1And thou, son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say: Thus saith the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal;
1「人の子よ、ゴグに対して預言し、言え。『主なる神はこう言われる。「ロシュ、メシェク、トバルの君主ゴグよ、見よ、わたしはあなたに立ち向かう。
2and I will turn thee about and lead thee on, and will cause thee to come up from the uttermost parts of the north; and I will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel;
2わたしはあなたの向きを変えさせ、導き、北の果てから攻め上らせ、イスラエルの山々へ連れて来る。
3and I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand.
3わたしはあなたの左手から弓を打ち落とし、右手から矢を落とす。
4Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the peoples that are with thee; I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort and to the beasts of the field, to be devoured.
4あなたはイスラエルの山々に倒れる。あなたとその全軍、あなたと共にいる民も倒れる。わたしはあなたを、あらゆる種類の猛禽と野の動物に与え、食い尽くさせる。
5Thou shalt fall upon the open field; for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.
5あなたは野原に倒れる。わたしが語った」と主なる神は言われる。
6And I will send a fire on Magog, and on them that dwell safely in the isles; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
6「わたしはマゴグと、島々に安心して住む者たちの上に火を送る。そのとき、彼らは、わたしが主であることを知る。
7And My holy name will I make known in the midst of My people Israel; neither will I suffer My holy name to be profaned any more; and the nations shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.
7わたしは、わたしの民イスラエルの中で、わたしの聖なる名を知らせる。わたしの聖なる名を二度と汚させない。そのとき、諸国は、わたしが主であり、イスラエルの中にいる聖なる者であることを知る。
8Behold, it cometh, and it shall be done, saith the Lord GOD; This is the day whereof I have spoken.
8見よ、それは来て、必ず実現する」と主なる神は言われる。「これが、わたしの語った日である。
9And they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall make fires of the weapons and use them as fuel, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the hand-staves, and the spears, and they shall make fires of them seven years;
9イスラエルの町々に住む者たちは出て行き、武器を燃料にして火をたく。小盾と大盾、弓と矢、棍棒と槍を燃やし、それらで七年間、火をたく。
10so that they shall take no wood out of the field, neither cut down any out of the forests, for they shall make fires of the weapons; and they shall spoil those that spoiled them, and rob those that robbed them, saith the Lord GOD.
10彼らは野から薪を取らず、森から木を切り出すこともない。武器で火をたくからである。彼らは自分たちを略奪した者たちを略奪し、自分たちから奪った者たちから奪う」と主なる神は言われる。
11And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto Gog a place fit for burial in Israel, the valley of them that pass through on the east of the sea; and it shall stop them that pass through; and there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude; and they shall call it the valley of Hamon-gog.
11「その日、わたしはイスラエルの中に、ゴグの墓地となる場所を与える。それは海の東にある、旅人が通る谷である。そこは旅人の通行を妨げる。人々はゴグとその大勢の民をそこに葬り、その場所を『ハモン・ゴグの谷』と呼ぶ。
12And seven months shall the house of Israel be burying them, that they may cleanse the land.
12イスラエルの家は、地を清めるために七か月かけて彼らを葬る。
13Yea, all the people of the land shall bury them, and it shall be to them a renown; in the day that I shall be glorified, saith the Lord GOD.
13この地の民は皆、彼らを葬る。それは、わたしが栄光を現す日に、彼らにとって名誉となる」と主なる神は言われる。
14And they shall set apart men of continual employment, that shall pass through the land to bury with them that pass through those that remain upon the face of the land, to cleanse it; after the end of seven months shall they search.
14「彼らは、この地を絶えず巡回する者たちを任命する。その者たちは、地を清めるため、地の表に残っている者を葬る者たちと共に巡回する。七か月が終わると、彼らは捜索を始める。
15And when they that pass through shall pass through the land, and any seeth a man's bone, then shall he set up a sign by it, till the buriers have buried it in the valley of Hamon-gog.
