1このすべてのことが終わると、そこにいた全イスラエルはユダの町々へ出て行き、石の柱を打ち砕き、アシェラ像を切り倒し、ユダとベニヤミンの全土、またエフライムとマナセに至るまで、高き所と祭壇を完全に打ち壊した。その後、イスラエルのすべての子らは、それぞれ自分の所有地、自分たちの町々に帰って行った。
1Now when all this was finished, all Israel that were present went out to the cities of Judah, and broke in pieces the pillars, and hewed down the Asherim, and broke down the high places and the altars out of all Judah and Benjamin, in Ephraim also and Manasseh, until they had destroyed them all. Then all the children of Israel returned, every man to his possession, into their own cities.
2ヒゼキヤは、祭司たちとレビ人を組ごとに分け、それぞれの奉仕を割り当てた。それは全焼のささげ物と和解のいけにえのためであり、主の宿営の門々で仕え、感謝をささげ、賛美するためであった。
2And Hezekiah appointed the courses of the priest and the Levites after their courses, every man according to his service, both the priests and the Levites, for burnt-offerings and for peace-offerings, to minister, and to give thanks, and to praise in the gates of the camp of the LORD.
3彼はまた、主の律法に記されているとおりに、全焼のささげ物、すなわち朝と夕の全焼のささげ物、および安息日、新月、定めの祭りのための全焼のささげ物として、王の財産から王の取り分を定めた。
3He appointed also the king's portion of his substance for the burnt-offerings, to wit, for the morning and evening burnt-offerings, and the burnt-offerings for the sabbaths, and for the new moons, and for the appointed seasons, as it is written in the Law of the LORD.
4さらに彼は、エルサレムに住む民に、祭司たちとレビ人が主の律法に専念できるように、彼らの取り分を与えるように命じた。
4Moreover he commanded the people that dwelt in Jerusalem to give the portion of the priests and the Levites, that they might give themselves to the law of the LORD.
5この命令が伝わると、イスラエルの子らは穀物、新しいぶどう酒、油、蜂蜜、および畑のすべての収穫の初物を豊かにささげ、またすべての物の十分の一を豊かに持って来た。
5And as soon as the commandment came abroad, the children of Israel gave in abundance the first-fruits of corn, wine, and oil, and honey, and of all the increase of the field; and the tithe of all things brought they in abundantly.
6ユダの町々に住んでいたイスラエルの子らとユダの人々もまた、牛や羊の十分の一、および彼らの神、主に聖別されたささげ物の十分の一を持って来て、それを幾つもの山に積み上げた。
6And the children of Israel and Judah, that dwelt in the cities of Judah, they also brought in the tithe of oxen and sheep, and the tithe of hallowed things which were hallowed unto the LORD their God, and laid them by heaps.
7第三の月に彼らは積み上げ始め、第七の月にそれを終えた。
7In the third month they began to lay the foundation of the heaps, and finished them in the seventh month.
8ヒゼキヤと君たちが来てそれらの山を見ると、彼らは主をほめたたえ、その民イスラエルを祝福した。
8And when Hezekiah and the princes came and saw the heaps, they blessed the LORD, and His people Israel.
9そしてヒゼキヤが祭司たちとレビ人にそれらの山について尋ねると、
9Then Hezekiah questioned the priests and the Levites concerning the heaps.
10ツァドクの家の大祭司アザルヤは彼に答えた。「民がささげ物を主の家に持って来始めてから、わたしたちは食べて満足し、大量の残りができました。主がその民を祝福されたからです。残ったものがこの大きな蓄えです。」
10And Azariah the chief priest, of the house of Zadok, answered him and said: 'Since the people began to bring the offerings into the house of the LORD, we have eaten and had enough, and have left plenty; for the LORD hath blessed His people; and that which is left is this great store.'
11そこでヒゼキヤは主の家に部屋を用意するように命じ、彼らはそれを準備した。
11Then Hezekiah commanded to prepare chambers in the house of the LORD; and they prepared them.
12彼らはささげ物、十分の一、および聖別された物を忠実に運び入れた。レビ人コナンヤが彼らの上の監督者であり、その兄弟シムイが二番目であった。
12And they brought in the offerings and the tithes and the hallowed things faithfully; and over them Conaniah the Levite was ruler, and Shimei his brother was second.
13エヒエル、アザズヤ、ナハテ、アサエル、エリモテ、ヨザバド、エリエル、イスマクヤ、マハテ、ベナヤは、ヒゼキヤ王および神の家の支配者アザルヤの任命により、コナンヤとその兄弟シムイの手の下にある監督者であった。
13And Jehiel, and Azaziah, and Nahath, and Asahel, and Jerimoth, and Jozabad, and Eliel, and Ismachiah, and Mahath, and Benaiah, were overseers under the hand of Conaniah and Shimei his brother, by the appointment of Hezekiah the king, and Azariah the ruler of the house of God.
14東の門の門衛であったレビ人イムナの子コレは、神への自発のささげ物を管理し、主へのささげ物と最も聖なるものを分配した。
14And Kore the son of Imnah the Levite, the porter at the east gate, was over the freewill-offerings of God, to distribute the offerings of the LORD, and the most holy things.
15彼の下にはエデン、ミニヤミン、エシュア、シェマヤ、アマルヤ、シェカニヤがおり、祭司たちの町々で忠実に務め、組ごとに、身分の高い者にも低い者にも等しく分配した。
15And under him were Eden, and Miniamin, and Jeshua, and Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shecaniah, in the cities of the priests, in their office of trust, to give to their brethren by courses, as well to the great as to the small;
16これは、三歳以上の男子として系図に記された者のほかに、その組に従って日々の務めが求めるままに、彼らの職務における奉仕のために主の家に入るすべての者に対するものであった。
16beside them that were reckoned by genealogy of males, from three years old and upward, even every one that entered into the house of the LORD, for his daily portion, for their service in their charges according to their courses;
17祭司たちについては彼らの父祖の家ごとに系図に記された者たち、またレビ人については二十歳以上の者が、その組による彼らの職務において系図に記された。
17and them that were reckoned by genealogy of the priests by their fathers' houses, and the Levites from twenty years old and upward, in their charges by their courses;
18これはまた、全会衆を通して、彼らの幼い子供たち、妻たち、息子たち、娘たちとして系図に記されたすべての者に対するものであった。彼らは信頼される職務において自らをきよめて聖別していたからである。
18even to give to them that were reckoned by genealogy of all their little ones, their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, through all the congregation; for in their office of trust they administered the sacred gifts;
19また、彼らの町々の牧草地の野にいたアロンの子らである祭司たちについても、それぞれの町に名前を指定された者たちがいて、祭司たちのうちのすべての男子、およびレビ人のうちの系図に記されたすべての者に割り当てを与えた。
19also for the sons of Aaron the priests, that were in the fields of the open land about their cities, in every city, there were men that were mentioned by name, to give portions to all the males among the priests, and to all that were reckoned by genealogy among the Levites.
20ヒゼキヤは全ユダにわたってこのように行い、彼の神、主の御前で、良いこと、正しいこと、そして忠実なことを行った。
20And thus did Hezekiah throughout all Judah; and he wrought that which was good and right and faithful before the LORD his God.
21彼は神の家の奉仕にも、律法と命令を守ることにも、神を求めることにも、心を尽くして取り組み、栄えた。
21And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.
