1先知 以利沙 叫了一個先知門徒來，吩咐他說：「你束上腰，手拿這瓶膏油往 基列 的 拉末 去。
1And Eliseus the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets, slid said to him: Gird up thy loins, and take this little bottle of oil in thy hand, and go to Ramoth Galaad.
2到了那裏，要尋找 寧示 的孫子、 約沙法 的兒子 耶戶 ，使他從同僚中起來，帶他進嚴密的屋子，
2And when thou art come thither, thou shalt see Jehu the son of Josaphat the son of Namsi: and going in thou shalt make him rise up from amongst his brethren, and carry him into an inner chamber.
3將瓶裏的膏油倒在他頭上，說：『耶和華如此說：我膏你作 以色列 王。』 說完了 ，就開門逃跑，不要遲延。」
3Then taking the little bottle of oil, thou shalt pour it on his head, and shalt say: Thus saith the Lord: I have anointed thee king over Israel. And thou shalt open the door and flee, and shalt not stay there.
4於是那少年先知往 基列 的 拉末 去了。
4So the young man, the servant of the prophet, went awry to Ramoth Galaad,
5到了那裏，看見眾軍長都坐着，就說：「將軍哪，我有話對你說。」 耶戶 說：「我們眾人裏，你要對哪一個說呢？」回答說：「將軍哪，我要對你說。」
5And went in thither: and behold the captains of the army were sitting: and he said: I have a word to thee, O prince. And Jehu said: Unto whom of us all? And he said: To thee, O prince.
6耶戶 就起來，進了屋子，少年人將膏油倒在他頭上，對他說：「耶和華－ 以色列 的上帝如此說：『我膏你作耶和華民 以色列 的王。
6And he arose, and went into the chamber: and he poured the oil upon his head, and said: Thus saith the Lord God of Israel: I have anointed thee king over Israel, the people of the Lord.
7你要擊殺你主人 亞哈 的全家，我好在 耶洗別 身上伸我僕人眾先知和耶和華一切僕人流血的冤。
7And thou shalt cut off the house of Achab thy master, and I will revenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the Lord at the hand of Jezabel.
8亞哈 全家必都滅亡，凡屬 亞哈 的男丁，無論是困住的、自由的，我必從 以色列 中剪除，
8And I will destroy all the house of Achab, and I will cut off from Achab him that pisseth against the well, and him that is shut up, and the meanest in Israel.
9使 亞哈 的家像 尼八 兒子 耶羅波安 的家，又像 亞希雅 兒子 巴沙 的家。
9And I will make the house of Achab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nabat, and like the house of Baasa the son of Ahias.
10耶洗別 必在 耶斯列 田裏被狗所吃，無人葬埋。』」 說完了 ，少年人就開門逃跑了。
10And the dogs shall eat Jezabel in the field of Jezrahel, and there shall be no one to bury her. And he opened the door and fled.
11耶戶 出來，回到他主人的臣僕那裏，有一人問他說：「平安嗎？這狂妄的人來見你有甚麼事呢？」回答說：「你們認得那人，也知道他說甚麼。」
11Then Jehu went forth to the servants of his lord: and they said to him: Are all things well? why came this mad man to thee? And he said to them: You know the man, and what he said.
12他們說：「這是假話，你據實地告訴我們。」回答說：「他如此如此對我說。他說：『耶和華如此說：我膏你作 以色列 王。』」
12But they answered: It is false, but rather do thou tell us. And he said to them: Thus and thus did he speak to me: and he said: Thus saith the Lord: I have anointed thee king over Israel.
13他們就急忙各將自己的衣服鋪在上層臺階，使 耶戶 坐在其上；他們吹角，說：「 耶戶 作王了！」
13Then they made haste and taking every man his garment laid it under his feet, after the manner of a judgment seat, and they sounded the trumpet, and said: Jehu is king.
14這樣， 寧示 的孫子、 約沙法 的兒子 耶戶 背叛 約蘭 。先是 約蘭 和 以色列 眾人因為 亞蘭 王 哈薛 的緣故，把守 基列 的 拉末 ；
14So Jehu the son of Josaphat the son of Namsi conspired against Joram. Now Joram had besieged Ramoth Galaad, he and all Israel fighting with Hazael king of Syria:
15但 約蘭 王回到 耶斯列 ，醫治與 亞蘭 王 哈薛 打仗所受的傷。 耶戶 說：「若合你們的意思，就不容人逃出城往 耶斯列 報信去。」
15And was returned to be healed in Jezrahel of his wounds, for the Syrians had wounded him, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria. And Jehu said: If it please you, let no mall go forth or flee out of the city, lest he go, and tell in Jezrahel.
16於是 耶戶 坐車往 耶斯列 去，因為 約蘭 病臥在那裏。 猶大 王 亞哈謝 已經下去看望他。
16And he got up, and went into Jezrahel: for Joram was sick there, and Ochozias king of Juda was come down to visit Joram.
17有一個守望的人站在 耶斯列 的樓上，看見 耶戶 帶着一群人來，就說：「我看見一群人。」 約蘭 說：「打發一個騎馬的去迎接他們，問說：平安不平安？」
17The watchmen therefore, that stood upon the tower of Jezrahel, saw the troop of Jehu coming, and said: I see a troop. And Joram said: Take a chariot, and send to meet them, and let him that goeth say: Is all well?
18騎馬的就去迎接 耶戶 ，說：「王問說，平安不平安？」耶戶說：「平安不平安與你何干？你轉在我後頭吧！」守望的人又說：「使者到了他們那裏，卻不回來。」
18So there went one in a chariot to meet him, and said: Thus saith the king: Are all things peaceable? And Jehu said: What hast thou to do with peace? go behind and follow me. And the watchman told, saying: The messenger came to them, but he returneth not.
