1Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye for water, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
1「さあ、渇いている者はみな、水のところに来なさい。 金のない者も来て、買って食べなさい。 さあ、金も代価も払わずに、ぶどう酒と乳を買いなさい。
2Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your gain for that which satisfieth not? Hearken diligently unto Me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
2なぜ、パンでないもののために金を払い、 満たすことのできないもののために働くのか。 わたしによく聞き従い、良いものを食べよ。 豊かなもので、あなたがたの心を喜ばせよ。
3Incline your ear, and come unto Me; hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
3耳を傾けて、わたしのもとに来なさい。 聞け。そうすれば、あなたがたは生きる。 わたしはあなたがたと永遠の契約を結び、ダビデへの確かな慈しみを与える。
4Behold, I have given him for a witness to the peoples, a prince and commander to the peoples.
4見よ、わたしは彼を諸国の民への証人、 諸国の民の指導者、司令官として立てた。
5Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and a nation that knew not thee shall run unto thee; because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel, for He hath glorified thee.
5見よ、あなたは自分の知らない国を呼び、 あなたを知らなかった国が、あなたのもとへ走って来る。 あなたの神、主のゆえに、 イスラエルの聖なる方のゆえに。 主があなたに栄光を与えられたからだ。」
6Seek ye the LORD while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near;
6主を見いだすことのできる間に、主を求めよ。 主が近くにおられる間に、呼び求めよ。
7Let the wicked forsake his way, and the man of iniquity his thoughts; and let him return unto the LORD, and He will have compassion upon him, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.
7悪人は自分の道を捨て、 不義を行う者は自分の思いを捨てよ。 主に立ち返れ。そうすれば、主は彼をあわれんでくださる。 われわれの神に立ち返れ。神は豊かに赦してくださるからだ。
8For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the LORD.
8「わたしの思いは、あなたがたの思いとは異なり、 あなたがたの道は、わたしの道とは異なる」と主は言われる。
9For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.
9「天が地より高いように、 わたしの道はあなたがたの道より高く、 わたしの思いはあなたがたの思いより高い。
10For as the rain cometh down and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, except it water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, and give seed to the sower and bread to the eater;
10雨や雪が天から降り、 そこへ戻らず、地を潤し、 芽を出させ、実らせ、 種をまく者には種を、食べる者にはパンを与えるように、
11So shall My word be that goeth forth out of My mouth: it shall not return unto Me void, except it accomplish that which I please, and make the thing whereto I sent it prosper.
11わたしの口から出るわたしの言葉も、そのようである。 むなしくわたしのもとに戻ることはなく、 わたしの望むことを成し遂げ、 わたしが送り出した目的を果たす。
12For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace; the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
12あなたがたは喜びをもって出て行き、 平和のうちに導き出される。 山々と丘々は、あなたがたの前で喜び歌い、 野のすべての木々は手を打ち鳴らす。
13Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle; and it shall be to the LORD for a memorial, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
13いばらの代わりに糸杉が生え、 茨の代わりにミルトスが生える。 それは主の名声となり、 断ち切られることのない永遠のしるしとなる。」
