1And He said unto me: 'Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak with thee.'
1その方は私に言われた。「人の子よ、自分の足で立て。わたしはあなたに語る。」
2And spirit entered into me when He spoke unto me, and set me upon my feet; and I heard Him that spoke unto me.
2その方が私に語られた時、霊が私の中に入り、私を立たせた。私は自分に語る方の声を聞いた。
3And He said unto me: 'Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to rebellious nations, that have rebelled against Me; they and their fathers have transgressed against Me, even unto this very day;
3その方は私に言われた。「人の子よ、わたしはあなたをイスラエルの子ら、すなわち、わたしに反逆した反逆の国民に遣わす。彼らもその父祖たちも、今日に至るまでわたしに背いてきた。
4and the children are brazen-faced and stiff-hearted, I do send thee unto them; and thou shalt say unto them: Thus saith the Lord GOD.
4その子らは厚かましく、心がかたくなである。わたしはあなたを彼らに遣わす。あなたは彼らに、『主 なる神はこう言われる』と告げよ。
5And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear — for they are a rebellious house — yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them.
5彼らが聞いても、聞くことを拒んでも――彼らは反逆の家だからだ――彼らの間に預言者がいたことを、彼らは知るようになる。
6And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though defiers and despisers be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions; be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, for they are a rebellious house.
6人の子よ、あなたは彼らを恐れてはならない。彼らの言葉も恐れてはならない。たとえ、いばらとあざみがあなたの周りにあり、さそりの中に住んでいても、彼らの言葉を恐れず、その顔におびえてはならない。彼らは反逆の家だからだ。
7And thou shalt speak My words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear; for they are most rebellious.
7彼らが聞いても、聞くことを拒んでも、あなたはわたしの言葉を彼らに語れ。彼らは反逆の者だからだ。
8And thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee: be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house; open thy mouth, and eat that which I give thee.'
8しかし、人の子よ、わたしがあなたに語ることを聞け。この反逆の家のように反逆してはならない。口を開け、わたしが与えるものを食べよ。」
9And when I looked, behold, a hand was put forth unto me; and, lo, a roll of a book was therein;
9私が見ると、見よ、一つの手が私の方へ伸ばされており、その手には巻物があった。
10and He spread it before me, and it was written within and without; and there was written therein lamentations, and moaning, and woe.
10その方が私の前にそれを広げると、表にも裏にも文字が書かれていた。そこには嘆きと悲しみと災いが記されていた。
