Kadede Kap (Pohnpeian New Testament and Psalms)
Berean Standard Bible
1A LAO majani pokon o, ap kotida pon dol eu; a lao kaipokedi, japwilim a tounpadak kan ap kai don i.
1When Jesus saw the crowds, He went up on the mountain and sat down. His disciples came to Him,
2I ari kotin dauaja pajan jilan i kawewe on irail majani:
2and He began to teach them, saying:
3Meid pai, me jamama ni nen ir, pwe nairail wein nanlan.
3“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4Meid pai, me mauk, pwe re pan kamaitala.
4Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
5Meid pai, me opampap, pwe re pan jojoki jappa.
5Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
6Meid pai, me kin men mana o men nim me pun, pwe re pan medila.
6Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
7Meid pai, me kadek, pwe re pan diar kadek.
7Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
8Meid pai, me nan monion arail makelekel, pwe re pan ariri Kot.
8Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
9Meid pai, me kin tom pena, pwe re pan adaneki jeri en Kot.
9Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
10Meid pai, me kamekameki pun, pwe nairail wein nanlan.
10Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11Komail meid pai, ma irail lalaue o paki komail o palian komail ni arail lokaia jued o likam pweki nai.
11Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me.
12Komail injenemau o perenda kaualap; pweki katine pamail me lapalap nanlan. Pwe iduen irail paki jaukop oko, me mo ’mail.
12Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets before you.
13Jol pan jappa komail. A ma jol jara jan, da me a pan joleki? Nan a pan me mal kot, men lokidokila, o aramaj en tiak pajan.
13You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its savor, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.
14Marain pan jappa komail, Kanim eu, me mi pon dol eu, jota kak rirla.
14You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.
15Aramaj pil jota kin ijikeda lamp eu, ap ki on pan kajak, pwe pon deu a, o a kin kamaraini toun im karoj.
15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a basket. Instead, they set it on a stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.
16Iduen omail marain en janjal mon aramaj, pwe irail en udial omail wiawia man kan, ap kapikapina Jam omail, me kotiluit nanlan.
16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
17Eder kikion me I kodon, tiakedi kapun de jaukop akan. I jota kodon tiakedi, a pwen kapwaiada.
17Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have not come to abolish them, but to fulfill them.
18Pwe melel, I indai on komail, lao lan o jappa pan poula, jota iota eu de kijin muai en kapun eu pan lokidokila, lao karoj pan pwaida.
18For I tell you truly, until heaven and earth pass away, not a single jot, not a stroke of a pen, will disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.
19Ari, meamen me tiakedi eu kijin kujoned tikitik pukat, ap pil padaki on aramaj, ren tiakedi, nan a pan tikitik nan wein nanlan. A meamen, me oke o padaki on aramaj, ren oke, i me pan lapalap nan wein nanlan,
19So then, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do likewise will be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever practices and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20Pwe I indai on komail, ma omail pun jo man jan pun en jaunkawewe o Parijar, akan, komail jota pan kak pedelon on nan wein nanlan.
20For I tell you that unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
21Komail ronadar, mo a loki, on men kaua: Koe der kamela aramaj I A me pan kamela aramaj, pan panalan kadeik o.
21You have heard that it was said to the ancients, ‘Do not murder’ and ‘Anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’
22A I indai on komail, meamen makarada mal pan ri a ol, pan panalan kadeik. A me pan indan ria ol: Raka, pan panalan kapun. A me pan inda: Koe me pweipwei, pan lokidokila nan le en pweleko.
22But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, ‘Raca,’ will be subject to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be subject to the fire of hell.
23Ari, ma koe wa don pei jaraui om mairon, ap tamanda waja o, me ri om ol injenjued pa om.
23So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you,
24Pwilikidi maj om mairon impan pei jaraui, ap kola kadeke ri om ol, ap kodo kapwaiada om mairon.
24leave your gift there before the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.
