1In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon his bed; then he wrote the dream and told the sum of the matters.
1ในปีแรกของรัชกาลเบลชัสซาร์ กษัตริย์แห่งบาบิโลน ขณะนอนอยู่ ดาเนียลฝันและเห็นนิมิต เขาจึงเขียนความฝันไว้ และเล่าใจความของเรื่อง
2Daniel spoke and said: I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven broke forth upon the great sea.
2ดาเนียลกล่าวว่า “ในนิมิตตอนกลางคืน ข้าพเจ้าเห็นลมจากท้องฟ้าทั้งสี่ทิศพัดกระหน่ำทะเลใหญ่
3And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.
3สัตว์ใหญ่สี่ตัวขึ้นมาจากทะเล แต่ละตัวไม่เหมือนกัน
4The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings; I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked off, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon two feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it.
4“ตัวแรกเหมือนสิงโต มีปีกนกอินทรี ข้าพเจ้ามองดูจนปีกของมันถูกถอน มันถูกยกขึ้นจากพื้นดิน ให้ยืนสองขาเหมือนมนุษย์ และได้รับจิตใจอย่างมนุษย์
5And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth; and it was said thus unto it: 'Arise, devour much flesh.'
5“ข้าพเจ้าเห็นสัตว์อีกตัวหนึ่ง เป็นตัวที่สอง เหมือนหมี มันยกตัวขึ้นข้างหนึ่ง มีซี่โครงสามซี่อยู่ในปากระหว่างฟัน มีผู้บอกมันว่า ‘ลุกขึ้น! กินเนื้อให้มาก!’
6After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the sides of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.
6“ต่อมา ข้าพเจ้าเห็นสัตว์อีกตัวหนึ่งเหมือนเสือดาว มีปีกนกสี่ปีกอยู่บนหลัง มันมีหัวสี่หัว และได้รับอำนาจปกครอง
7After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth; it devoured and broke in pieces, and stamped the residue with its feet; and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.
7“ต่อมา ในนิมิตตอนกลางคืน ข้าพเจ้าเห็นสัตว์ตัวที่สี่ น่าสะพรึงกลัว ทรงพลัง และแข็งแกร่งอย่างยิ่ง มีฟันเหล็กขนาดใหญ่ มันกินและกัดจนแตกเป็นชิ้นๆ แล้วใช้เท้าเหยียบสิ่งที่เหลือ มันต่างจากสัตว์ทุกตัวก่อนหน้า และมีเขาสิบเขา
8I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another horn, a little one, before which three of the first horns were plucked up by the roots; and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking great things.
8“ขณะที่ข้าพเจ้าพิจารณาเขาเหล่านั้น มีเขาเล็กอีกเขาหนึ่งงอกขึ้นมาท่ามกลางพวกมัน เขาสามเขาที่มีอยู่ก่อนถูกถอนออกทั้งรากต่อหน้าเขาใหม่นี้ เขานี้มีตาเหมือนตาของมนุษย์ และมีปากพูดจาโอหัง
9I beheld till thrones were placed, and one that was ancient of days did sit: his raiment was as white snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool; his throne was fiery flames, and the wheels thereof burning fire.
9“ข้าพเจ้ามองดูจนบัลลังก์ทั้งหลายถูกตั้งขึ้น และองค์ผู้ดำรงมาแต่กาลก่อนนั่งลง เสื้อผ้าของพระองค์ขาวเหมือนหิมะ ผมเหมือนขนแกะสะอาด บัลลังก์ของพระองค์เป็นเปลวไฟ ล้อบัลลังก์เป็นไฟลุกโชน
10A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him; thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him; the judgment was set, and the books were opened.
10ธารไฟไหลออกมาจากเบื้องหน้าพระองค์ ผู้คนหลายพันต่อหลายพันรับใช้พระองค์ ผู้คนหมื่นคูณหมื่นยืนต่อหน้าพระองค์ ศาลเริ่มพิจารณา บันทึกทั้งหลายเปิดออก
11I beheld at that time because of the voice of the great words which the horn spoke, I beheld even till the beast was slain, and its body destroyed, and it was given to be burned with fire.
11“ข้าพเจ้าเฝ้ามองเพราะได้ยินคำพูดโอหังของเขานั้น จนสัตว์ตัวนั้นถูกฆ่า ร่างของมันถูกทำลายและโยนให้ไฟเผา
12And as for the rest of the beasts, their dominion was taken away; yet their lives were prolonged for a season and a time.
12ส่วนสัตว์ตัวอื่นๆ ถูกพรากอำนาจปกครองไป แต่ยังมีชีวิตต่อไปได้อีกชั่วระยะหนึ่ง
13I saw in the night visions, and, behold, there came with the clouds of heaven one like unto a son of man, and he came even to the Ancient of days, and he was brought near before Him.
13“ในนิมิตตอนกลางคืน ข้าพเจ้าเห็นผู้หนึ่งมีรูปร่างเหมือนมนุษย์ มาพร้อมกับเมฆในท้องฟ้า ผู้นั้นมาถึงองค์ผู้ดำรงมาแต่กาลก่อน และมีผู้นำเขาเข้าไปใกล้ต่อหน้าพระองค์
14And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all the peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
14เขาได้รับอำนาจปกครอง ความรุ่งโรจน์ และอาณาจักร เพื่อให้คนทุกชนชาติ ทุกเชื้อชาติ ทุกภาษา รับใช้เขา อำนาจปกครองของเขาดำรงอยู่ตลอดไป ไม่มีวันสิ้นสุด และอาณาจักรของเขาไม่มีวันถูกทำลาย
15As for me Daniel, my spirit was pained in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head affrighted me.
