1What advantage then hath the Jew, or what is the profit of circumcision?
1Kia do estas la supereco de la Judoj? aŭ kia estas la utilo de cirkumcido?
2Much every way. First indeed, because the words of God were committed to them.
2Multa en ĉiu rilato: unue, ke al ili estis konfiditaj la orakoloj de Dio.
3For what if some of them have not believed? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? God forbid.
3Ĉu do estas grave, se kelkaj ne fidis? ĉu ilia senfideco vantigos la fidelecon de Dio?
4But God is true; and every man a liar, as it is written, That thou mayest be justified in thy words, and mayest overcome when thou art judged.
4Nepre ne! Dio montriĝu vera, sed ĉiu homo mensoganto, kiel estas skribite: Ke Vi estu justa en Via vorto Kaj pura en Via juĝo.
5But if our injustice commend the justice of God, what shall we say? Is God unjust, who executeth wrath?
5Sed se nia maljusteco rekomendas la justecon de Dio, kion ni diros? Ĉu maljusta estas Dio, kiu alportas koleron? (Mi parolas kiel homo.)
6(I speak according to man.) God forbid: otherwise how shall God judge this world?
6Nepre ne! ĉar kiel Dio juĝus la mondon?
7For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie, unto his glory, why am I also yet judged as a sinner?
7Ĉar se la vero de Dio per mia mensogo abundis al Lia gloro, kial mi estas ankoraŭ juĝata, kiel pekinto?
8And not rather (as we are slandered, and as some affirm that we say) let us do evil, that there may come good? whose damnation is just.
8kaj kial ne (kiel ni estas kalumniataj, kaj kelkaj asertas, ke ni diras): Ni faru malbonon, por ke venu bono? ilia kondamno estas justa.
9What then? Do we excel them? No, not so. For we have charged both Jews, and Greeks, that they are all under sin.
9Kio do? ĉu ni nin senkulpigas? Tute ne: ĉar ni jam akuzis egale Judojn kaj Grekojn, ke ĉiuj estas sub peko;
10As it is written: There is not any man just.
10kiel estas skribite: Ne ekzistas justulo, ne eĉ unu;
11There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
11Ne ekzistas prudentulo, Ne ekzistas iu, kiu serĉas Dion;
12All have turned out of the way; they are become unprofitable together: there is none that doth good, there is not so much as one.
12Ĉiuj devojiĝis, ĉiuj senutiliĝis; Ekzistas neniu, kiu faras bonon, ne eĉ unu;
13Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have dealt deceitfully. The venom of asps is under their lips.
13Malfermita tombo estas ilia gorĝo; Per sia lango ili hipokritis; Veneno de vipuro estas sub iliaj lipoj;
14Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:
14Ilia buŝo estas plena de malbenado kaj malico;
15Their feet swift to shed blood:
15Iliaj piedoj rapidas, por verŝi sangon;
16Destruction and misery in their ways:
16Ruinigo kaj pereigo estas sur iliaj vojoj;
17And the way of peace they have not known:
17Kaj vojon de paco ili ne konas;
18There is no fear of God before their eyes.
18Antaŭ iliaj okuloj ne ekzistas timo antaŭ Dio.
19Now we know, that what things soever the law speaketh, it speaketh to them that are in the law; that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may be made subject to God.
19Sed ni scias, ke ĉion ajn, kion la leĝo diras, ĝi parolas al tiuj, kiuj estas sub la leĝo; ke ĉiu buŝo fermiĝu, kaj ke la tuta mondo submetiĝu sub la juĝon de Dio;
20Because by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified before him. For by the law is the knowledge of sin.
20ĉar per la faroj de la leĝo neniu karno praviĝos antaŭ Li; ĉar per la leĝo venas konscio pri peko.
21But now without the law the justice of God is made manifest, being witnessed by the law and the prophets.
21Sed nun, ekster la leĝo, justeco de Dio montriĝis, atestata per la leĝo kaj la profetoj;
22Even the justice of God, by faith of Jesus Christ, unto all and upon all them that believe in him: for there is no distinction:
22nome, la justeco de Dio, per fido al Jesuo Kristo, por ĉiuj kredantoj, ĉar ne ekzistas diferencigo;
23For all have sinned, and do need the glory of God.
23ĉar ĉiuj pekis kaj maltrafis la gloron de Dio;
24Being justified freely by his grace, through the redemption, that is in Christ Jesus,
24pravigite donace de Lia graco, per la elaĉeto, kiu estas en Kristo Jesuo;
25Whom God hath proposed to be a propitiation, through faith in his blood, to the shewing of his justice, for the remission of former sins,
25kiun Dio antaŭdifinis kiel repacigilon per fido en lia sango, por la elmontrado de Sia justeco per la pardono de la pekoj, antaŭe faritaj laŭ la toleremeco de Dio;
26Through the forbearance of God, for the shewing of his justice in this time; that he himself may be just, and the justifier of him, who is of the faith of Jesus Christ.
26por la elmontrado de Lia justeco en la nuna tempo, kaj ke Li estas mem justa, kaj estas la praviganto de tiu, kiu havas fidon en Jesuo.
27Where is then thy boasting? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith.
27Kie do estas la fanfaronado? Ĝi estas esceptita. Per kia leĝo? de faroj? Ne; sed per la leĝo de fido.
28For we account a man to be justified by faith, without the works of the law.
28Ni do konkludas, ke homo praviĝas per fido, ekster la faroj de la leĝo.
29Is he the God of the Jews only? Is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also.
29Ĉu Dio estas nur Dio de la Judoj? ĉu ne ankaŭ de la nacianoj? Jes, ankaŭ de la nacianoj;
30For it is one God, that justifieth circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.
30ĉar Dio estas unu, kaj Li pravigos la cirkumcidularon pro fido kaj la necirkumcidularon per fido.
31Do we, then, destroy the law through faith? God forbid: but we establish the law.
31Ĉu ni do per fido vantigas la leĝon? Nepre ne! sed ni firmigas la leĝon.
