1Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:
1І надійшло до мене слово Господнє:
2'Now, thou, son of man, wilt thou judge, wilt thou judge the bloody city? then cause her to know all her abominations.
2Ти ж, сину чоловічий, чи хочеш судити, судити город кріваво провинний? Оце ж виткни їм всї гидоти їх.
3And thou shalt say: Thus saith the Lord GOD: O city that sheddest blood in the midst of thee, that thy time may come, and that makest idols unto thyself to defile thee;
3І промов: Так говорить Господь Бог: О городе, що проливав єси кров серед себе, щоб навести на себе годину свою, і робив собі ідоли, щоб опоганити себе!
4thou art become guilty in thy blood that thou hast shed, and art defiled in thine idols which thou hast made; and thou hast caused thy days to draw near, and art come even unto thy years; therefore have I made thee a reproach unto the nations, and a mocking to all the countries!
4Через ту кров, що проливав єси, ти набрався гріха, а через ідоли, що наробив собі, опоганився; і наближив єси днї твої, і дойшов єси до години твоєї. Тим то я подам тебе на посьміх усїм народам, на поругу всїм землям.
5Those that are near, and those that are far from thee, shall mock thee, thou defiled of name and full of tumult.
5Близькі й далекі будуть насьміхатись із тебе, що опоганив єси імя твоє, а прославив себе бутою.
6Behold, the princes of Israel, every one according to his might, have been in thee to shed blood.
6Ось, старшини Ізраїлські в тобі, кожен по силам своїм, проливали кров.
7In thee have they made light of father and mother; in the midst of thee have they dealt by oppression with the stranger; in thee have they wronged the fatherless and the widow.
7Батька і матїр зневажають в тобі, чуженицю кривдять посеред тебе, безбатенька й вдовицю пригнїтають у тобі.
8Thou hast despised My holy things, and hast profaned My sabbaths.
8Мої сьвятинї ти маловажиш, а мої суботи нарушуєш.
9In thee have been talebearers to shed blood; and in thee they have eaten upon the mountains; in the midst of thee they have committed lewdness.
9Люде, що обвинувачують на проливаннє крові, жиють у тобі; по горах твоїх їдять мясиво (приношене ідолам у жертву), посеред тебе коять ледарство.
10In thee have they uncovered their fathers' nakedness; in thee have they humbled her that was unclean in her impurity.
10Сором батьків розкривають у тобі, нечисту в кровотечі насилують у тебе.
11And each hath committed abomination with his neighbour's wife; and each hath lewdly defiled his daughter-in-law; and each in thee hath humbled his sister, his father's daughter.
11Той чинить гидке з жінкою ближнього свого, той опоганює невістку свою, а той обезчесчує сестру свою, дочку батька свого.
12In thee have they taken gifts to shed blood; thou hast taken interest and increase, and thou hast greedily gained of thy neighbours by oppression, and hast forgotten Me, saith the Lord GOD.
12У тобі беруть підкуп і проливають кров; ти береш лихву й прирости й грабуєш насильно користь собі з ближнього твого, мене ж забув єси, говорить Господь Бог.
13Behold, therefore, I have smitten My hand at thy dishonest gain which thou hast made, and at thy blood which hath been in the midst of thee.
13Я аж сплеснув руками з гнїву на захланність твою, що така явна в тобі, та на кріваві провини, що дїються в тебе.
14Can thy heart endure, or can thy hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with thee? I the LORD have spoken it, and will do it.
14Чи видержить же серце твоє, чи будуть досить кріпкі руки (сили) в тебе тодї, як я почну мою роботу проти тебе? Я, Господь, сказав се й справджу.
15And I will scatter thee among the nations, and disperse thee through the countries; and I will consume thy filthiness out of thee.
15Бо розсїю тебе проміж народи, й розвію тебе по чужих землях, і зроблю конець мерзотам твоїм посеред тебе.
16And thou shalt be profaned in thyself, in the sight of the nations; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.'
16І зробиш сам себе гидким в очах народів, і зрозумієш, що я — Господь.
17And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:
17І надійшло до мене слово Господнє:
18'Son of man, the house of Israel is become dross unto Me; all of them are brass and tin and iron and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are the dross of silver.
18Сину чоловічий! дом Ізраїля зробився в очах у мене жужелицею; всї вони — мідь, цина, залїзо й олово в печі; жужелицею з срібла поробились.
19Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD: Because ye are all become dross, therefore, behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem.
19Тим же то ось як говорить Господь Бог: За те, що ви всї поробились жужелицею, позбіраю вас в Ерусалим.
20As they gather silver and brass and iron and lead and tin into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to melt it; so will I gather you in Mine anger and in My fury, and I will cast you in, and melt you.
20Так само, як у піч кладуть срібло й мідь і залїзо й олово й цину вкупі, щоб роздувати на них огонь і їх розтопити, так і я позбіраю вас у гнїву мойму й у досадї моїй та й розплавлю вас.
21Yea, I will gather you, and blow upon you with the fire of My wrath, and ye shall be melted in the midst thereof.
21Я позбіраю вас і подую на вас огнем досади моєї та й розтоплю посеред його.
22As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof; and ye shall know that I the LORD have poured out My fury upon you.'
22Як плавлять срібло в плавильній печі, так і ви розплавитесь посеред його, й зрозумієте, що я, Господь, вилив на вас досаду мою.
23And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:
23І надійшло слово Господнє до мене, таке:
24'Son of man, say unto her: Thou art a land that is not cleansed, nor rained upon in the day of indignation.
24Сину чоловічий! промов до него: Ти — земля нечиста, тим і не скроплена дощем в годину гнїву.
25There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls, they take treasure and precious things, they have made her widows many in the midst thereof.
25Пророки в їй змовились; як леви рикають, роздирають здобичу; пожерають душі, забирають майно й дорогі речі, намножують у йому вдовиць.
26Her priests have done violence to My law, and have profaned My holy things; they have put no difference between the holy and the common, neither have they taught difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from My sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.
26Сьвященники його ломлять мій закон й поганять сьвятинї мої; не відрізняють вони сьвятого від несьвятого, й не розбірають, що нечисте, а що чисте, а від субот моїх одвернули очі свої, і я в погордї в них.
27Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey: to shed blood, and to destroy souls, so as to get dishonest gain.
27Князї його, наче хижі вовки, пориваючі здобичу свою, проливають кров, затрачують душі, щоб тілько придбати собі наживу.
28And her prophets have daubed for them with whited plaster, seeing falsehood, and divining lies unto them, saying: Thus saith the Lord GOD, when the LORD hath not spoken.
28Пророки ж його замазують усе глиною, вбачають пусте та віщують свої видумки, говорячи: Так говорить Господь Бог, а Господь не говорив того.
29The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have wronged the poor and needy, and have oppressed the stranger unlawfully.
29Прості люде пригнїтають одно одного, ограбують і тиснуть злиденного, а приходня придавлюють без усякого права.
30And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the breach before Me for the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found none.
30І шукав я між ними такого, щоб поставив себе стїною, і став проти мене в проломинї за сесю землю, щоб я не погубив її, та не знайшов.
31Therefore have I poured out Mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of My wrath; their own way have I brought upon their heads, saith the Lord GOD.'
31Оце ж вилию на них досаду мою, огнем лютостї моєї вигублю їх, поступки їх поверну на голову їм, говорить Господь Бог.
