1Blow ye the horn in Zion, and sound an alarm in My holy mountain; let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is at hand;
1จงเป่าแตรในศิโยน ส่งเสียงเตือนภัยบนภูเขาศักดิ์สิทธิ์ของเรา! ให้ทุกคนในแผ่นดินสั่นสะท้าน เพราะวันของพระยาห์เวห์กำลังมา ใกล้เข้ามาแล้ว
2A day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, as blackness spread upon the mountains; a great people and a mighty, there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after them, even to the years of many generations.
2วันแห่งความมืดและความหม่นหมอง วันแห่งเมฆและความมืดทึบ ชนชาติใหญ่และแข็งแกร่งแผ่เข้ามา เหมือนแสงรุ่งอรุณที่แผ่คลุมภูเขา ไม่เคยมีเช่นนี้มาก่อน และจะไม่มีเช่นนี้อีกหลังจากพวกเขา แม้เวลาจะผ่านไปอีกหลายชั่วอายุคน
3A fire devoureth before them, and behind them a flame blazeth; the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing escapeth them.
3ไฟเผาผลาญอยู่เบื้องหน้าพวกเขา เปลวไฟลุกไหม้อยู่เบื้องหลัง แผ่นดินเบื้องหน้าเหมือนสวนเอเดน แต่เบื้องหลังกลายเป็นถิ่นทุรกันดารร้างเปล่า ไม่มีใครหนีรอดจากพวกเขาได้เลย
4The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so do they run.
4รูปร่างของพวกเขาเหมือนม้า วิ่งเหมือนทหารม้า
5Like the noise of chariots, on the tops of the mountains do they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a mighty people set in battle array.
5กระโดดไปด้วยเสียงเหมือนรถศึกบนยอดเขา เหมือนเสียงเปลวไฟเผาผลาญตอซัง เหมือนชนชาติที่แข็งแกร่งตั้งกระบวนรบ
6At their presence the peoples are in anguish; all faces have gathered blackness.
6เมื่อพวกเขาปรากฏ ชนชาติทั้งหลายก็ทุกข์ทรมาน ทุกใบหน้าซีดเผือด
7They run like mighty men, they climb the wall like men of war; and they move on every one in his ways, and they entangle not their paths.
7พวกเขาวิ่งเหมือนยอดนักรบ ปีนกำแพงเหมือนทหาร แต่ละคนเดินตามแนวของตน ไม่ออกนอกเส้นทาง
8Neither doth one thrust another, they march every one in his highway; and they break through the weapons, and suffer no harm.
8ไม่มีใครเบียดคนอื่น แต่ละคนเดินตามทางของตน ฝ่าแนวป้องกันเข้าไป โดยไม่แตกแถว
9They leap upon the city, they run upon the wall, they climb up into the houses; they enter in at the windows like a thief.
9พวกเขากรูเข้าหาเมือง วิ่งไปบนกำแพง ปีนขึ้นบ้านเรือน เข้าทางหน้าต่างเหมือนขโมย
10Before them the earth quaketh, the heavens tremble; the sun and the moon are become black, and the stars withdraw their shining.
10แผ่นดินสั่นไหวต่อหน้าพวกเขา ฟ้าสวรรค์สั่นสะเทือน ดวงอาทิตย์และดวงจันทร์มืดไป ดวงดาวหยุดส่องแสง
11And the LORD uttereth His voice before His army; for His camp is very great, for he is mighty that executeth His word; for great is the day of the LORD and very terrible; and who can abide it?
11พระยาห์เวห์เปล่งเสียงกึกก้องเบื้องหน้ากองทัพของพระองค์ เพราะกองกำลังของพระองค์ยิ่งใหญ่เหลือเกิน ผู้ทำตามคำสั่งของพระองค์แข็งแกร่ง วันของพระยาห์เวห์ยิ่งใหญ่และน่าสะพรึงกลัวยิ่งนัก ใครจะทนไหว?
