1And when Rachel saw that she bore Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister; and she said unto Jacob: 'Give me children, or else I die.'
1拉结 见自己不给 雅各 生子，就嫉妒她姊姊，对 雅各 说：「你给我孩子，不然我就死了。」
2And Jacob's anger was kindled against Rachel; and he said: 'Am I in God's stead, who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb?'
2雅各 向 拉结 生气，说：「叫你不生育的是 神，我岂能代替他 作主 呢？」
3And she said: 'Behold my maid Bilhah, go in unto her; that she may bear upon my knees, and I also may be builded up through her.'
3拉结 说：「有我的使女 辟拉 在这里，你可以与她同房，使她生子在我膝下，我便因她也得孩子。」
4And she gave him Bilhah her handmaid to wife; and Jacob went in unto her.
4拉结 就把她的使女 辟拉 给丈夫为妾； 雅各 便与她同房，
5And Bilhah conceived, and bore Jacob a son.
5辟拉 就怀孕，给 雅各 生了一个儿子。
6And Rachel said: 'God hath judged me, and hath also heard my voice, and hath given me a son.' Therefore called she his name Dan.
6拉结 说：「 神伸了我的冤，也听了我的声音，赐我一个儿子」，因此给他起名叫 但 。
7And Bilhah Rachel's handmaid conceived again, and bore Jacob a second son.
7拉结 的使女 辟拉 又怀孕，给 雅各 生了第二个儿子。
8And Rachel said: 'With mighty wrestlings have I wrestled with my sister, and have prevailed.' And she called his name Naphtali.
8拉结 说：「我与我姊姊大大相争，并且得胜」，于是给他起名叫 拿弗他利 。
9When Leah saw that she had left off bearing, she took Zilpah her handmaid, and gave her to Jacob to wife.
9利亚 见自己停了生育，就把使女 悉帕 给 雅各 为妾。
10And Zilpah Leah's handmaid bore Jacob a son.
10利亚 的使女 悉帕 给 雅各 生了一个儿子。
11And Leah said: 'Fortune is come!' And she called his name Gad.
11利亚 说：「万幸！」于是给他起名叫 迦得 。
12And Zilpah Leah's handmaid bore Jacob a second son.
12利亚 的使女 悉帕 又给 雅各 生了第二个儿子。
13And Leah said: 'Happy am I! for the daughters will call me happy.' And she called his name Asher.
13利亚 说：「我有福啊，众女子都要称我是有福的」，于是给他起名叫 亚设 。
14And Reuben went in the days of wheat harvest, and found mandrakes in the field, and brought them unto his mother Leah. Then Rachel said to Leah: 'Give me, I pray thee, of thy son's mandrakes.'
14割麦子的时候， 吕便 往田里去，寻见风茄，拿来给他母亲 利亚 。 拉结 对 利亚 说：「请你把你儿子的风茄给我些。」
15And she said unto her: 'Is it a small matter that thou hast taken away my husband? and wouldest thou take away my son's mandrakes also?' And Rachel said: 'Therefore he shall lie with thee to-night for thy son's mandrakes.'
15利亚 说：「你夺了我的丈夫还算小事吗？你又要夺我儿子的风茄吗？」 拉结 说：「为你儿子的风茄，今夜他可以与你同寝。」
16And Jacob came from the field in the evening, and Leah went out to meet him, and said: 'Thou must come in unto me; for I have surely hired thee with my son's mandrakes.' And he lay with her that night.
16到了晚上， 雅各 从田里回来， 利亚 出来迎接他，说：「你要与我同寝，因为我实在用我儿子的风茄把你雇下了。」那一夜， 雅各 就与她同寝。
17And God hearkened unto Leah, and she conceived, and bore Jacob a fifth son.
17神应允了 利亚 ，她就怀孕，给 雅各 生了第五个儿子。
18And Leah said: 'God hath given me my hire, because I gave my handmaid to my husband. And she called his name Issachar.
18利亚 说：「 神给了我价值，因为我把使女给了我丈夫」，于是给他起名叫 以萨迦 。
19And Leah conceived again, and bore a sixth son to Jacob.
19利亚 又怀孕，给 雅各 生了第六个儿子。
20And Leah said: 'God hath endowed me with a good dowry; now will my husband dwell with me, because I have borne him six sons.' And she called his name Zebulun.
20利亚 说：「 神赐我厚赏；我丈夫必与我同住，因我给他生了六个儿子」，于是给他起名 西布伦 。
21And afterwards she bore a daughter, and called her name Dinah.
21后来又生了一个女儿，给她起名叫 底拿 。
22And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb.
22神顾念 拉结 ，应允了她，使她能生育。
23And she conceived, and bore a son, and said: 'God hath taken away my reproach.'
23拉结 怀孕生子，说：「 神除去了我的羞耻」，
24And she called his name Joseph, saying: 'The LORD add to me another son.'
