1And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain, and when he was set down, his disciples came unto him.
1А кад Он виде народ, попе се на гору, и седе, и приступише Му ученици Његови.
2And opening his mouth, he taught them, saying:
2И отворивши уста своја учаше их говорећи:
3Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
3Благо сиромашнима духом, јер је њихово царство небеско.
4Blessed are the meek: for they shall possess the land.
4Благо онима који плачу, јер ће се утешити.
5Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5Благо кроткима, јер ће наследити земљу.
6Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after justice: for they shall have their fill.
6Благо гладнима и жеднима правде, јер ће се наситити.
7Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
7Благо милостивима, јер ће бити помиловани.
8Blessed are the clean of heart: for they shall see God.
8Благо онима који су чистог срца, јер ће Бога видети.
9Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called children of God.
9Благо онима који мир граде, јер ће се синови Божји назвати.
10Blessed are they that suffer persecution for justice’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
10Благо прогнанима правде ради, јер је њихово царство небеско.
11Blessed are ye when they shall revile you, and persecute you, and speak all that is evil against you, untruly, for my sake:
11Благо вама ако вас узасрамоте и успрогоне и кажу на вас свакојаке рђаве речи лажући, мене ради.
12Be glad and rejoice, for your reward is very great in heaven. For so they persecuted the prophets that were before you.
12Радујте се и веселите се, јер је велика плата ваша на небесима, јер су тако прогонили пророке пре вас.
13You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt lose its savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is good for nothing any more but to be cast out, and to be trodden on by men.
13Ви сте со земљи; ако со обљутави, чим ће се осолити? Она већ неће бити низашта, осим да се проспе напоље и да је људи погазе.
14You are the light of the world. A city seated on a mountain cannot be hid.
14Ви сте видело свету; не може се град сакрити кад на гори стоји.
15Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but upon a candlestick, that it may shine to all that are in the house.
15Нити се ужиже свећа и меће под суд него на свећњак, те светли свима који су у кући.
16So let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
16Тако да се светли ваше видело пред људима, да виде ваша добра дела, и славе Оца вашег који је на небесима.
17Do not think that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets. I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.
17Не мислите да сам ја дошао да покварим закон или пророке: нисам дошао да покварим, него да испуним.
18For amen I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot, or one tittle shall not pass of the law, till all be fulfilled.
18Јер вам заиста кажем: докле небо и земља стоји, неће нестати ни најмање словце или једна титла из закона док се све не изврши.
19He therefore that shall break one of these least commandments, and shall so teach men, shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven. But he that shall do and teach, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
19Ако ко поквари једну од ових најмањих заповести и научи тако људе, најмањи назваће се у царству небеском; а ко изврши и научи, тај ће се велики назвати у царству небеском.
20For I tell you, that unless your justice abound more than that of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
20Јер вам кажем да ако не буде већа правда ваша него књижевника и фарисеја, нећете ући у царство небеско.
21You have heard that it was said to them of old: Thou shalt not kill. And whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment.
21Чули сте како је казано старима: Не убиј; јер ко убије, биће крив суду.
22But I say to you, that whosoever is angry with his brother, shall be in danger of the judgment. And whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council. And whosoever shall say, Thou Fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
22А ја вам кажем да ће сваки који се гневи на брата свог низашта, бити крив суду; а ако ли ко рече брату свом: Рака! Биће крив скупштини; а ко рече: Будало! Биће крив паклу огњеном.
23If therefore thou offer thy gift at the altar, and there thou remember that thy brother hath any thing against thee;
23Зато дакле ако принесеш дар свој к олтару, и онде се опоменеш да брат твој има нешто на те,
24Leave there thy offering before the altar, and go first to be reconciled to thy brother: and then coming thou shalt offer thy gift.
24остави онде дар свој пред олтаром, и иди пре те се помири с братом својим, па онда дођи и принеси дар свој.
25Be at agreement with thy adversary betimes, whilst thou art in the way with him: lest perhaps the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
25Мири се са супарником својим брзо, док си на путу с њим, да те супарник не преда судији, а судија да те не преда слузи и у тамницу да те не ставе.
26Amen I say to thee, thou shalt not go out from thence till thou repay the last farthing.
