1After these things Jesus walked in Galilee; for he would not walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill him.
1这事以后，耶稣在 加利利 游行，不愿在 犹太 游行，因为 犹太 人想要杀他。
2Now the Jews’ feast of tabernacles was at hand.
2当时 犹太 人的住棚节近了。
3And his brethren said to him: Pass from hence, and go into Judea; that thy disciples also may see thy works which thou dost.
3耶稣的弟兄就对他说：「你离开这里上 犹太 去吧，叫你的门徒也看见你所行的事。
4For there is no man that doth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, manifest thyself to the world.
4人要显扬名声，没有在暗处行事的；你如果行这些事，就当将自己显明给世人看。」
5For neither did his brethren believe in him.
5因为连他的弟兄 说这话 ，是因为不信他。
6Then Jesus said to them: My time is not yet come; but your time is always ready.
6耶稣就对他们说：「我的时候还没有到；你们的时候常是方便的。
7The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth: because I give testimony of it, that the works thereof are evil.
7世人不能恨你们，却是恨我，因为我指证他们所做的事是恶的。
8Go you up to this festival day, but I go not up to this festival day: because my time is not accomplished.
8你们上去过节吧，我现在不上去过这节，因为我的时候还没有满。」
9When he had said these things, he himself stayed in Galilee.
9耶稣说了这话，仍旧住在 加利利 。
10But after his brethren were gone up, then he also went up to the feast, not openly, but, as it were, in secret.
10但他弟兄上去以后，他也上去过节，不是明去，似乎是暗去的。
11The Jews therefore sought him on the festival day, and said: Where is he?
11正在节期， 犹太 人寻找耶稣，说：「他在哪里？」
12And there was much murmuring among the multitude concerning him. For some said: He is a good man. And others said: No, but he seduceth the people.
12众人为他纷纷议论，有的说：「他是好人。」有的说：「不然，他是迷惑众人的。」
13Yet no man spoke openly of him, for fear of the Jews.
13只是没有人明明地讲论他，因为怕 犹太 人。
14Now about the midst of the feast, Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.
14到了节期，耶稣上殿里去教训人。
15And the Jews wondered, saying: How doth this man know letters, having never learned?
15犹太 人就希奇，说：「这个人没有学过，怎么明白书呢？」
16Jesus answered them, and said: My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
16耶稣说：「我的教训不是我自己的，乃是那差我来者的。
17If any man do the will of him; he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
17人若立志遵着他的旨意行，就必晓得这教训或是出于 神，或是我凭着自己说的。
18He that speaketh of himself, seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh the glory of him that sent him, he is true, and there is no injustice in him.
18人凭着自己说，是求自己的荣耀；惟有求那差他来者的荣耀，这人是真的，在他心里没有不义。
19Did Moses not give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law?
19摩西 岂不是传律法给你们吗？你们却没有一个人守律法。为什么想要杀我呢？」
20Why seek you to kill me? The multitude answered, and said: Thou hast a devil; who seeketh to kill thee?
20众人回答说：「你是被鬼附着了！谁想要杀你？」
21Jesus answered, and said to them: One work I have done; and you all wonder:
21耶稣说：「我做了一件事，你们都以为希奇。
22Therefore, Moses gave you circumcision (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and on the sabbath day you circumcise a man.
22摩西 传割礼给你们（其实不是从 摩西 起的，乃是从祖先起的），因此你们也在安息日给人行割礼。
23If a man receive circumcision on the sabbath day, that the law of Moses may not be broken; are you angry at me because I have healed the whole man on the sabbath day?
23人若在安息日受割礼，免得违背 摩西 的律法，我在安息日叫一个人全然好了，你们就向我生气吗？
24Judge not according to the appearance, but judge just judgment.
24不可按外貌断定是非，总要按公平断定是非。」
25Some therefore of Jerusalem said: Is not this he whom they seek to kill?
25耶路撒冷 人中有的说：「这不是他们想要杀的人吗？
26And behold, he speaketh openly, and they say nothing to him. Have the rulers known for a truth, that this is the Christ?
26你看他还明明地讲道，他们也不向他说什么，难道官长真知道这是基督吗？
27But we know this man, whence he is: but when the Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is.