15この地を行き巡る者たちは巡回し、だれかが人の骨を見つけると、そのそばに目印を立てる。埋葬する者たちがそれをハモン・ゴグの谷に葬るまで、そのままにする。
16And Hamonah shall also be the name of a city. Thus shall they cleanse the land.
16町の名もハモナと呼ばれる。こうして、彼らは地を清める。」』
17And thou, son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD: Speak unto the birds of every sort, and to every beast of the field: Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to My feast that I do prepare for you, even a great feast, upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh and drink blood.
17人の子よ、主なる神はこう言われる。『あらゆる種類の鳥と、野のすべての動物に言え。「集まり、来い。わたしがあなたがたのためにささげるいけにえ、イスラエルの山々での大いなるいけにえの所へ、四方から集まれ。そこで肉を食べ、血を飲め。
18The flesh of the mighty shall ye eat, and the blood of the princes of the earth shall ye drink; rams, lambs, and goats, bullocks, fatlings of Bashan are they all of them.
18あなたがたは勇士たちの肉を食べ、地の君主たちの血を飲む。それは雄羊、子羊、雄やぎ、雄牛であり、すべてバシャンの肥えた家畜である。
19And ye shall eat fat till ye be full, and drink blood till ye be drunken, of My feast which I have prepared for you.
19あなたがたは、わたしがあなたがたのためにささげたいけにえから、満腹になるまで脂肪を食べ、酔うまで血を飲む。
20And ye shall be filled at My table with horses and horsemen, with mighty men, and with all men of war, saith the Lord GOD.
20あなたがたは、わたしの食卓で、馬、戦車兵、勇士、すべての戦士を食べて満腹になる」と主なる神は言われる。』
21And I will set My glory among the nations, and all the nations shall see My judgment that I have executed, and My hand that I have laid upon them.
21わたしは諸国の間に自分の栄光を置く。すべての国々は、わたしが行った裁きと、彼らの上に置いたわたしの手を見る。
22So the house of Israel shall know that I am the LORD their God, from that day and forward.
22その日から後、イスラエルの家は、わたしが主、彼らの神であることを知る。
23And the nations shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity, because they broke faith with Me, and I hid My face from them; so I gave them into the hand of their adversaries, and they fell all of them by the sword.
23諸国は、イスラエルの家が自分たちの不義のために捕囚となったことを知る。彼らがわたしに背いたので、わたしは彼らから顔を隠し、敵の手に渡した。それで、彼らは皆、剣に倒れた。
24According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions did I unto them; and I hid My face from them.
24わたしは彼らの汚れと背きに従って彼らを扱い、彼らから顔を隠した。
25Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD: Now will I bring back the captivity of Jacob, and have compassion upon the whole house of Israel; and I will be jealous for My holy name.
25それゆえ、主なる神はこう言われる。『今、わたしはヤコブを捕囚から連れ戻し、イスラエルの全家をあわれむ。わたしはわたしの聖なる名のために熱情を燃やす。
26And they shall bear their shame, and all their breach of faith which they have committed against Me, when they shall dwell safely in their land, and none shall make them afraid;
26彼らが自分たちの地に安心して住み、だれも彼らを恐れさせないとき、彼らは自分たちの恥と、わたしに背いて犯したすべての背きを忘れる。
27when I have brought them back from the peoples, and gathered them out of their enemies' lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations.
27わたしが彼らを諸民族の中から連れ戻し、敵の国々から集め、多くの国々の目の前で、彼らのうちに自らが聖なる者であることを示すとき、
28And they shall know that I am the LORD their God, in that I caused them to go into captivity among the nations, and have gathered them unto their own land; and I will leave none of them any more there;
28彼らは、わたしが主、彼らの神であることを知る。わたしが彼らを諸国の中へ捕囚として送った後、自分たちの地に集め、そこに捕らわれた者を一人も残さないからである。
29neither will I hide My face any more from them; for I have poured out My spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.'
29わたしは二度と彼らから顔を隠さない。わたしの霊をイスラエルの家の上に注いだからである』と主なる神は言われる。」