26Заиста ти кажем: нећеш изаћи оданде док не даш до последњег динара.
27You have heard that it was said to them of old: Thou shalt not commit adultery.
27Чули сте како је казано старима: Не чини прељубе.
28But I say to you, that whosoever shall look on a woman to lust after her, hath already committed adultery with her in his heart.
28А ја вам кажем да сваки који погледа на жену са жељом, већ је учинио прељубу у срцу свом.
29And if thy right eye scandalize thee, pluck it out and cast it from thee. For it is expedient for thee that one of thy members should perish, rather than that thy whole body be cast into hell.
29А ако те око твоје десно саблажњава, ископај га и баци од себе: јер ти је боље да погине један од удова твојих неголи све тело твоје да буде бачено у пакао.
30And if thy right hand scandalize thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is expedient for thee that one of thy members should perish, rather than that thy whole body be cast into hell.
30И ако те десна рука твоја саблажњава, одсеци је и баци од себе: јер ти је боље да погине један од удова твојих неголи све тело твоје да буде бачено у пакао.
31And it hath been said, whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a bill of divorce.
31Тако је казано: Ако ко пусти жену своју, да јој да књигу распусну.
32But I say to you, that whosoever shall put away his wife, excepting for the cause of fornication, maketh her to commit adultery: and he that shall marry her that is put away, committeth adultery.
32А ја вам кажем да сваки који пусти жену своју, осим за прељубу, наводи је те чини прељубу; и који пуштеницу узме прељубу чини.
33Again you have heard that it was said to them of old, Thou shalt not forswear thyself: but thou shalt perform thy oaths to the Lord.
33Још сте чули како је казано старима: Не куни се криво, а испуни шта си се Господу заклео.
34But I say to you not to swear at all, neither by heaven, for it is the throne of God:
34А ја вам кажем: не куните се никако: ни небом, јер је престо Божји;
35Nor by the earth, for it is his footstool: nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great king:
35ни земљом, јер је подножје ногама Његовим; ни Јерусалимом, јер је град великог Цара.
36Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.
36Ни главом својом не куни се, јер не можеш длаке једне беле или црне учинити.
37But let your speech be yea, yea: no, no: and that which is over and above these, is of evil.
37Дакле нека буде ваша реч: да - да; не - не; а шта је више од овог, ода зла је.
38You have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.
38Чули сте да је казано: Око за око, и зуб за зуб.
39But I say to you not to resist evil: but if one strike thee on thy right cheek, turn to him also the other:
39А ја вам кажем да се не браните ода зла, него ако те ко удари по десном твом образу, обрни му и други;
40And if a man will contend with thee in judgment, and take away thy coat, let go thy cloak also unto him.
40и који хоће да се суди с тобом и кошуљу твоју да узме, подај му и хаљину.
41And whosoever will force thee one mile, go with him other two,
41И ако те потера ко један сат, иди с њиме два.
42Give to him that asketh of thee and from him that would borrow of thee turn not away.
42Који иште у тебе, подај му; и који хоће да му узајмиш, не одреци му.
43You have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thy enemy.
43Чули сте да је казано: Љуби ближњег свог, и мрзи на непријатеља свог.
44But I say to you, Love your enemies: do good to them that hate you: and pray for them that persecute and calumniate you:
44А ја вам кажем: љубите непријатеље своје, благосиљајте оне који вас куну, чините добро онима који на вас мрзе и молите се Богу за оне који вас гоне;
45That you may be the children of your Father who is in heaven, who maketh his sun to rise upon the good, and bad, and raineth upon the just and the unjust.
45да будете синови Оца свог који је на небесима; јер Он заповеда свом сунцу, те обасјава и зле и добре, и даје дажд праведнима и неправеднима.
46For if you love them that love you, what reward shall you have? do not even the publicans this?
46Јер ако љубите оне који вас љубе, какву плату имате? Не чине ли то и цариници?
47And if you salute your brethren only, what do you more? do not also the heathens this?
47И ако Бога називате само својој браћи, шта одвише чините? Не чине ли тако и незнабошци?
48Be you therefore perfect, as also your heavenly Father is perfect.
48Будите ви дакле савршени, као што је савршен Отац ваш небески.