12Yet even now, saith the LORD, turn ye unto Me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with lamentation;
12พระยาห์เวห์กล่าวว่า “แม้ในเวลานี้ จงกลับมาหาเราด้วยใจทั้งหมด ด้วยการอดอาหาร ร้องไห้ และไว้ทุกข์”
13And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God; for He is gracious and compassionate, long-suffering, and abundant in mercy, and repenteth Him of the evil.
13จงฉีกใจ ไม่ใช่ฉีกเสื้อผ้า แล้วกลับมาหาพระยาห์เวห์ พระเจ้าของพวกคุณ เพราะพระองค์เปี่ยมด้วยความกรุณาและเมตตา ไม่โกรธง่าย มีความรักมั่นคงล้นเหลือ และเปลี่ยนใจไม่ส่งภัยพิบัติมา
14Who knoweth whether He will not turn and repent, and leave a blessing behind Him, even a meal-offering and a drink-offering unto the LORD your God?
14ใครจะรู้? พระองค์อาจหันกลับและเปลี่ยนใจ แล้วทิ้งพรไว้เบื้องหลัง เป็นเครื่องบูชาจากธัญพืชและเครื่องดื่มที่ถวายบูชาสำหรับพระยาห์เวห์ พระเจ้าของพวกคุณ
15Blow the horn in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly;
15จงเป่าแตรในศิโยน! กำหนดการอดอาหารอันศักดิ์สิทธิ์ เรียกชุมนุมอย่างเคร่งขรึม
16Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts; let the bridegroom go forth from his chamber, and the bride out of her pavilion.
16รวบรวมประชาชน ทำให้การชุมนุมศักดิ์สิทธิ์ เรียกผู้อาวุโสมารวมกัน รวบรวมเด็ก ๆ รวมทั้งทารกที่ยังกินนมแม่ ให้เจ้าบ่าวออกจากห้องของตน และเจ้าสาวออกจากห้องของเธอ
17Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say: 'Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not Thy heritage to reproach, that the nations should make them a byword: wherefore should they say among the peoples: Where is their God?'
17ให้ปุโรหิต ผู้รับใช้พระยาห์เวห์ ร้องไห้ระหว่างเฉลียงกับแท่นบูชา และกล่าวว่า “พระยาห์เวห์ โปรดไว้ชีวิตประชาชนของพระองค์ อย่าให้ประชาชนผู้เป็นมรดกของพระองค์ต้องอับอาย อย่าให้ชนชาติทั้งหลายมาปกครองพวกเขา เหตุใดชนชาติทั้งหลายจึงจะพูดว่า ‘พระเจ้าของคนเหล่านี้อยู่ที่ไหน?’”
18Then was the LORD jealous for His land, and had pity on His people.
18แล้วพระยาห์เวห์ก็หวงแหนแผ่นดินของพระองค์ และสงสารประชาชนของพระองค์
19And the LORD answered and said unto His people: 'Behold, I will send you corn, and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith; and I will no more make you a reproach among the nations;
19พระยาห์เวห์ตอบประชาชนของพระองค์ว่า “จงใส่ใจ เราจะส่งธัญพืช เหล้าองุ่นใหม่ และน้ำมันมาให้พวกคุณ พวกคุณจะได้กินจนอิ่มหนำ เราจะไม่ทำให้พวกคุณเป็นที่เยาะเย้ยในหมู่ชนชาติทั้งหลายอีก
20But I will remove far off from you the northern one, and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the eastern sea, and his hinder part toward the western sea; that his foulness may come up, and his ill savour may come up, because he hath done great things.'
20แต่เราจะขับกองทัพทางเหนือไปให้ไกลจากพวกคุณ ไล่เข้าไปในแผ่นดินแห้งแล้งร้างเปล่า ให้แนวหน้าเข้าไปในทะเลตะวันออก และแนวหลังเข้าไปในทะเลตะวันตก กลิ่นเหม็นของกองทัพนั้นจะลอยขึ้น กลิ่นเน่าเหม็นจะโชยขึ้นมา” แท้จริง เขาได้ทำสิ่งยิ่งใหญ่แล้ว
21Fear not, O land, be glad and rejoice; for the LORD hath done great things.
