางจึงแต่งขอบตา ประดับศีรษะและมองออกมาทางหน้าต่าง
30And Jehu came into Jezrahel. But Jezabel hearing of his coming in, painted her face with stibic stone, and adorned her head, and looked out of a window
31เมื่อเยฮูเข้ามาทางประตูเมือง นางพูดว่า “เจ้ามาอย่างสันติหรือ ซิมรีผู้ฆ่านายของตัวเอง?”
31At Jehu coming in at the gate, and said: Can there be peace for Zambri, that hath killed his master?
32เขาเงยหน้าขึ้นไปที่หน้าต่าง แล้วพูดว่า “ใครอยู่ฝ่ายข้า? ใคร?” ขันทีสองหรือสามคนชะโงกหน้าออกมามองเขา
32And Jehu lifted up his face to the window, and said: Who is this? And two or three eunuchs bowed down to him.
33เยฮูสั่งว่า “โยนนางลงมา!” พวกเขาจึงโยนนางลงมา เลือดของนางบางส่วนกระเด็นติดกำแพงและม้า แล้วเยฮูก็เหยียบย่ำนาง
33And he said to them: Throw her down headlong: and they threw her down, and the wall was sprinkled with her blood, and the hoofs of the horses trod upon her.
34เมื่อเยฮูเข้าไปข้างใน เขาก็กินและดื่ม แล้วพูดว่า “ไปดูแลหญิงต้องสาปคนนี้ และฝังนางเสีย เพราะนางเป็นธิดาของกษัตริย์”
34And when he was come in, to eat, and to drink, he said: Go, and see after that cursed woman, and bury her: because she is a king’s daughter.
35พวกเขาไปเพื่อฝังนาง แต่พบเหลือเพียงกะโหลกศีรษะ เท้า และฝ่ามือทั้งสองข้าง
35And when they went to bury her, they found nothing but the skull, and the feet, and the extremities of her hands.
36พวกเขาจึงกลับมาบอกเยฮู เขาพูดว่า “นี่คือพระดำรัสของพระยาห์เวห์ซึ่งพระองค์ตรัสผ่านเอลียาห์ชาวทิชบีผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ว่า ‘สุนัขจะกินเนื้อของเยเซเบลบนที่ดินที่ยิสเรเอล
36And coming back they told him. And Jehu said: It is the word of the Lord, which he spoke by his servant Elias the Thesbite, saying: In the field of Jezrahel the dogs shall eat the flesh of Jezabel,
37และศพของเยเซเบลจะเหมือนมูลสัตว์บนผิวดินในที่ดินของยิสเรเอล จนไม่มีใครพูดได้ว่า “นี่คือเยเซเบล”’”
37And the flesh of Jezabel shall be as dung upon the face of the earth in the field of Jezrahel, so that they who pass by shall say: Is this that same Jezabel?
