1The burden of the word of the LORD. In the land of Hadrach, and in Damascus shall be His resting-place; for the LORD'S is the eye of man and all the tribes of Israel.
1宣告。 主の言葉はハデラクの地に臨み、 ダマスコの上にとどまる。 人の目も、 イスラエルのすべての部族の目も、主に向けられているからだ。
2And Hamath also shall border thereon; Tyre and Zidon, for she is very wise.
2その境にあるハマトにも、 知恵に富むツロとシドンにも臨む。
3And Tyre did build herself a stronghold, and heaped up silver as the dust, and fine gold as the mire of the streets.
3ツロは自分のために要塞を築き、 銀をちりのように、 純金を通りの泥のように積み上げた。
4Behold, the Lord will impoverish her, and He will smite her power into the sea; and she shall be devoured with fire.
4見よ、主は彼女の所有を奪い、 その海の力を打たれる。 彼女は火に焼き尽くされる。
5Ashkelon shall see it, and fear, Gaza also, and shall be sore pained, and Ekron, for her expectation shall be ashamed; and the king shall perish from Gaza, and Ashkelon shall not be inhabited.
5アシュケロンはそれを見て恐れ、 ガザも見て激しく苦しむ。 エクロンも、その望みが裏切られるので苦しむ。 王はガザから滅び、 アシュケロンには住む者がいなくなる。
6And a bastard shall dwell in Ashdod, and I will cut off the pride of the Philistines.
6異国の民がアシュドドに住み、 私はペリシテ人の誇りを断ち滅ぼす。
7And I will take away his blood out of his mouth, and his detestable things from between his teeth, and he also shall be a remnant for our God; and he shall be as a chief in Judah, and Ekron as a Jebusite.
7私はその口から血を取り除き、 その歯の間から忌まわしいものを取り除く。 その者も、われわれの神のために残りの者となり、 ユダの氏族の長のようになり、 エクロンはエブス人のようになる。
8And I will encamp about My house against the army, that none pass through or return; and no oppressor shall pass through them any more; for now have I seen with Mine eyes.
8私は軍勢を防ぐため、私の家の周りに陣を敷き、 敵の軍勢が二度と行き来できないようにする。 虐げる者は、もう彼らの中を通らない。 今、私は自分の目で見ているからだ。
9Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion, shout, O daughter of Jerusalem; behold, thy king cometh unto thee, he is triumphant, and victorious, lowly, and riding upon an ass, even upon a colt the foal of an ass.
9シオンの娘よ、大いに喜べ。 エルサレムの娘よ、喜び叫べ。 見よ、あなたの王があなたのもとに来られる。 この方は義なる方で、救いを携え、 へりくだって、ろばに乗っている。 しかも、ろばの子である子ろばに乗っている。
10And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off, and he shall speak peace unto the nations; and his dominion shall be from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth.
10私はエフライムから戦車を、 エルサレムから馬を断ち滅ぼす。 戦いの弓も断ち滅ぼされる。 彼は諸国民に平和を語る。 その支配は海から海まで、 大河から地の果てまで及ぶ。
11As for thee also, because of the blood of thy covenant I send forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water.
11また、あなたについては、 あなたの契約の血のゆえに、 私は水のない穴から、あなたの捕らわれ人を解放した。
12Return to the stronghold, ye prisoners of hope; even to-day do I declare that I will render double unto thee.
12望みを持つ捕らわれ人たちよ、 要塞に帰れ。 今日も私は、あなたに二倍のものを返すと告げる。
13For I bend Judah for Me, I fill the bow with Ephraim; and I will stir up thy sons, O Zion, against thy sons, O Javan, and will make thee as the sword of a mighty man.
13私はユダを自分の弓として張り、 エフライムを矢として弓につがえた。 シオンよ、私はあなたの子らを奮い立たせ、 ギリシアよ、あなたの子らに立ち向かわせる。 私はあなたを勇士の剣のようにする。
14And the LORD shall be seen over them, and His arrow shall go forth as the lightning; and the Lord GOD will blow the horn, and will go with whirlwinds of the south.
14主は彼らの上に現れ、 その矢は稲妻のようにひらめく。 主なる神は角笛を吹き、 南からのつむじ風とともに進まれる。
15The LORD of hosts will defend them; and they shall devour, and shall tread down the sling-stones; and they shall drink, and make a noise as through wine; and they shall be filled like the basins, like the corners of the altar.
15万軍の主は彼らを守られる。 彼らは投石用の石で敵を滅ぼし、打ち負かす。 彼らはぶどう酒に酔ったように飲み、騒ぐ。 鉢のように満たされ、 祭壇の四隅のようになる。
16And the LORD their God shall save them in that day as the flock of His people; for they shall be as the stones of a crown, glittering over His land.
16その日、彼らの神、主は、 ご自分の民を群れのように救われる。 彼らは王冠の宝石のように、 主の地の上に高く掲げられる。
17For how great is their goodness, and how great is their beauty! Corn shall make the young men flourish, and new wine the maids.
17その恵みはなんと大きく、 その美しさはなんとすばらしいことか。 穀物は若者たちを栄えさせ、 新しいぶどう酒はおとめたちを栄えさせる。