24就给他起名叫 约瑟 ，意思说：「愿耶和华再增添我一个儿子。」
25And it came to pass, when Rachel had borne Joseph, that Jacob said unto Laban: 'Send me away, that I may go unto mine own place, and to my country.
25拉结 生 约瑟 之后， 雅各 对 拉班 说：「请打发我走，叫我回到我本乡本土去。
26Give me my wives and my children for whom I have served thee, and let me go; for thou knowest my service wherewith I have served thee.'
26请你把我服事你所得的妻子和儿女给我，让我走；我怎样服事你，你都知道。」
27And Laban said unto him: 'If now I have found favour in thine eyes — I have observed the signs, and the LORD hath blessed me for thy sake.'
27拉班 对他说：「我若在你眼前蒙恩，请你 仍与我同住 ， 因为 我已算定，耶和华赐福与我是为你的缘故」；
28And he said: 'Appoint me thy wages, and I will give it.'
28又说：「请你定你的工价，我就给你。」
29And he said unto him: 'Thou knowest how I have served thee, and how thy cattle have fared with me.
29雅各 对他说：「我怎样服事你，你的牲畜在我手里怎样，是你知道的。
30For it was little which thou hadst before I came, and it hath increased abundantly; and the LORD hath blessed thee whithersoever I turned. And now when shall I provide for mine own house also?'
30我未来之先，你所有的很少，现今却发大众多，耶和华随我的脚步赐福与你。如今，我什么时候才为自己兴家立业呢？」
31And he said: 'What shall I give thee?' And Jacob said: 'Thou shalt not give me aught; if thou wilt do this thing for me, I will again feed thy flock and keep it.
31拉班 说：「我当给你什么呢？」 雅各 说：「什么你也不必给我，只有一件事，你若应承，我便仍旧牧放你的羊群。
32I will pass through all thy flock to-day, removing from thence every speckled and spotted one, and every dark one among the sheep, and the spotted and speckled among the goats; and of such shall be my hire.
32今天我要走遍你的羊群，把绵羊中凡有点的、有斑的，和黑色的，并山羊中凡有斑的、有点的，都挑出来；将来 这一等的 就算我的工价。
33So shall my righteousness witness against me hereafter, when thou shalt come to look over my hire that is before thee: every one that is not speckled and spotted among the goats, and dark among the sheep, that if found with me shall be counted stolen.'
33以后你来查看我的工价，凡在我手里的山羊不是有点有斑的，绵羊不是黑色的，那就算是我偷的；这样便可证出我的公义来。」
34And Laban said: 'Behold, would it might be according to thy word.'
34拉班 说：「好啊！我情愿照着你的话行。」
35And he removed that day the he-goats that were streaked and spotted, and all the she-goats that were speckled and spotted, every one that had white in it, and all the dark ones among the sheep, and gave them into the hand of his sons.
35当日， 拉班 把有纹的、有斑的公山羊，有点的、有斑的、有杂白纹的母山羊，并黑色的绵羊，都挑出来，交在他儿子们的手下，
36And he set three days' journey betwixt himself and Jacob. And Jacob fed the rest of Laban's flocks.
36又使自己和 雅各 相离三天的路程。 雅各 就牧养 拉班 其余的羊。
37And Jacob took him rods of fresh poplar, and of the almond and of the plane-tree; and peeled white streaks in them, making the white appear which was in the rods.
37雅各 拿杨树、杏树、枫树的嫩枝，将皮剥成白纹，使枝子露出白的来，
38And he set the rods which he had peeled over against the flocks in the gutters in the watering-troughs where the flocks came to drink; and they conceived when they came to drink.
38将剥了皮的枝子，对着羊群，插在饮羊的水沟里和水槽里，羊来喝的时候，牝牡配合。
39And the flocks conceived at the sight of the rods, and the flocks brought forth streaked, speckled, and spotted.
39羊对着枝子配合，就生下有纹的、有点的、有斑的来。
40And Jacob separated the lambs — he also set the faces of the flocks toward the streaked and all the dark in the flock of Laban — and put his own droves apart, and put them not unto Laban's flock.
40雅各 把羊羔分出来，使 拉班 的羊与这有纹和黑色的羊相对，把自己的羊另放一处，不叫他和 拉班 的羊混杂。
41And it came to pass, whensoever the stronger of the flock did conceive, that Jacob laid the rods before the eyes of the flock in the gutters, that they might conceive among the rods;
41到羊群肥壮配合的时候， 雅各 就把枝子插在水沟里，使羊对着枝子配合。
42but when the flock were feeble, he put them not in; so the feebler were Laban's, and the stronger Jacob's.
42只是到羊瘦弱配合的时候就不插枝子。这样，瘦弱的就归 拉班 ，肥壮的就归 雅各 。
43And the man increased exceedingly, and had large flocks, and maid-servants and men-servants, and camels and asses.
43于是 雅各 极其发大，得了许多的羊群、仆婢、骆驼，和驴。