25Madan materoki on me paliaan uk ni om ian i pon al o, pwe me palian on uk ender pnalan oni uk ren jaunkapun, a jaunkapun uk ren papa o, o koe pan lokidokila nan imaten.
25Reconcile quickly with your adversary, while you are still on the way to court. Otherwise, he may hand you over to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison.
26Melel I indai on uk, koe jota pan ko jan waja o, koe lao kapunala lua karoj.
26Truly I tell you, you will not get out until you have paid the last penny.
27Komail ronadar, me a lokido: Koe der kamal!
27You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’
28A I indai on komail, meamen ninar li amen, pwen norok, nan a kamal on i nan monion i.
28But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
29O ma pali maun en maj om kamakar uk, waikada jan o kaje jan uk, pwe a mau on uk, kijan war om en ola, jan war om pon en lokidokila nan pweleko.
29If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.
30O ma pali maun en pa om kamakar uk, waika jan o kaje jan uk, pwe a mau on uk, kijan war om en ola, jan war om pon en lokidokila nan pweleko.
30And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to depart into hell.
31A pil lokido: Meamen me pan kajela a paud, i en ki on i Kijin likau en kamueit.
31It has also been said, ‘Whoever divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.’
32A I indai on komail, meamen me pan kajela a paud, me jo nenek nan a kin kamal eki i; a meamen, me paudeki me lokido kilar, nan i me kamal.
32But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, brings adultery upon her. And he who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.
33Komail pil ronadar, me a loki on men kaua: Koe der kaula likam; a koe kapwaiada om kaula on Kaun o!
33Again, you have heard that it was said to the ancients, ‘Do not break your oath, but fulfill your vows to the Lord.’
34I indai on komail, der man kaula! Der kaukila nanlan, pwe mol en Kot;
34But I tell you not to swear at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne;
35Pil der jappa, pwe utipa; pil der Ierujalem, pweki kanim en Nanmarki lapalap.
35or by the earth, for it is His footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
36Koe pil der kaukila mon om, pwe koe jota kak on wiada pit en mona eu, en puetepuet de tontol.
36Nor should you swear by your head, for you cannot make a single hair white or black.
37Omail kajokajoi pena en: Ei ei; jo, jo; pwe me dauli mepukat, kin tapi jan ni me jued.
37Simply let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ Anything more comes from the evil one.
38Komail ronadar, me a lo kido: Por en maj en depukki por en maj; o ni pot en depukki ni pot.
38You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye and tooth for tooth.’
39A I indai on komail, komail der palian me jued. A meamen pikir uk ni pali maun en likin jap om, pil ki on i pali teio.
39But I tell you not to resist an evil person. If someone slaps you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also;
40O meamen, me men wa uk ala ni kapun, pwen adia jan om jakit, en pil ki on i om likau pup.
40if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well;
41O ma meamen nidinid kin uk, en ian i mail eu, koe en ian mail riau.
41and if someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles.
42Kijakijai on me kin nidinid re om, o koe der jaupei jaw me poekipoeki re om!
42Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.
43Komail ronadar, me a lokidor: Koe en pok on men imp om ap kailonki om imwintiti!
43You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor’ and ‘Hate your enemy.’
44A I indai on komail, pok on omail imwintiti kan. o kapakap kin irail me paki komail:
44But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
45Pwe komail en japwilim en Jam omail, me kotikot nanlan. Pwe a kin kapwareda japwilim a katipin pon me jued o me mau kan, o kotin kamoredi katau pon me pun o me japun kan.
45that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
46Pwe ma komail pok on, me kin pok on komail, da me pan katin pa ’mail? Jaunopwei jota kin wia due met?
46If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Do not even tax collectors do the same?
47O ma komail ranamau ri omail akan, da me komail jikiki jan me tei kan? Men liki kan jota kin wia due met?
47And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even Gentiles do the same?
48Komail ari en unjokela dueta Jam omail, me kotikot nanlan, a unjok.
48Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