19王又打發一個騎馬的去。這人到了他們那裏，說：「王問說，平安不平安？」 耶戶 說：「平安不平安與你何干？你轉在我後頭吧！」
19And he sent a second chariot of horses: and he came to them, and said: Thus saith the king: Is there peace? And Jehu said: What hast thou to do with peace? pass, and follow me.
20守望的人又說：「他到了他們那裏，也不回來；車趕得甚猛，像 寧示 的孫子 耶戶 的趕法。」
20And the watchman told, saying: He came even to them, but returneth not: and the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Namsi, for he drives furiously.
21約蘭 吩咐說：「套車！」人就給他套車。 以色列 王 約蘭 和 猶大 王 亞哈謝 各坐自己的車出去迎接 耶戶 ，在 耶斯列 人 拿伯 的田那裏遇見他。
21And Joram said: Make ready the chariot. And they made ready his chariot, and Joram king of Israel, and Ochozias king of Juda went out, each in his chariot, and they went out to meet Jehu, and met him in the field of Naboth the Jezrahelite.
22約蘭 見 耶戶 就說：「 耶戶 啊，平安嗎？」 耶戶 說：「你母親 耶洗別 的淫行邪術這樣多，焉能平安呢？」
22And when Joram saw Jehu, he said: Is there peace, Jehu? And he answered: What peace? so long as the fornications of Jezabel thy mother, and her many sorceries are in their vigour.
23約蘭 就轉車逃跑，對 亞哈謝 說：「 亞哈謝 啊，反了！」
23And Joram turned his hand, and fleeing, said to Ochozias: There is treachery, Ochozias.
24耶戶 開滿了弓，射中 約蘭 的脊背，箭從心窩穿出， 約蘭 就仆倒在車上。
24But Jehu bent Iris bow with his hand, and shot Joram between the shoulders: and the arrow went out through his heart, and immediately he fell in his chariot.
25耶戶 對他的軍長 畢甲 說：「你把他拋在 耶斯列 人 拿伯 的田間。你當追想，你我一同坐車跟隨他父 亞哈 的時候，耶和華對 亞哈 所說的預言，
25And Jehu said to Badacer his captain: Take him, and cast him into the field of Naboth the Jezrahelite: for I remember when I and thou sitting in a chariot followed Achab this man’s father, that the Lord laid this burden upon him, saying:
26說：『我昨日看見 拿伯 的血和他眾子的血，我必在這塊田上報應你。』這是耶和華說的，現在你要照着耶和華的話，把他拋在這田間。」
26If I do not requite thee in this field, saith the Lord, for the blood of Naboth, and for the blood of his children, which I saw yesterday, saith the Lord. So now take him, and cast him into the field, according to the word of the Lord.
27猶大 王 亞哈謝 見這光景，就從園亭之路逃跑。 耶戶 追趕他，說：「把這人也殺在車上。」到了靠近 以伯蓮 的 姑珥 坡上 擊傷了他 。他逃到 米吉多 ，就死在那裏。
27But Ochozias king of Juda seeing this, fled by the way of the garden house: and Jehu pursued him, and said: Strike him also in his chariot. And they struck him in the going up to Gaver, which is by Jeblaam: and he fled into Mageddo, and died there.
28他的臣僕用車將他的屍首送到 耶路撒冷 ，葬在 大衛城 他自己的墳墓裏，與他列祖同葬。
28And his servants laid him upon his chariot, and carried him to Jerusalem: and they buried him in his sepulchre with his fathers in the city of David.
29亞哈謝 登基作 猶大 王的時候，是在 亞哈 的兒子 約蘭 第十一年。
29In the eleventh year of Joram the son of Achab, Ochozias reigned over Juda,
30耶戶 到了 耶斯列 ； 耶洗別 聽見就擦粉、梳頭，從窗戶裏往外觀看。
30And Jehu came into Jezrahel. But Jezabel hearing of his coming in, painted her face with stibic stone, and adorned her head, and looked out of a window
31耶戶 進門的時候， 耶洗別 說：「殺主人的 心利 啊，平安嗎？」
31At Jehu coming in at the gate, and said: Can there be peace for Zambri, that hath killed his master?
32耶戶 抬頭向窗戶觀看，說：「誰順從我？」有兩三個太監從窗戶往外看他。
32And Jehu lifted up his face to the window, and said: Who is this? And two or three eunuchs bowed down to him.
33耶戶 說：「把她扔下來！」他們就把她扔下來。她的血濺在牆上和馬上；於是把她踐踏了。
33And he said to them: Throw her down headlong: and they threw her down, and the wall was sprinkled with her blood, and the hoofs of the horses trod upon her.
34耶戶 進去，吃了喝了，吩咐說：「你們把這被咒詛的婦人葬埋了，因為她是王的女兒。」
34And when he was come in, to eat, and to drink, he said: Go, and see after that cursed woman, and bury her: because she is a king’s daughter.
35他們就去葬埋她，只尋得她的頭骨和腳，並手掌。
35And when they went to bury her, they found nothing but the skull, and the feet, and the extremities of her hands.
36他們回去告訴 耶戶 ， 耶戶 說：「這正應驗耶和華藉他僕人 提斯比 人 以利亞 所說的話，說：『在 耶斯列 田間，狗必吃 耶洗別 的肉；
36And coming back they told him. And Jehu said: It is the word of the Lord, which he spoke by his servant Elias the Thesbite, saying: In the field of Jezrahel the dogs shall eat the flesh of Jezabel,
37耶洗別 的屍首必在 耶斯列 田間如同糞土，甚至人不能說這是 耶洗別 。』」
37And the flesh of Jezabel shall be as dung upon the face of the earth in the field of Jezrahel, so that they who pass by shall say: Is this that same Jezabel?