21แผ่นดินเอ๋ย อย่ากลัว จงชื่นบานและยินดี เพราะพระยาห์เวห์ทำสิ่งยิ่งใหญ่แล้ว
22Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field; for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth its fruit, the fig-tree and the vine do yield their strength.
22สัตว์ในทุ่งทั้งหลาย อย่ากลัว เพราะทุ่งหญ้าในถิ่นทุรกันดารงอกขึ้นแล้ว ต้นไม้ออกผล ต้นมะเดื่อและเถาองุ่นให้ผลเต็มกำลัง
23Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God; for He giveth you the former rain in just measure, and He causeth to come down for you the rain, the former rain and the latter rain, at the first.
23“ชาวศิโยน จงชื่นบาน และยินดีในพระยาห์เวห์ พระเจ้าของพวกคุณ เพราะพระองค์ให้ฝนต้นฤดูอย่างพอเหมาะ และทำให้ฝนตกลงมาเพื่อพวกคุณ ทั้งฝนต้นฤดูและฝนปลายฤดูเหมือนแต่ก่อน
24And the floors shall be full of corn, and the vats shall overflow with wine and oil.
24ลานนวดข้าวจะเต็มไปด้วยข้าวสาลี เหล้าองุ่นใหม่และน้ำมันจะล้นถัง
25And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the canker-worm, and the caterpiller, and the palmer-worm, My great army which I sent among you.
25เราจะชดเชยปีที่ฝูงตั๊กแตนกินไปให้พวกคุณ ทั้งตั๊กแตนตัวใหญ่ ตั๊กแตน และหนอนผีเสื้อ กองทัพใหญ่ของเราที่เราส่งมาท่ามกลางพวกคุณ
26And ye shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and shall praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you; and My people shall never be ashamed.
26พวกคุณจะมีอาหารมากมาย กินจนอิ่มหนำ และจะสรรเสริญชื่อพระยาห์เวห์ พระเจ้าของพวกคุณ ผู้ทำสิ่งอัศจรรย์เพื่อพวกคุณ ประชาชนของเราจะไม่ผิดหวังอีกเลย
27And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and there is none else; and My people shall never be ashamed.
27พวกคุณจะรู้ว่าเราอยู่ท่ามกลางอิสราเอล เราคือพระยาห์เวห์ พระเจ้าของพวกคุณ ไม่มีผู้ใดอื่น ประชาชนของเราจะไม่ผิดหวังอีกเลย
28(3-1) And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions;
28“หลังจากนั้น เราจะเทพระวิญญาณของเราลงบนมนุษย์ทุกคน ลูกชายและลูกสาวของพวกคุณจะกล่าวคำพยากรณ์ ชายชราของพวกคุณจะฝัน ชายหนุ่มของพวกคุณจะเห็นนิมิต
29(3-2) And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out My spirit.
29ในวันเหล่านั้น แม้แต่คนรับใช้ชายและหญิง เราก็จะเทพระวิญญาณของเราลงบนพวกเขา
30(3-3) And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.
30เราจะสำแดงสิ่งอัศจรรย์ในฟ้าสวรรค์และบนแผ่นดิน คือเลือด ไฟ และเสาควัน
31(3-4) The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the LORD come.
31ดวงอาทิตย์จะกลายเป็นความมืด ดวงจันทร์จะกลายเป็นเลือด ก่อนวันอันยิ่งใหญ่และน่าสะพรึงกลัวของพระยาห์เวห์จะมาถึง
32(3-5) And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered; for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be those that escape, as the LORD hath said, and among the remnant those whom the LORD shall call.
32ทุกคนที่ร้องเรียกชื่อพระยาห์เวห์จะรอด เพราะจะมีผู้หนีรอดอยู่บนภูเขาศิโยนและในเยรูซาเล็ม ตามที่พระยาห์เวห์กล่าวไว้ และในหมู่คนที่เหลือรอด จะมีผู้ที่พระยาห์เวห์เรียก