27然而，我们知道这个人从哪里来；只是基督来的时候，没有人知道他从哪里来。」
28Jesus therefore cried out in the temple, teaching, and saying: You both know me, and you know whence I am: and I am not come of myself; but he that sent me, is true, whom you know not.
28那时，耶稣在殿里教训人，大声说：「你们也知道我，也知道我从哪里来；我来并不是由于自己。但那差我来的是真的。你们不认识他，
29I know him, because I am from him, and he hath sent me.
29我却认识他；因为我是从他来的，他也是差了我来。」
30They sought therefore to apprehend him: and no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come.
30他们就想要捉拿耶稣；只是没有人下手，因为他的时候还没有到。
31But of the people many believed in him, and said: When the Christ cometh, shall he do more miracles, than these which this man doth?
31但众人中间有好些信他的，说：「基督来的时候，他所行的神迹岂能比这人所行的更多吗？」
32The Pharisees heard the people murmuring these things concerning him: and the rulers and Pharisees sent ministers to apprehend him.
32法利赛人听见众人为耶稣这样纷纷议论，祭司长和法利赛人就打发差役去捉拿他。
33Jesus therefore said to them: Yet a little while I am with you: and then I go to him that sent me.
33于是耶稣说：「我还有不多的时候和你们同在，以后就回到差我来的那里去。
34You shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither you cannot come.
34你们要找我，却找不着；我所在的地方你们不能到。」
35The Jews therefore said among themselves: Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles?
35犹太 人就彼此对问说：「这人要往哪里去，叫我们找不着呢？难道他要往散住 希腊 中的 犹太 人那里去教训 希腊 人吗？
36What is this saying that he hath said: You shall seek me, and shall not find me; and where I am, you cannot come?
36他说：『你们要找我，却找不着；我所在的地方，你们不能到』，这话是什么意思呢？」
37And on the last, and great day of the festivity, Jesus stood and cried, saying: If any man thirst, let him come to me, and drink.
37节期的末日，就是最大之日，耶稣站着高声说：「人若渴了，可以到我这里来喝。
38He that believeth in me, as the scripture saith, Out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
38信我的人就如经上所说：『从他腹中要流出活水的江河来。』」
39Now this he said of the Spirit which they should receive, who believed in him: for as yet the Spirit was not given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
39耶稣这话是指着信他之人要受 圣 灵说的。那时还没有 赐下圣 灵 来 ，因为耶稣尚未得着荣耀。
40Of that multitude therefore, when they had heard these words of his, some said: This is the prophet indeed.
40众人听见这话，有的说：「这真是那先知。」
41Others said: This is the Christ. But some said: Doth the Christ come out of Galilee?
41有的说：「这是基督。」但也有的说：「基督岂是从 加利利 出来的吗？
42Doth not the scripture say: That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and from Bethlehem the town where David was?
42经上岂不是说『基督是 大卫 的后裔，从 大卫 本乡 伯利恒 出来的』吗？」
43So there arose a dissension among the people because of him.
43于是众人因着耶稣起了纷争。
44And some of them would have apprehended him: but no man laid hands on him.
44其中有人要捉拿他，只是无人下手。
45The ministers therefore came to the chief priests and the Pharisees. And they said to them: Why have you not brought him?
45差役回到祭司长和法利赛人那里。他们对差役说：「你们为什么没有带他来呢？」
46The ministers answered: Never did man speak like this man.
46差役回答说：「从来没有像他这样说话的！」
47The Pharisees therefore answered them: Are you also seduced?
47法利赛人说：「你们也受了迷惑吗？
48Hath any one of the rulers believed in him, or of the Pharisees?
48官长或是法利赛人岂有信他的呢？
49But this multitude, that knoweth not the law, are accursed.
49但这些不明白律法的百姓是被咒诅的！」
50Nicodemus said to them, (he that came to him by night, who was one of them:)
50内中有 尼哥德慕 ，就是从前去见耶稣的，对他们说：
51Doth our law judge any man, unless it first hear him, and know what he doth?
51「不先听本人的口供，不知道他所做的事，难道我们的律法还定他的罪吗？」
52They answered, and said to him: Art thou also a Galilean? Search the scriptures, and see, that out of Galilee a prophet riseth not.
52他们回答说：「你也是出于 加利利 吗？你且去查考，就可知道 加利利 没有出过先知。」
53And every man returned to his own house.