15“ส่วนข้าพเจ้า ดาเนียล เป็นทุกข์ใจอยู่ภายใน นิมิตที่เห็นทำให้ว้าวุ่นใจ
16I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth concerning all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things:
16ข้าพเจ้าเข้าไปใกล้ผู้หนึ่งที่ยืนอยู่ และถามความจริงเกี่ยวกับเรื่องทั้งหมดนี้ “ผู้นั้นบอกและอธิบายความหมายให้ข้าพเจ้ารู้ว่า
17'These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, that shall arise out of the earth.
17‘สัตว์ใหญ่ทั้งสี่ตัวนี้ คือกษัตริย์สี่องค์ที่จะเกิดขึ้นจากแผ่นดิน
18But the saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.'
18แต่บรรดาผู้เป็นขององค์ผู้สูงสุดจะได้รับอาณาจักร และครอบครองอาณาจักรตลอดไป ตลอดชั่วนิรันดร์’
19Then I desired to know the truth concerning the fourth beast, which was diverse from all of them, exceeding terrible, whose teeth were of iron, and its nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with its feet;
19“ข้าพเจ้าอยากรู้ความจริงเกี่ยวกับสัตว์ตัวที่สี่ ซึ่งต่างจากตัวอื่นๆ น่ากลัวอย่างยิ่ง มีฟันเหล็กและกรงเล็บทองสัมฤทธิ์ มันกินและกัดจนแตกเป็นชิ้นๆ แล้วใช้เท้าเหยียบสิ่งที่เหลือ
20and concerning the ten horns that were on its head, and the other horn which came up, and before which three fell; even that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spoke great things, whose appearance was greater than that of its fellows.
20รวมทั้งเรื่องเขาสิบเขาบนหัวของมัน และเขาอีกเขาหนึ่งที่งอกขึ้นมา โดยมีสามเขาล้มลงต่อหน้าเขานั้น เขานี้มีตา มีปากพูดจาโอหัง และดูแข็งแรงใหญ่โตกว่าเขาอื่นๆ
21I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;
21ข้าพเจ้าเห็นเขานี้ทำสงครามกับบรรดาผู้เป็นของพระเจ้า และเอาชนะพวกเขา
22until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given for the saints of the Most High; and the time came, and the saints possessed the kingdom.
22จนองค์ผู้ดำรงมาแต่กาลก่อนมา และมีคำพิพากษาให้แก่บรรดาผู้เป็นขององค์ผู้สูงสุด เมื่อถึงเวลา พวกเขาก็ได้ครอบครองอาณาจักร
23Thus he said: 'The fourth beast shall be a fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all the kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
23“ผู้นั้นกล่าวว่า ‘สัตว์ตัวที่สี่คืออาณาจักรที่สี่บนแผ่นดิน ซึ่งต่างจากอาณาจักรอื่นๆ มันจะกินทั้งโลก เหยียบย่ำและทุบให้แตกเป็นชิ้นๆ
24And as for the ten horns, out of this kingdom shall ten kings arise; and another shall arise after them; and he shall be diverse from the former, and he shall put down three kings.
24ส่วนเขาสิบเขา คือกษัตริย์สิบองค์ที่จะเกิดขึ้นจากอาณาจักรนี้ จะมีกษัตริย์อีกองค์หนึ่งเกิดขึ้นภายหลัง ต่างจากองค์ก่อนๆ และจะโค่นกษัตริย์สามองค์
25And he shall speak words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High; and he shall think to change the seasons and the law; and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and half a time.
25เขาจะพูดต่อต้านองค์ผู้สูงสุด กดขี่บรรดาผู้เป็นขององค์ผู้สูงสุดจนหมดเรี่ยวแรง และคิดจะเปลี่ยนกาลเวลาและกฎหมาย คนเหล่านั้นจะตกอยู่ในอำนาจของเขา เป็นเวลาหนึ่งวาระ หลายวาระ และครึ่งวาระ
26But the judgment shall sit, and his dominions shall be taken away, to be consumed and to be destroy unto the end.
26“‘แต่ศาลจะเริ่มพิจารณา แล้วอำนาจปกครองของเขาจะถูกพรากไป ถูกล้างผลาญและทำลายจนสิ้น
27And the kingdom and the dominion, and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High; their kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey them.'
27ราชอาณาจักร อำนาจปกครอง และความยิ่งใหญ่ของอาณาจักรทั้งหลายใต้ท้องฟ้า จะมอบให้ประชาชนผู้เป็นขององค์ผู้สูงสุด อาณาจักรของพระองค์ดำรงอยู่ตลอดไป ผู้มีอำนาจปกครองทั้งปวงจะรับใช้และเชื่อฟังพระองค์’
28Here is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my thoughts much affrighted me, and my countenance was changed in me; but I kept the matter in my heart.
28“เรื่องจบลงเพียงเท่านี้ ส่วนข้าพเจ้า ดาเนียล ความคิดทำให้ว้าวุ่นใจอย่างยิ่งจนสีหน้าเปลี่ยนไป แต่ข้าพเจ้าเก็บเรื่องนี้ไว้ในใจ”
